Farming E-6's node K is quite easy with <whatever as flagship>/4CVL/SS and CL/2DD/3SS, but for the other interesting nodes I'm kinda unsure.

Ok /jp/, lets talk hard mode here for a minute. I honestly was not expecting an easymodo event that I beat everything up to e6 on hard with. What are my chances at clearing e6 on hard? I know it's going to be more RNG than anything, but how does this fleet look for minimizing said rng?

I am also trying to decide if it is worth compromising my BBs firepower in exchange for the FCF, but I think that is basically a must.

I'm really liking how they revert bosses so you can actually attempt to farm things without getting last dance forever. I also like how there is very little compass fucking and you actually end up where you want to. It feels like the game is finally a little fair. I'm farming K and while my team is a bit overkill (Eugen, Zuikaku, Dragons, Akagi, Imuya + Ooyodo, Poi, Akizuki, 2 CLTs, Goya) it's very reliable in killing everything but the anchorage princess with minimal to zero damage in both nodes.

You do not bring Ooyodo for huge damage. Support is her forte - she can carry more equipment and deal enough damage to remove the cannon fodder, be it day or night battle. The rate of your sub getting hit by the enemy in node H is pretty low, the real danger for them in that node is if the other ships can't mop up the DDs fast enough.

I mostly rotate my Maruyu's so they hit 20 fast for their remodel (cause they give 1.8 luck after you kai'd them, summing up to 9 luck for one ship if you can get 5 of her)

That hasn't changed at all. There have always been specific ships as rewards and specific ships as boss drops. The only weird thing Ironbottom did was introduce Yahagi as e-5 boss drop a week or two into the event.

I also think Ironbottom Sound difficulty is overstated. HP regen bar is slower than people make it out to be and e5 was a joke. E4 was a pretty hard map if you didn't kusotactics though.

Yeah, I compared them to other BBs. Main strength of Hotels is armor, so Pastas don't really work as their mini versions. They are comparable to Hiei and less sturdy than Nagatos. More powerful though and when compared to equally strong Kirishima, more HP.

A few reasons:
-ranking points for cheap
-a good place to grind DDs I'm farming for their equipment (just slap a T3 depth charge + sonar and put them in the last slot and done)
-guaranteed boss node so no frustration that comes with not being able to reach the boss

To me, clearing the 1-5 monthly comes more naturally than, say, clearing the あ weekly. First node crit can be annoying but it's not that annoying. I'm only taking a break from sparkling there because I just Kai'd Yamagumo and Urakaze for their guns, so I have no fodder to farm at the moment.
