I'm stuck in Matsuri's underground waterway. I've been here for hours and I can't find the exit. Anybody remembers where it is?

They're pretty standard RPGs, not Zelda-like.
This one, Touhou Gensoumaroku ~ Devil of Decline is pretty fun, 7/10.
Ichigo Bose's first RPG, Touhou Soujin'engi ~ Genius of Sappheiros is outstanding 10/10. I'd show you a screenshot of my play stats with 250 hours on it but I can't be arsed.

>Genius of Sappheiros

Does it get any harder later on? I've just hit Yuyuko's area and so far every random encounter is a chore, and every boss fight ends in a few turns of spamming the most powerful attacks.

And I definitely haven't been grinding, since I wanted each area over with ASAP.

People keep saying it's a great game, but I'm not seeing it.

>> No.13442481

>>13442462
I'm not sure I remember the difficulty curve but I'd say that yes, it does get harder later on.

If you're not liking it it can't be helped, but it's probably the RPG I've had the most fun with.

I'll probably stick with it, at least for a little while longer.

If anything I'm probably expecting too much from it.

With that said I'm looking forward to trying Devil of Decline, since the translation seems to have picked up again.

The first Yuyu boss fight is when the dificulty start ramping up. But it isn't that bad until the temple, since that is the last area in the main game.

Then the last boss rapes you for a while...
The x-pak is manageable until the last area, but don't even try the endless dungeon. It is just super super super tidius than hard. I got a few rooms in and just dropped the extra area.

>>13444766
For traditional RPG by Strawberry Bosse, I recommend Devil of Decline. Genius of Sappheiros is a bit too hardcore, and though Nightmare of Rebellion is an improvement from DoD, it's better to start from the easier one.

If it's from another developer, the Touhou Labyrinth series are very good, if you're used to Etrian Oddysey mechanics.

Fushigi no Gensoukyo series are rather different since they are a roguelike, but if you like that type of game then try the 2nd game first.

Agreed. GoS had this in spades.

Also I know I'm asking in vain here, but do any other games compare to GoS? From what I've heard SB's other RPGs don't quite match up to it. Nightmare of Sleeping girl and the LoT series are both great, but not quite there either.
