This thread is for the discussion of untranslated Japanese visual novels.
What are you playing? What are you looking forward to? What have you finished? You know how it goes.

Just finished Wakaba's route and it was, well pretty average I guess. The drama at the end of route was really uninteresting, ichaicha scenes were not bad but not good either, I didn't like how did they become lovers & confess scenes as well.

The good things were just her personality and having 3 different hairstyle, so a really average route for me. If other routes also same with this, I'll be a little disappointed with it.

I guess you already know that Otome games in particular love having male hero(es?) be the ドS archetype, at least from what I've seen. Jooubachi no Oubou being one of the few exceptions to come to my attention, or actually bothered to look up before, since otome games tend to bore me to death worse than a bad moege for some reason. Also, I really wasn't interested enough for some reason to actually give that game a try myself even though I like dominant type heroines and wouldn't mind a female protagonist that was the same way.

Looks like some of the English-original ones sold pretty well. Then again, they're short titles launched on a popular platform like Steam for really cheap. Longer titles that launch for $30-$40 don't seem to sell much though. Considering how localized eroge already cost half of what they do in Japan (plus non-importers being used to paying far cheaper prices for their games), the tokuten model doesn't seem like it'd work.

Not him and I sincerely don't think you need Wittgenstein to understand any theme, as they are pretty much philo 101. But if really there's need for it, I can guarantee narrowing those themes down to one or two aphorisms would not be enough. More than anything, Sakura seems to be about not the sense, but the noumenal reference, so it's more easy tying it to On Certainty and Remarks on Colour than anything else. I've been reading X-Change Alternative 2 under suggestion from someone in these threads.
I picked it up because I was told this would explore the Gender Bender aspect beyond the usual "I'm a girl now I must suck 80 dicks", but the game has a tremendous amount of purple prose, not to mention entire scenes spent talking about inconsequential stuff, like what's on the table or what the characters are watching on TV.

I haven't reached the GB part yet, and I don't know if it just seems even longer because of my poor Japanese requiring me to read slowly, but I'm hours into the VN and there's not even a slight setup of what might be the GB change.

This one is 100% lie, both of them says that they hated asuka and the entire Inori route was about how Asuka fucked up her life with betraying her and how MC could fix her. He was a scumbag for Inori, let alone "love". Even mc gets disappointed about him at Inori's route.

That 昔の男 is the brother of Inori and a friend of ayano. Seems like Inori's and his parents were too strict for them and he'd always do whatever himself want and let Inori deal with their parents. In the end Inori and their parents has gone into a different country while he just stayed at japan. Thanks to that Inori's parents became even stricter for her, And her personality fucked up because of that.

In short Inori just hates him. For ayano well she also says a couple of times that She hated Asuka because he always pushed troublesome things to her, but she also wanted to become like him and thanks to him she could find her new side so also have some positive feelings, not love though.

Btw Asuka was an important character for MC as well.

I finished it a little while ago, my overall impression was it was fairly boring. It had good atmosphere along with fantastic music, and while it always had a new development happening, the developments were just nothing. For example at the start you search for the mystery of the disappearing chalk.

I don't think it was terrible, it just felt very stale. I think it would've worked a little better if they slowed down and tried to develop the plot a little more, or had a single focus; for instance focusing on the supernatural elements, or Ouka's wacky ghost detective adventures. I like that it was always moving forward, but it never felt like it was moving towards anywhere in particular.

In short an solid game, but not very interesting.

I liked Sinsemilia a lot, it is better to go into it looking at it as a decent charage rather than something that's going to blow you away plot wise and just take the rest as it comes. Especially considering the underlying plot is not even really addressed at all until the true route and most of the side routes are just used to drop bits and pieces of information about what's going on behind the scenes. In my opinion the true route and what comes right before it is really good in terms of plot, but YMMV. Sakuya had the best route and best relationship with the MC.

Read it if you like incest, rural Japanese settings full, and Japanese mythology.

Don't come anywhere near it if you want a complete game. I thought the prologue was great, and the common route was okay, but the routes are hilariously unfinished. It felt like jment ran out of time and just wrote out a few of the key scenes in each route and some transitions so the reader would end up with a general idea of what he intended to happen in the route. I still enjoyed the game, but don't go in expecting anything decent.

It's also funny because I just finished reading ソレヨリノ前奏詩 from last month before this and there was a vibrator scene too, and several other actually rage inducing scenes, but nothing like this happened.

So? Normal people don't play niche Taiwanese porn games.
If a game has used goods or ntr even it shouldn't be advertised as a junai moege with cute pure girls.

How is a girl not "pure" just because she has sexuality like every other human being ever? It's only a matter of time until eroge heroines will all have to undergo genital mutilation so they're unable to feel sexual pleasure.

Uh, we're talking about a girl who used a vibrator here. She didn't have sex with anyone. But it's haram for a heroine to have a sexuality that isn't entirely dependent on the protagonist's existence.

Just about to start it's my own invention and so far I've got to say the best thing about the VN so far is the visual design. I mean, ignoring the quality of the CGs, just stuff like the ghost's design is incredibly disconcerting and quite creepy, despite being such a simple design.
