You should upgrade to a castle when you can. Get as many magic vendors as possible for your home and invest in them. Try to get their shop lv to 100 to start with. Useful potions such as potentials are available on magic vendors.

After that use your gold to invest in every vendor in every city that you think is worthwhile. Once that's done get a shop and a museum opened up if you don't have them already. Both should help in gold generation. If you need more storage room get a storage or dungeon.

Lastly, start getting farms and ranches going. You'll want farms for vegetables, fruits, and herbs. The ranches will give you eggs and milk. By having both you should have 3/4 of the things required for large picnic baskets which help in maintaining stat potentials. The farms should also give you a steady food supply and your herb farms should help in stat development.

What is the difference between "General Goods" vendor and "General Store" vendor

What should my NPC make up look like?

Currently have a maid, wizard, barkeep.

Current pets @ level 34 =

level 22 little girl
level 22 little girl
level 19 Defender god pet
level 21 older dog sister (using a gun)

Don't necessarily have to be married to any guild in the game. If you really want a skill from another guild just ask to join the particular guild you want and do the quest for them to join. When you want to go back to the mage guild just redo the join quest for the mages guild.

It's a hassle I know but the option is always there for it.

I currently have a maid, a wizard, and 3 magic vendors for my castle. I'm holding out for more magic vendors but if RNG keeps screwing me over I'll just fill my remaining spots with blackmarket vendors. My reasoning for the blackmarket vendor is that if I invest well into them they'll have a nice list of equipment and I'll have a better crack at finding a living weapon off of them. Also, there lists may generate decent gear for pets as well.

As for pets. If you want to make them stronger start gene engineering creatures into them to raise their levels and give them necessary skills. An important skill to give them is pickpocket.

Generally, what's good for your character is probably going to be good for them. So give them good equipment and also feed them blessed potions of potentials as well to keep all their stat potentials in the superb range. Your pet's pickpocket skill should let them loot enough gold so that when they're at town they'll go to a trainer to train up skill potentials. To help in this you could also just let them loot the gold that drops off of the bosses in the dungeons you clear if you don't need it.

Pet training also raise stat potential, so you should keep your potions of potential for yourself.
Each training raise a flat 2%stat/3%skill potential.
Training cost is determined by INI and never go up, so if you plan to have a pet forever get it weak.

Soon enough, it shall be stuck at 400% potential for everything.

I would prioritize getting as many magic vendors as you can but if you feel like you have enough get whatever you want to fill the remaining spots. I went with blackmarket vendors but I suppose people will go for others based on their own reasons that range from role playing to convenience.

I'm fine with just three but that may be because I've invested in all the magic vendors of North Tyris and South Tyris. I have a large pool of magic vendors to draw from if I'm shopping for something in particular.

let's talk about Younger Sisters, and by extension, the Roran race.

Younger Sisters are born (spawned?) fully formed, with outward appearance of a 12-year-old, when certain magic items are used ("Diaries"). They come fully clothed, and with a set of fake memories - they regard the activator of said item as their non-blood-related brother/sister, and loves and trusts them unconditionally. This is to such an extent that, with some coaxing, they make willing suicide bombers (c.f. Elona Shooter). Unopened Diaries are, therefore, in great demand by slave traffickers as well as Yerles medical/research labs, where Rorans are ideal donors for organ transplants and subjects for various experiments.

It is likely that Rorans are the results of genetic experimentation in a previous Era. As a member of the Roran race, Younger Sisters are naturally attractive. Perhaps 'naturally' is is the wrong word - their facial features and natural body mannerisms have a significant, measurable superstimulus effect on human subjects, eliciting feelings of protectiveness and affection, much more than female human children of the same age.

>> No.13389971

>>13389968
All Younger Sisters have the same facial features, build, hair and eye color. Individual specimens have deviation of less than 0.05% when freshly spawned. Subsequent living conditions and experiences will lead to greater variation, but surprisingly little even then.

Younger Sisters are biologically very similar to humans, to the point where organ transplants are possible, except for their strange reproductive system (more on this subject below). Their blood type is always the same as the person opening their Diary. It is theorized that this was one of the primary motivations for the development of this race.

Little Sisters come with an eclectic selection of skills at spawn, of varying usefulness.

- they can sing with reasonable proficiency.
- they can cook - not well, except for a knack for making chocolates.
- they are naturally proficient with many weapons, as a from of genetic memory. Small knives are preferred due to their size and build, though they can be surprisingly proficient with firearms.
- they cause superstimulus reactions of protectiveness and affection. Even monsters are affected to a lesser degree, enough to sometimes cause momentary hesitation (this is often fatal).

>> No.13389973

>>13389971
Breeding of Younger Sisters is possible, and a major component of the local economy in North and South Tyris. Quirks in Roran biology means they can become 'pregnant' with almost any partner imaginable, male of female, human or non.

Technically, 'pregnant' is not the right term, as the baby takes no genetic material from the 'father'. Instead, when Rorans reach sexual climax, they have a small chance (comparable to per-encounter pregnancy chance for humans) of conceiving, using an almost-exact copy of their own DNA.

The children of Younger Sisters are invariably female. Strangely enough, they are not themselves Younger Sisters, but a related Roran specimen known colloquially as Little Girls. Primary differences are hair and eye color (blonde hair and blue eyes vs green hair with brown eyes), and a small variance (~2%) in facial features.

Little Girl babies exit the uterus at comparable weight to human babies, but grow at almost visible speeds. They reach physical and mental maturity within 6 months, with the outward appearance of a human female of roughly 16.

Little girls lack the 'brother' imprinting mechanism of Younger Sisters. Nevertheless, they are a great favorite with slave traders and the Yerles military due to the quick turnaround time. They are larger and stronger than Sisters, making them suitable as cannon fodder, menial labour, or even emergency food source.

>herbed herbs
Does it even matter what food you imbue with herbs?
I always interpreted the wiki description of it of doing so will replace the original food's stat growth to a fixed 1000 points.

Or you just herb herbs because you have 3000 stomafilias in your 4th D pocket?

>> No.13390912

>>13390894
I don't think it replaces the original food. If you look you can see that sometimes you'll gain stats before "It tasted like seventh heaven!" (or whatever other description it gives the food) and sometimes after. I can't remember which but I know one is way more common and gives a bunch of stats. So I think that means that the less common one is the one from the original food while the other is from the herbing.

Usually I'll herb grand parfaits when I'm hungry at home and then herb a stomafilia or two, as well as maybe a curaria for use in dungeons or on the road since they don't go bad.

On that note, if I have equipment that lets me digest rotten food, will I get the same stat bonus from them as I would if they weren't rotten? Or does it just prevent me from vomiting and maybe losing stats?

My valk is only 77 and I DID skip a lot but her stats are higher than that. (pic related)
The upside is that her low INI will make her a rich whore with 400% potential in anything so the stats will come soon enough. and so will the skill levels. You can't do that so easily with a spiral king or whatever.

Yes. The stat gains she can have are capped at 10 and in max 2 stats.
If you level her from 10-20 with 1 jump she can gain only 10 stats in 2.

It's the Only dragon that has no anoying breath attack.
Having multiple evolutions means they cost a lot to starters, but it's worth it anyway.
I have to say, mine grew onto me.
It's really mediocre at low levels and at no evolutions. After the second evo it suddely became my main DD/tanker with the claymore. and when it got the megid flame special action I fell in love with it. Let me just say this: for a wizard who's main spell are lightning bolts an pet with a full screen Elemental scar-like ability is a godsend.

About other pets. I'm a really boring pet owner and I also prefer to have 3-4 stronger ones over a small army. Currently I have the dragon, a little witch, the defender and the golden knight which will be replaced as soon as I get an altar in my place. I already feel it's a crowd and tagged them up so they use up less space.
I'm also not fond of bells or catsisters or basically anything that has less life than me. And I'm yet to be convinced of employing a potion thrower.

>> No.13391060

>>13391030
That's fine, I like having a project. It's better than just doing dungeon after dungeon waiting for potions of potential and what not. Goals are fun.
My main spells are magic dart and magic storm so I probably won't get as much mileage out of it, but the huge life is definitely tempting. Plus if I understand right it will get AP from nearly every kill, right?

I prefer a smaller group as well. I'm only using two right now, and up until about 3 hours ago I was only using my Destroy Boar (can't recommend them highly enough).

As far as potion throwers go, why don't you like them? I've been thinking of evolving a hunger demon into a halloween head. I had one on a previous character and loved him, but his speed and squishyness made me need to replace him. The squishyness can be fixed with the info you gave me about gene engineering, but I don't know what to do about the speed. I don't think gene engineering increases it.

>> No.13391177

>>13391060
AP will increase speed. don't worry about such stuff.

I generally don't like potion throwers because I had 2 and both failed me. A white lady who kept throwing acid and molotovs to anywhere but the targets (burning down Vernis and he who dwells in vanity thanks to some random adventurer with cursed stuff), and a vamp who I gave another chance, made her a ranged thrower with AP. She didn't move much but threw her panties all over the place. She was a lot more accurate with her potions but I still didn't fancy her and so she's living with my million other old pets at the discarded ranch.

And about the destroy boar. No wonder you love it. It comes with a million point in stats and a very nice set of abilities. It's just really really hard to have it grow. I find it's more for people who just replace their allies as soon as they get bored with it. I'm the "my waifu fo eval" type. My opinion.

I know AP will come but it's a bit slow if they are. I guess I can give him a try either way. I don't remember him ever throwing molotovs or acid, but I might be wrong.

Natural shadow step plus the charge attack is amazing. I have him equipped with both the smash and shield tonfas, so with his huge martial arts and strength he hits like a truck when he charges. He's saved me a few times by one shotting a priority target. Shame he's hard to grow though because he's my favorite pet in the game. I like his sprite, I like his shtick, and I'm pretty attached. Could I just throw a kitty bank with a few million in it at him to allow him to develop? Not sure if that would help enough. I don't want to replace him.

If only child boars had the evolution the were SUPPOSED TO have.

The problem is not really the stats or the skills. He has quite a lot of those already. It's the AP. So its awesome as it is now but be prepared to have it tagged up with some weak pet to gain some AP for it to keep up with you. Even if you only get speed upgrades.

I'm not saying you should change it. Not at all. I DO know they are awesome. I'm saying that it has it's own cons as well.

This makes AP gain a little easier and frees up some much needed room to shoot my lightning bolts without accidentally oneshotting my allies on a rainy day.

If the boar is the team leader the movement the team does is what the boar would solo. I'm not sure about skills like shadow step but theoretically it should work.
Also if both members of the team would be able to gain AP from a kill the both WILL, regardless which of the two did the final blow.
I usually tagteam my allies just to maximize AP gain. Not sure if it's 100% for both or just a 50-50 but AP is distributed now equally for me.

Feed them herbed food if you have it but I found if you gave them a few hundred thousands from dungeon drops and have them use it to train up even an occasional curaria will do. I never really saw more a stat being raised by more than 1 with food.
Also the further you get in the game, the easier it will become to train your party. Even the piggy will start to train eventually, it only needs a bit more time.

Ya, the dungeon was in the 190s, and with me only 68 at the time I knew I was probably going to die. Still, I finally got my fifth Kumi statue so I can probably start getting the consumables from little sisters, it was too tempting.

I usually just let the daddies come to me. If I'm dungeon diving I'll see a few and they aren't usually that big a threat. I'm a fairy so as long as they can't one shot me they aren't going to be able to hit me twice in a row while I heal up.

Test done(1.44) with a merc wizard, a missionary of darkness and an elite yerles.

The missionary got bumped up to 22 with the yerles. It resulted in the missionary getting dex, perception and a 3rd stat (I can't remember and the log already scrolled too much.)
I merged it in the wizard, and the wizard only got the perception which was the only stat higher than his.

Conclusion: you need at least 2 levels and higher stats for your waifu to grow.

Pets gain more from food, and also level up skills easier than the PC does. In other words, I figure that the quickest way to being able to take on the strongest enemies is to boost a pet over myself.

Unfortunately, that strategy hurts me in awakened dungeons. Everything is aggressive to you the moment you enter, and since she can't keep the attention of everything, I can get overwhelmed pretty quickly. I can still do ~lvl350-400 awakened dungeons, but it's a pain and can be ruined very quickly. I essentially wall myself in and let her kill everything before coming out. Anything that can break walls potentially ruins my day though.

On the plus side, I (well, she) can kill some of the non-inner gods (mostly thanks to nether-aspected attribute damage and its insane healing). If the AI wasn't retarded about keeping up Super Armor, I think she could probably handle them all.

Alright anon, here is what I have for you.

For a condensed formula, their level is: ((SpellPower/25 + SpellPower * SpellPower/10000 + PCLevel)/2)/3 + 2

This is done in two calculations though. The first is

SpellPower = (SpellPower/25 + SpellPower * SpellPower/10000 + PCLevel)/2

and the second is

Spirit Level = SpellPower/3 + 2

The only reason that's important is that decimals might get truncated after the first part, I'm not really sure. Anyways, it seemed to hold out from the little bit of testing I did, so I think that's the right formula.

You're welcome.

If someone ever hacks Elona so that we can inject text, then I'd be happy to work on the translations. I've done some stuff already that's posted to the wiki (elona main story, a few cutscenes of E+, a few quests), but I don't work on it often since it kind of sucks to read it on a webpage.

That aside, enabling cutscenes might not be easy even if someone decided to take a look at it. The triggers don't seem to exist when using the English settings (or so it seems to me). You can run Elona through the HSP compiler and make modifications to the Japanese cs script and see the changes, but even if you add the cutscenes to the English cs script they don't trigger.

I suspect that normal text though (for quests at least, perhaps not segmented text like some of the things that appear in the log) could be replaced with a DLL hook is someone knew what they were doing.

With all these equips posted I have to say, I don't know what makes a good piece. I always just look for resistances and stats. There are very few skills bonuses I actually see as useful.

If it has any craft, including gene engineering or fishing I see that as useless since I can just equip a set for that specific to it beforehand.
If it has any weapon skill I see it as pointless because I'm a mage. This includes casting since the only spell I would ever need it for is wish.

Stuff like light armor, meditation, healing, evasion those are pretty useful though. Still, I have a hard time finding things with the skills I actually see as useful in combat.

items with +skills are only worth it with two or more stars in noncombat skills (you can put on a full set for gardening/fishing/crafting etc). For combat, you want

1. resistances
2. immunity to status effects
3. specials like +spellpower, float, see invisible, protection from mutation, protection from aliens

+skill gear for combat doesn't make much difference.

I choose not to use my pets, except for those occasions when I need to bring him out to deal with some annoying beasts.

Personally I hate bomb rocks, can't stand those fuckers, so I leveled contingency and always carry a rod of change creature. In fact always carry a rod of change creature. Actually, carry 5, or more. I think I have ten on me right now. They're basically cheating.

It's possible you're spreading yourself too thin, what kind of character are you going for? Especially considering you don't want to spend plat, which you really should. Also just go spend the AP, you'll be glad you did. You don't have to every time you can, but don't intentionally wait.

I usually die when I get hit when I get hit with a bunch of debuffs and attacked by a swarm of higher level enemies. I've really tried to micromanage my debuffs by keeping holy veil up at all times and vanquishing the hexes that make it through, but sometimes it's just not enough.

I guess technically the best food would be the rare herb that helps your main stat herbed in the fusion pot. That isn't really practical though since with decent speed even a full herb garden won't produce rare herbs fast enough for more than one meal of that every few days. I usually herb a curaria or two before going into a dungeon, then herb a grand parfait to eat before leaving home.

Short answer: Herb whatever food grows the stat you currently need to raise. Don't herb rare herbs unless you have extra herb seeds and you're just reseting your shop with a full cart to produce them fast enough.

Welp, now that I've hit 250 awakened dungeons my old pets aren't lasting at all. I figure I need to either replace them or go solo.

I'm thinking of raising some low level pets from scratch. I want to use the crafted golem, the halloween head potion thrower, and something else.

I'm already level 111, is there any point in starting from low level stuff now? Do I just feed them every time they're hungry and throw kitty banks at them until they're at 400% potential? I'm pretty clueless on how to raise good pets. Also which are the best body parts to add?

>> No.13415747

Newbie here, checked the wiki but I am still confused:
1) What NPC for riding? Horse -> Kaneda Bike -> Tyrannosaurus? Give 20 body parts as penalty is ignored?

2) What items should I be hoarding? Currently keeping:

High level scrolls/books (specifically ally, change mat, enchant weap/armor, faith, flying, gain attrib, gain mat, growth, wonder)
Empty Baskets (for large picknic baskets)
Rods (to power level Itzipalt)
Ore (to power level other gods and fusion pot for pet training)
Thieves tools, pokeballs, Blue Drags, engagement jewlery,
Potions of (potential, cure corruption, Fresh water (to bless), evolution, high level healers, Restore body/spirit (blessed),
Blankets/resist gear/trade skill gear/ acid proof liquid/firproof liquid
Cards/Figures/Statues/furniture
Raw: Boots (is there anything else worth making raw or is it not worth the 1500 turn buff?).
BGM disks (any for the 76 needed for the Juke Box)

3) Is it possible to fuck up your character with levels/fame/gene engineering/low skills, etc? What should I be avoiding and setting as goals.

4) for gene engineering can I fuse low level pets into high level ones without penalty assuming it doesn't give an additional body part over limit?
I fused a level 1 Fire Crab into my God pet (defender) to give it swimming and it stayed level 20, so I assume that's fine and didn't lower anything?

5) What is the best way to level the following skills?

Pickpocket
Trade skills (specifically what materials should I be saving outside of generators). I seen a trade skill guide for skill ups a while ago
but I can't find it again)

6) What Should I be aiming for and what scales better: PV, DV, or both? What is the "best" armor class? medium for okay spell casting of buffs and use scrolls of flying on gear?

7) What should I be blessing? Potions of potential/evolution, equip, tools, and what?

This will be long, sorry.

3 farms (1 veg, 1 fruit, 1 herb/gem/magic)

2 Ranches (1 putit, 1 empty) - any suggestions?

3 storage houses

10) what is the optimal place to place My Home? I currently have it just north of Vernis

11) optimal wishes? I haven't seen one in weeks of playing after blowing all mine (mostly on skills stupidly). I already have A happy bed at etherwork level.

12) do you whip your pets to all not drink out of wells, pick up food? Do you leash them all except range or what?

13) should I be seeking secret treasure of saint/wicked? or just use neither as the both are double edged swords?

14) I hear you can have multiple levels to a house. I already have 1 staircase so should I be saving to add another level or two?

15) I have all skills trained. Should I be blowing all platinum coins on skill training? Should I be increasing the size of my cart even if just to pick up bandit ambush shit and more travelers food?

16) I dropped my cooler on death as a newbie. Only way to get another is little sister quests? If I get it back again I should just keep it next to my freezer to store high stat food that is rottable?
Is there any other way to store perishable food other than freezer/cooler?

17) What should I be spending Small Medals on? only thing worth it void lisence + herme's blood (blessed)?

18) Pet micromangement is a pain in the ass. What is the optimal stance on pets? 1-3 high leveled pets + mount? as many as you can field? solo?

1) I don't use riding but of my very limited knowledge on the matter I would think horse -> kaneda bike -> tyrannosaurus would be a good progression of things. I do remember though that there are certain pets like pascal and the lityou which are good mounts as well.
2) Not a bad list you have. I would add scrolls of gain attribute. Don't use them, you'll need them for artifact fusion.
3) You can create "setbacks" for your character but I don't think you can truly fuck them over. Sometimes your fame may outpace your character's power which will lead to random encounters on the map, such as pirate/bandit encounters, being to strong for you. Just fail a couple of quests to lose fame if that happens. As for goals, invest in every magic vendor you see, set up herb farms asap, farm medals, farm AP, get gear with good resists, and access South Tyris as soon as you can.
4) If you fuse lower level pets into your base pet stats and skills won't lower. If the pet has a body part your base doesn't have then your base pet will get that part.
5) Best way to level any skill is to just use it. Look up the skill on the wiki and see how to use it.
6) Ideally you'll want both to be high but that probably won't happen since higher PV equipment usually has lower DV and vice versa. Heavy gear tends towards high PV while light gear tends towards high DV. In general I see melee oriented players choosing heavy gear, fighter/mage types going medium, and pure wizards going with light due to casting rates being affected by heavier armor. Feel free to buck this trend though if you can make it work.
7) Bless everything. Why not? Sure maybe some things won't be affected but I'm lazy player. It's easy to get bottles of blessed water later so blessing is pretty easy to do.
8) Yes, drop water on your god's alter to bless. It should bless the entire stack if they haven't been blessed yet.
9) Castle, Unlimited Farms Works!, a handful of ranches, everything else is optional and up to you.

You can fuck up dungeon levels and there's no going back if you fuck it up. Stick to 2x-3x your level even if you are strong enough to handle dungeons 4x-5x of your own level. You'll be really fucked when you try to farm even a single awakened dungeon for jewels which you need for artifact fusions. Awakened dungeons means all monsters inside will be equal to the dungeon's level except the boss which is a little higher and all monsters will be going after you immediately.

What he's referring to is the Dungeon Danger Level or just Dungeon Level. You see the Dungeon Level when you're standing over a dungeon. The norm for people that have gotten their resist gear built up and potential problems solved is to do dungeons their lv or up to twice their lv. Anything, above that will probably require lots of cautious play and a bit of luck. Still doable though.

Now if you end up lucking out and clearing a dungeon more than twice your lv you might be happy with yourself but be forewarned that your future dungeons that appear on the map will be much harder.

If you end up getting your dungeon scaled to a level where you deem them too hard all is not lost. If you were relying on dungeons bosses for exp you'll have to shift your attention to doing panic quests. To build up your skills you can just go to the Void and grind them up. By doing a combination of the two you should eventually be able to do the dungeons that you may have felt were too hard. It's a hassle but let that be a lesson to not push your luck and to keep your dungeon levels at a comfortable range.

Seems like you've hit maybe 2 of the most common hurdles facing new players. Not enough resists and problems keeping your stat potentials high. Stat potential problems are solved, as you've mentioned already, by potions of potential. They start showing up on magic vendors at shop rank 50 but you really want their shop ranks to be at least lv 100 for them to show up consistently. So what I suggest is that you invest in each town's magic vendor. Also, if you have a house hire some magic vendors and invest in them. By doing this you'll have more people to draw from in getting potions of potentials thus upping your chance of finding them. Now investing takes money so do what it takes to earn it and save it up.

Once you have like 9 potions of potentials bless the stack. To bless them you need holy water. Get a bottle of water from finding it in dungeons, filling empty bottles with water from wells (may take a couple of tries), or use 3 medals (you can earn them from killing dungeon bosses) to get bottles of water from Garrok. Take your bottle of water to the truce grounds, find the altar of the god you worship, and drop the bottles of water on the altar. This will bless your water. Use the blessed water to bless the stack of 9 potions of potential and drink the potions of potential to get all your stats to superb.

For resists hunt for gear in dungeons you dive into or scavenge them from the puppy caves. Try to work on getting fire and cold resist up first. Then do the main quest. The main quest will take you into dungeons that will have you clear named bosses that will drop you gear that will help you out in resists. Alternatively, you can also see about earning favor with the gods as some of their gear rewards have resists.

On my current character for example, when I was low level I was in your exact boat with dungeon level (I spent an early wish on a happy bed so potentials weren't that bad). Now I'm doing level 430 dungeons at level 100. You seem to have done your research, your first character will always be slower and weaker but just have fun. That's true, and it can also be overcome with high enough gardening skill (~60-61 for herbs I think). You can never lower the wither chance below 5% per update.

Gathering during rain is the one that can't be overcome by gardening skill. At a minimum 10% of plants won't regrow. With herbs, if you harvest during a time other than rain/heavy rain, it's ~13.3%. Seems like a small difference, but 3.3% adds up over time.

Sorry, I'm not the poster you were originally responded to. I'm just clarifying regarding the effect of rain.

Yes, at your gardening level, you get no benefit from planting in the rain, only harvesting. The difficulty check for normal ticks only checks for rain on the first tick (planting). The difficulty value of the plant is doubled on the first tick if you plant it when it's not raining. However, the difficulty value for herb seeds is only 30. Doubling it is 60. The two checks to see if it withers are if your gardening skill is less than a random number between 1-60 (the difficulty value) and a static 5% chance. In other words, at 61 gardening, you can plant herbs outside of rain without penalty (so long as you do it on farm land).

I personally have 12 Kumiromi statues and haven't managed to fill up two farms, though it's growing (slowly). No god pet for me.

>> No.13419657

>>13419489
Short version: Yes, RNG can bone you regardless of your cooking skill level.

Long version:
I looked into how cooking works a few days ago but haven't posted any of it to the wiki yet, as there's some factor in play that I haven't been able to figure out.

First things first, cooked foods come in 9 tiers. 1 is the worst, 9 is the best (steak, etc.).

This is determined by a variable that we'll call CookingFactor. It's first calculated like this:

CookingFactor = Cooking + 7 + rnd(UnknownFactor)/50

As you might guess, UnknownFactor is the thing I can't figure out what it is. I only know that it's a property of the item being cooked. rnd(x) generates a number between 0 and x-1, btw.

Alright, so now, there's a check to see if CookingFactor is greater than Cooking/5 + 7. If so, then CookingFactor is reduced to that value.

Now we have the fun part.

CookingFactor = rnd(CookingFactor)

If CF is still greater than 3, we make the above roll again. The game is a bit nice to you if you got a roll of less than 3. If your cooking skill is 5 or higher and CF is < 3, then CF has a 25% chance to be set to 3. If CF is < 3 and cooking skill is 10 or higher, then there's a 33% chance CF is set to 3. Those rolls are NOT exclusive. If your cooking is 10 or higher, you get both recovery rolls.

CF is then increased by UknownFactor/100. Again, no idea what it is. Whatever CF is at this point is the quality level of the food you cooked.

At 2000 cooking, CF is capped at 407 in the first calculation. I think that comes out to roughly a 94% chance for the highest tier of food at that point.

Sorry if that explanation is confusing.

>> No.13419696

>>13419657
Oops, I should say that obviously CF gets capped at a min of 1 and a max of 9 at the end, though I guess it should have been fairly obvious.

Also, more info on cooking that I posted to the wiki as a comment:

NPCs (inc pets) gain 15x nutrition from food than the PC. Only exception is herbed food (not herbs, but herbed food), where they get 10x the effect.

There's some stuff regarding rotten foods that I won't bore anyone with.

Food of quality rank less than 3 has its nutrition halved. 3 and higher used the following formula:

Nutrition = Nutrition * (50 + QualityLevel *20)/100. Or in plain terms, a 2.3x boost for the "best" cooked item over its base form.

It's not that you get a boost to nutrition for eating food when you are "hungry" or lower, it's that you get a penalty to nutrition if you eat before then. Specifically,

If (Fullness >= 5000)
Nfactor = (Fullness - 5000) / 25
Nutrition = Nutrition * 100 / (100 + Nfactor)

That's pretty much everything interesting I found regarding food. Other than wiki values for the nutrition of base foods is significantly off, but I didn't write all the numbers down.

Found a godly pair of shoes made of glass. Gave it to my fire@dragon.
It has 'it provides a proximity assist weapon. [###]' on it. It's really nice when it triggers. Does almost triple damage.
But how does it work? I assume it's physical damage, but based on what? Does the ### influence the damage done or the chance of the invoke? Also, on what type of gear can it be found? The wiki only gave me the saber tonfa when I tried to look it up... Which is actually pretty nice considering I train that pet to be the fist of the north star.

I have 19 farms dedicated to herb farming the rest are fruit and vegetable farms. Here's what I have: 10 Kumi statues, 1 cute fairy,1 rejuvenation gem and 348 in my gardening skill. I plan on getting more Kumi statues in the future and maybe more rejuvenation gems if possible. As for what I'm doing: Tap each Kumistatue for seeds. (Some may give me herb seeds others may not but still a nice way to get seeds) After that they'll all be on cooldown. I then take my cute fairy with me and we hit Noyel. I do every single harvest quest I can find which are impossible for me to fail given my speed, gardening skill, and strength. Some of the completed harvest quests will give me 2 herbs each. Like just recently I got 6 herb seeds form doing all the harvest quests in Noyel. I got about 5 earlier from my Kumi statues. So up to 11. I then head to other towns for harvest quests while wrecking the shit out of dungeons along the way. Some towns have harvest quests which I do and if I'm lucky I'll get more herb seeds. All this adventuring around makes my fairy hungry. When I feed her she has a chance to drop an herb seed. Also, after adventuring around for a bit the statue cooldowns expire so I go to them and begin another collection. So after all this I'll have like 20 or more herb seeds. This doesn't take me too long. So I then bless my stack of herb seeds and then go out to my farm. I only plant my seeds in the brown dirt areas of my farms. By doing this I get the most out of my herb seeds. When they're ready to farm I harvest my herbs and due to high gardening skill and planting on the dirt chances are very high that a free herb plant will be grown in its place. Also, I never nip dead plants. I use Kumi's rejuvenation stone on them. I then loop through this entire process again and again and now I have all these herb farms. I also have a ranch where I'm trying to confirm whether or not you can breed more cute fairies.

If you give them to your party give them only one and only when they can eat it. Else it will only rot in their inventory.

I don't consume all my herbs in one go. I just infuse my herbs and eat whenever my character falls into the hungry state. To save on herbs whenever I'm sleepy I just let my pet make me breakfast. As for getting other things done I have plenty of time for everything else when I'm waiting on cooldowns to refresh and towns to restock with harvest quests. During that downtime I'm usually dungeon diving for medals, gold, and skill/spell training. The other farms I have are fruit and vegetable farms and with my ranches producing a steady stream of eggs I have 3/4 of the ingredients to create large picnic baskets which I also use side by side with herbing because large picnic baskets help in maintaining my stat potentials. With my herb farms allowing me to herb infuse stuff, ranches and other farms contributing to large picnic baskets, and pet cooking me breakfast I have a constant stream of stuff helping me in boosting my stats.

Alchemy needs more recipes! At least some of the buff and curse potions would be nice.

Is herbed nutrition affected by the quality of the food ? ( steak etc )
No because i tend to herb the base component and cook on the fly, but i may have wasted quite a bit this way if it's affected.

So I beat Siva last night. Once you get past 1000 speed he's actually really easy. Now I'm thinking I'll go beat the other chaos forts in south tyris. What are your opinions on the vital flayer? 2.2x spell multiplier is amazing, but the stat loss is horrible.

I'm quickly approaching 200 too. I've been grinding Nefias every chance I get to artifact fuse, I've made an extremely nice speed ring and some other things so far.
What do you mean 100m cap? I thought the level cap was 2000. My stats are always as superb potential but like you said, you can gain multiple levels per awakened dungeon floor so they still don't keep up, even with my kumi statues.

Still, I've gotten two speed 11 core drops and a few other stat ones. I really like the artifact fusion system.

Can anyone tell me what that says? I've always been curious

Even if you're at 600 speed he's still easy when your skill levels aren't shit

No. The nutrition gain from herbed food is entirely separate from that of the food itself.

>Can anyone tell me what that says? I've always been curious

It says "Onii-chan" over and over again.

Hope you're not confusing Estork the Doggod with Siva the Destruction. Siva has 2000 speed and would run laps around someone with only 600 speed. He regularly does 3000 or more damage as well. So what skill levels in your eyes aren't shit?

Will the mag-abyss stack with insanity staff/vital flayer? I know it can go up to 2.5x but I don't know if multiple pieces will both contribute to that.

>>13424385
Is that the guy that drew the only elona fan art? I gotta look him up.

thx anon.

I think the mag abyss and insanity staff will stack but will not cross the 2.5x threshold if it does.

Ok thanks, I tried using the objet of heart to figure it out but I couldn't figure out which bit was spell enhancement.

I use a keyboard.

http://elona.wikia.com/wiki/Controls

for a list of useful commands and how to do them. Edit config.txt in your Elona folder if you need to remap keys.
