I never understood what's supposed to be so good about FFT story. The plot was basic and the characters were introduced and forgot immediately after. If you are looking for that kind of stuff (I don't know why you would) you aren't going to find many eroge that fit that criteria for sure. I'm not a jsrpg connoisseur, pretty much the only eroge I've played which had srpg elements was the Ikusa Megami series, but I surely enjoyed those more than FFT for the simple fact that characters felt like actual characters. And I mean IM is borderline nukige, which are not exactly famous for their great characters. But at least they didn't shaft them after the first time they spoke.

I think my guys were around level 70 at that point, it's good to have Kath use her cancel ability once Felton gives himself +4/+4, and don't worry about boosting your own party's since he will just remove them each turn.
Basically just make sure Ramius doesn't die and you will eventually get him down. I managed to do it with no items used, so if you buy some healing items then it should be no problem at all.

"このCD-ROMには正義・正論・愛・恋・友情…は入っていません" This line made me play this game.

Finished For Elise. I didn't like it.

It had some good looking art. I liked how all the girls have pale skin with dark hair. The atmosphere is good at building the stress Hioki is going though. The way Hioki talks is kind of humorous, in a awkward way. It's set in a office and they even go into a bar, crazy stuff, right? All the ero scenes are about ten seconds long. The game, playing though both routes took me about four hours maybe, I finished it in a day anyway. The ending is the same anyway. Some of the music is alright. It has a repeated motif of fur Elise.

I felt it didn't have any meaning. A lot of bad things happen to Hioki but I just didn't really care. It makes you more annoyed than depressed. I only liked one character, the rest are pretty terrible, but one could argue that you weren't supposed to like them. If this game was released today, I would most likely die of laughter at people's reaction, all the things that games have to have, like virgin heroines, pure girls, loyal girls... this game doesn't have.

The dreams/delusions Hioki has are weird, to say the least. Probably the weirdest things I've seen in VNs. The scenes are short, about 30 seconds long, I guess.

The system is old. It has the move, talk, look options like an adventure game etc. You can only save at the beginning of each day. Of course, no skip previously read text and backlog. The music doesn't loop. Surprisingly I got this game to work on windows 7, after a bit of mucking around.

The ending was okay. If you think, did he just...? then yes, he did.

If you played sayooshi and looked into other craftwork titles, don't bother with this. It's bad, but it's not the worst I've played. If you want a 'realistic' game, this is it.

The only ones I'd strongly recommend for the final Felton fight are the 6x damage attack that Aster can get from talking to QD, and the defensive passive skills for Ramius since she doesn't have much damage output in the first place and if the boss gets past Ramius, everyone else will die pretty fast.
Gurigura is a bit of a weird character in terms of skills, her main uses come from her skills that affect stuff outside of combat. Her defense-breaking skill is pretty good though, as it permanently increases the damage a target takes as far as I know.
Riche is good on healing/BARRIER duty if you are low on items, but her fire/ice lasers are very powerful if you have the upgraded passive skill that increases the damage of a specific element.
Kath is good for the boost cancellation to remove Felton's +4/+4, and also useful for BP granting ability both on herself and for the party. Her first aid can be useful for keeping Ramius healed as well if you need it. Her one-time use ability that gives the party a free turn can also come in handy if you are lacking damage, since the boss gets a strong boost of power when on low life.

I have a big favour I needed from you guys. My friend told me that you guys can help me with my JLPT N5 and she said that maybe by reading a visual novel I can improve my reading ability.

can you guys kindly enough to give me a recommendation for starter? Is it possible or does it even exists a visual novel with only Hiragana as their main text and dialogues?

thank you and sorry for troubling everyone.

You lack in subtlety and imagination, my friend. That's too out there. You don't even need that much to get a reaction from that kind of bunch.

You could instead, for example. make a heroine who's really proactive at getting sex from the MC, lively and enthusiastic during the H scenes. Maybe during some time where the main character can't keep her constantly satisfied for some reason or another, there are subtle hints that if she doesn't get it from the protagonist, she's willing to go look somewhere else.

Nothing of the sort actually happens, of course, even in a bad end. But if you're attentive, the implication is clearly there.

Something along those lines would draw fun reactions, I'm sure.. I think it might even be more effective than an outright slut heroine or stupid NTR crap.

There's plenty of room for writers to have creative freedom. It's piss easy to make a doujin game. It won't have the funding of a "mass" marketed game from a company, though. Give and take.

I also bought many games, (actually not that many, I have 12 at total) but what I meant to say that people here always crying how japs make a big deal about cheating & not being virgin etc and looks down on those buyers while most of them just wait until girlcelly uploads something. Instead of supporting the games they want, all they're doing is complaining like "I cant believe how those retards buying so much moege, they are killing eroge with all their virgin heroines and shit bla bla"

Those retards are the ones who are keeping eroge industry alive, its not like there are 10 million of eroge buyers anyway.

If the medium as a whole is suffering from this "hugely", it means that a "huge" part of customers don't want that kind of things in their games so companies have to be careful about it. Now lets put this on the numbers, 70% - 75% of the customers don't want cheating, ex boyfriend or that kind of things while 25-30 would be okay with that. And you are saying the "75%" is killing the eroge industry?

Why would I look from the point of view of the creators instead of the customers, even though I'm a customer itself? Yeah maybe they can't write whatever they had in their head and maybe they are getting forced to make something really simple istead of their plans, but that doesn't change anything. I just cant see a solution about it, so you are saying people should buy those kind of games even though they hate it and wont even play it, just for the sakes of creators? You know how much an eroge cost right? You're not buying breads dude, people cant buy something they dont like for that amount of money.

Also I'm pretty sure you can make great "creative" games without adding cheating, ex boyfriend or slut heroines. They are not restraining writers that much anyway if they know how they should make things right. Look at Alicesoft, All of their games have rapes, but since they're doing it right they don't have any problems with sales even though their games aren't even full voiced.

It's not that they're a huge part of costumers, it's just that they're obnoxious as fuck about it. The Japanese have a word specifically for them (処女厨).
For example there's a thread about non-virgin heroines in bbspink and it's been hijacked by crazy nuts spamming the thread with insults towards players who like non-virgin heroines and whine about how every writer who dares to think about doing this should leave the industry. I'm guessing not only writers are afraid about it now, but even other players.
Even if your numbers are hypothetically true (75%), where's the eroge aimed at that remaining 25%? Writers and companies are afraid of pandering to those players, and those players are afraid of asking for it.

Do you seriously believe in that? Yeah I pulled that out of my ass, But if you would look at the sales or how the companies gets scared for making that kind of games you can understand how are they the bigger population. It doesn't matter if its 75% or 65%.

For the latter part, actually its not even that hard. With just 25% you cant gain any profit from a game since its not like all of them will insantly buy the game just for a slut heroine. Of course they are afraid of going bankrupt, did you think they are making art or something?

And if they are still want to add a slut or some non virgin heroines in a game, there are many different ways to do it. For example you can make like baseson or chusingura, mixing virgins and non virgins, in them there are some heroines who even have kids or have sex with different males. You can add a gameplay too, just look at eushully or alicesoft. If they dont want to do both of them, They can always make it mid - low priced, people are never complain about it unless its a full priced game. There are 3 different solutions for the creators & 25%, and I thought those in just one min. I'm sure they can find many different paths as well, but if they just force their way in full priced moeges there is no alternative than going bankrupt.

That also depends on the company though, For example I'm pretty sure that if august makes an all ages game like their old Yoake Mae, it'd sell well regardless of h-scenes. Another example is Baseson's Sengoku Koihime, even though it had more than 40 heroine and 40 different seiyuus they still made a good profit from it and they'll milk it like koihime musou series now, means that it sold really well.

Or you can count Typemoon games etc, as long as your company have some good solid customers being all ages or 18+ doesn't really matter, though making it 18+ will increase sales more. But of course if they are new to eroge industry it will hit really hard.

August does their console/all ages ports, but I think all their games have at least an original 18+ edition.

Baseson's Sengoku Koihime is a strange case. They probably got a lot of the Koihime Musou fanbase in on it as well as fans of the VAs. I'm not aware of it getting sequel or fandisc however and from what I've seen it doesn't seem to be that popular despite having relatively high scores.

Yeah All of August's games have an original +18 version, what I meant to say that even if they release their next game as an all ages I dont think their sales would decrease very much. They have solid customers who don't care what is the title or game's description, they'll just buy it since its from august.

Sengoku Koihime is getting an extended version at the december, and most likely a FD after that. They might make even more of it. I dont really know how much is it popular on 2ch or platforms like that, but since they have made 20-30 different goods based on it and still making new goods for a 2-3 years old game, I think its pretty popular. I mean there should be some buyers if they are still making new t-shirts, bags, posters etc for it. Though I'm not sure why someone would wear a t-shirt which have a heroine's picture.

Well baseson is a strange company anyway so we shouldn't consider them as a standard situation. Currently they're selling Koihime Eiyuutan as a low priced game, even though each one of them has 15-20 different heroines / VAs (and they are not amateur at all, almost all of them are from the original cast) and 20-25 h-scenes. Most of full priced eroge companies dont have that much cast and amount of h-scenes.

Typemoon, well I'm still waiting tsukihime remake from them. I enjoyed their lastest work Mahoutsukai no Yoru as well, and I'm pretty sure if they can ever make something new it will sell like hot cakes regardless of being all ages or not. Their problem is making a game per 10 years. I guess they dont need money so they dont even bother with making something.

>> No.13659274

>>13659234
I'm pretty sure Baseson has more money than god at this point from all the merc they're selling. That, or they have bunch of VAs on cheap contracts for who knows how long. Sengoku Koihime is fascinatingly strange case in general, having larger cast than necessary with seemingly no other reason than to have them (and maybe sell merc) along other things.

I'm not actually sure how loyal August's fanbase is. Sure, they're well known but I don't remember ever seeing anyone really hyped up for their next release like you'd see a Baseson fan be, for an example.

Typemoon is a case of huge popularity and brand recognition to the point of drawing attention outside the usual eroge people. That's apparent even here if you take a look around different boards. You can occasionally see a fate/typemoon thread on pretty much any board.

How do you find anything from DLsite? I like doujin games but most of the stuff on Maniax is cheap nukige (which have served me well to be fair), fanfiction of some kind (a lot of which is also the former) or just low quality (which seems to be even more prominent in the normal site). The fact that their tags vary from inconsistent to undescriptive doesn't help.

I kind of feel sorry for whoever gets hired.
First, the fans are gonna be mad because it's definitely getting delayed.
Whoever gets hired will be overworked to hell as well to try and meet release date/keep it as close as possible.
Then whoever is doing the scripting is going to have that pressure of doing it well, bug-less, and surely some bugs will slip through because of the rush. Then the game is going to be scripted incorrectly and be shit.

Makura wins the fucking retarded prize for this though:

Not to be utterly retarded but what's the big fuss over this game? I understand there's quite a few big names attached to it, but it seems to be a rather ordinary scenario and setting. Or is it expected to be more than meets the eye?

From what I've gathered it seems more like eroge's Half-Life 3.

It's intended as a followup to Subahibi. Even just watching the OP there's references to like a dozen different authors, and Scaji has been hyping the shit out of it on Twitter. If you've played Subahibi, there's no way you're not going to be excited for it.

Finished Carnival. It's pretty good.

Considering the subject material, it actually feels lighthearted for most of it. It's actually funny. That being said, when things actually happen in the game there is no real feeling to it, it just kind of happens then it's over. It's like Manabu has no sense of reality and is just going with the flow, but I think this is the point.

It references a lot of novels and poems including 山羊の歌、病牀六尺、金色夜叉.

I think Risa's VA was pretty bad. A lot of times when she was supposed to be shouting was just in a slightly raised voice. It also has Hikaru in it which was surprising, and that bully from yume miru kusuri, her character is completely different.

The art is very bright and colorful and there are a lot of event CGs.

It has interesting themes and it's enjoyable. The first scenario is easily the funnest thing I've read for a long time.

Is he really insane though? He just seems like he wants to kill himself.

Also, if a character is clearly insane to the rest of the characters and to the reader without any prior spoilers it's not really denpa since the strangeness and horror factor of it is taken away.
