If your issue was with spam, you'd have to concede that nothing listed in >>13330913 classifies as such.

The entire argument is misconceived. /jp/ was unbrowsable shit for the last 4 years because THERE WAS NOTHING TO DISCUSS. Why anyone has ever wanted to narrow acceptable topics, particularly in this inarticulate and seemingly arbitrary way, is utterly beyond me.

>> No.13331122

No need to be terrified.
Lets take a look. Our board is called Otaku culture.

>All images and discussion should pertain to light and visual novels, figures and other otaku paraphernalia, Touhou Project, Vocaloid, doujin works and music, and diverse niche Japanese interests (kigurumi, idols, mahjong, tea).

See, thats already a handful of good topics.
Within that spectrum are most general threads, the 80s ones etc.

And as mentioned, if someone wants to talk about onaholes and what not I am fine with that aslong as its not just spamming things without actual content.

Now, there are a lot of more different otakus in the world. Photography, videos, even books and games. Whatever it is. Aslong as it is Japan related it fits /jp/.

That is my honest opinion and that is what the board should look like. This doesnt mean it must be full of normies, since almost noone wants that.

Now there have been some funny spammed threads in the past so a few isn't that bad, but not dozens. who cares? it's an imageboard. if people want to share images with each other they can do that. every now and then people have an argument about something but the vast majority of those discussions happened years ago.

new content boosts discussion. when SoPM came out people discussed that. outside the ZUN cycle not much happens except fanart and the occasional doujinshi people find worth talking about.

It's clear that the Touhou character and body part threads are inhabited by the same people day after day, and are no different from the idol generals in that respect (except with even less unique posters).

The problem is that there are tens of these overlapping circlejerks (they literally hook up on foolz for gay roleplay) up at the same time and they contribute nothing except spamming the catalog.

Now all the people who aren't interested in pony, er, Touhou bellies have left for /a/ and only the cancer is left. And the cancer won't leave because their friends are here.

Are you the same guy who said that other guy didn't know how imageboards worked?

Imageboards are for discussion, not for dumping.

We have boards specially for the containment of dumping. Every other board is for discussion, usually with posts accompanied by images, although people aren't obliged to post images with their posts.

Here, it's not people sharing images with one another, but one or two people dumping images from other sites en masse, or reposting old images en masse accompanied by erotic roleplay and "banter".

Fine, spam can act as flamebait in a limited number of circumstances, but that doesn't inhibit its classification or capacity to be easily moderated. I don't frequent monstergirl threads myself, but I don't see why people wouldn't come to just ignore and report such imagefloods, particularily if it's been demonstrated that argumentation doesn't work. That's clear cut and actionable.

The issue is that spam isn't inherently trolling and vice-versa. All of this is extraneous to the point of shitposting not being constituted of either of these things in its original definition.

I''ll elaborate. The keyword is "and". 4chan is not, and never will be the go to place to get and share images. The primary purpose of an imageboard is to use images as a vehicle of discussion, not a place to simply look at and save them. The internet was, and still is saturated with places you can anonymously download and save images.

If the image dumping boards were never created for whatever reason, you would see far more dumping threads than the paltry few that seem to have lost their way.

I only come onto this board occasionally, I spend more time on the chan of the number known only as eight now (which I'm sure they still filter the actual name of, more reasons why this site is so shitty now).
