Need to know how to get my PS2 working for Unlimited Codes. Is modding the way to go, or a Memor32?

What kind of PS2 do you have, fat or slim?

Saber might be pretty small but even she would crush a banana if she tried to ride it...

You could try going for an HD loader.

Then I'd have to buy one of those PS2-compatible harddrives though, right?
I'm budgeting enough to buy the game, I don't think I'm able to afford something like that.
Maybe I'm wrong though.

>> No.1371732

Modding is the ONLY way to go, it takes out the region lock and play pirate games.

Search google for more information.

Have googled.
100% sure that I'd fuck up soldering the damn thing.
I've heard iffy things about the chips that don't require soldering, but maybe I'm wrong.

>> No.1371757

>>1371743
There're other options than hardmodding.

You could look into softmod options such as a swap disk, HD loader, etc.

Or if you live by a place that does professional mods you could get them to solder the chip.

I've heard swap discs can fuck up your PS though.

I put forward a new question, in place of the OP's silly vagueness:
What is the best way to get a PS2 to play imports?

Also; more Saber is needed.

>> No.1371772

>>1371770
Import a Japanese PS2.

>> No.1371777

>>1371757
Aren't swap discs bad for your disc drive?

I want to be able to play imports with my PS2 in the long-term. I want to take the route which least damages my PS2.
For example, if there's a fool-proof guide to soldering, and soldering is best, I'll do it.

Touché.

I shall correct my earlier question:
What is the best way to play imports, without paying over $100?

December. Don't get what the rush is.

Was thinking about getting a Memor32 for a while, but I don't know. Seems like it might be worth the extra money over Swap Magic.

>> No.1371858

>>1371777
Mod your goddamn PS2 and buy the original game.

Your PS2 WON'T get damaged if you let a professional do the work. That or buy a brand new Japanese console.

Now stop being a lazy faggot and get information around eBay and gaming forums, /jp/ isn't for that.

Or was it that thing that the "russian hackers" cracked and turned into a softmod?

SwapMagic works just fine and even if you have a slim it takes literally 5 minutes of work to change the lid. I did it in a hotel at a convention. Soldering is fine too. If you're that fucking shaky get someone to do it for you. If you don't know anyone who can, lrn2social.

OP here. Looks like I'd be able to get my hands on a Memor32 for €50, so I think I'll go with that.

However, seeing as though Unlimited Codes is basically the only thing I'd use it for, I have one final question:
What are the chances it'll be brought over here?

God, I hate you SO much.

Anyhow, heard about the whole ESR business now. I think if I'm buying the physical copy and all, I'd like to be able to use it. Therefore I'm going to go for SwapMagic and just change the lid.
Thanks for the help.
