Kumiromi Gemstones of Rejuvenation or Kumiromi Statues?
(from the Little Sisters quest)

>> No.13321889

>>13321586
>Kumiromi Statues
No reason not to get both if you're so inclined but I would prioritize getting the statues over the gemstones.

I use the gemstones for revival mainly instead of hurrying the growth process since I like to harvest all my plants at one time. I don't really have a problem with dead plants since my gardening is high and I typically bless the seed stacks before I begin farming. Having said that you'll still get a handful of dead plants so it might be beneficial to have a handful of gemstones but don't go crazy with it.

So my advice would be to get a handful of gemstones but get as many statues as you can. You want herb seeds the most because they will help in stat building. Between the statues, harvest quests, and fairy droppings you should be able to have a couple of farms dedicated to growing an herb food supply. Make sure to plant your seeds in the soil areas of your farms so when you harvest then you get the chance of automatically planting a free herb seed.

Statue farming is basically pointless if you have a little setup

Step 1: Get your salary higher than your tax (castle rank 1, shop rank 1, museum rank 1, money at hand as low as possible)
Step 2: Put a salary chest + taxtbox in maid mansion
Step 3: Have the Opatos special gift that lowers speed by over 1300

Optional Steps if your speed is over 1370 before swimming buff and (+20% speed because alone) buff
Optional 1: Either have a few super heavy items like altars at hand, something, anything that puts you at overweight (but not so much that you take damage)
Optional 2: Run your stamina into the ground to -100, but not recommended if you have kumiromi as active god
Optional 3: Equipment with minus speed

Step 4: Go to the Ocean Palace in Valm
Step 5: Lower speed to 10
Step 5: With 10 speed, you can press space bar once and slightly over 24 hours pass instantly.
Step 6: Return every 3 1/2 months to maid mansion via return spell to avoid massive karma loss
Step 6 Optional 1: never leave anything valuable behind on the ocean palace map when you leave

Optional Step 7: Get some well wishes every now and then since you'll be passing years in hours like this. Having a bunch of ranches with low breed power monsters that have high yield can also be useful.

It depends, actually. For a PC, spending MP to cast a heal spell will ALWAYS be more MP efficient than barrier spending MP to tank damage. BUT, barrier doesn't require an action.
If you take damage slowly, you don't spend too many actions healing and barrier sucks because you're burning MP faster than needed.
If you take damage quickly, barrier will noticeably increase the amount of actions you can take before you start having to spend actions on healing. And that can easily win fights.

I don't have access to South Tyris yet so I can't use the Ocean Palace for your interesting time trick. Having said that I'm not connecting the dots between your time trick and getting more herb seeds. Where in your post do you tie your time trick to you getting 591 herb seeds?

Since there is a cooldown timer for using the Kumi statues to generate seeds the time trick you mention would actually come in handy to negate the cooldown letting you generate more seeds right? The effect is even more impressive with if you farmed more statues since you'll have more statues to draw seeds from?

Not really. A pet that is even remotely near your own strength will vastly outweigh 400 speed at that point.

400 extra speed means a lot when you only have 100. When you have 2000, it's nowhere near as big. The only thing it matters against are inner gods and capped enemies from the void / awakened dungeons, but against those, 400 speed means a single extra turn over your opponent for every five turns. If you haven't been neglecting pets, they should easily be worth more than that.

Not that it matters. Play long enough and you'll get every feat you want from secret treasure of kumiromi.

>> No.13334401

>>13334064
The tradeoff is a bit more involved than that. There's basically two playstyles in the late-lategame, Riding or Solo.

Riding means you ride a speed= 2000 pet, you have additional pets to meatshield or DPS as needed, you take the Ether disease that gives PV for -speed, and you can freely get additional body parts up to max limit. The down side is that pets' Swimming doesn't kick in when they're being ridden and also can't get ether diseases, so your max unbuffed speed is capped at 2000 + 300 (soma) + 800 (speed) + Equipment.

Solo style means you get no pets (except utility pets that you call out temporarily then put away), you don't get body parts past 13, but you can max swimming and use the perma-wet jewel for an additional +1000 speed, abuse ether diseases for +510, and get the +400 Kokou bonus. Total speed = 2000 + 300 (Soma) + 800 (Speed) + 1000 (Swimming) + 510 (Ether) + 400 (Kokou) +Equipment.

tl;dr: soloing with right kind of grinding makes you almost twice as fast.

Interestingly enough, snails benefit more than other non-debug races in solo, due to body parts distribution.

>> No.13334420

>>13334401

No, it's really not more involved than that. At 2k speed, 400 extra speed nets you an extra turn over a 2k speed opponent for every 5 turns. Your other speed bonuses don't matter; if you're at 4k speed from other things, then gain an additional 400, you will have two turns for every one turn of the enemy, with an additional (3rd) turn on every 5th "round".

A good pet is worth more than one turn for every five rounds.

And those are definitely not the only high-level playstyles. Literally the only part of the 2nd build that can't be done with a pet is kokou.

well, it depends on what the metric is.

are you more powerful with a few maxxed-out pets following you? sure. but they also get in the way of things. you have to micromanage them a bit. sometimes they kill things they're not supposed to. also, more gear to grind for, and bigger chance of getting cursed. finally, it's harder to grind yourself up. petmasters are generally less powerful than soloing players of the same playtime (much better metric than level).

playing solo is simpler and more streamlined. and you'll become powerful enough to kill anything, anyway, albeit slower.

That shouldn't be a problem at that point. I got piles of leftover precious weapons that I'm itching to use. I enjoy making up new playstyles for pets and building them around certain weapons.

You're right about petmasters being weaker though. Since I'm lazy and prefer to have my pets do everything, I have six pets that are over twice as powerful as I am. But that's the playstyle I prefer. Just a lazy NEET gathering materials in dungeons while my cute girl harem slaughters everything.
Melee pets, shooty pets, casting pets, buff pets, debuff pets, healing pets, tanking pets, material gathering pets, I built up my team so I don't have to do anything except just walk around and occasionally heal or shoot.

It's a good feel when you protected your original little girl for the majority of the beginning and now she's a Valkyrie killing Atlases while you run away.

When simply comparing a good pet vs kokou, when we're talking about at/near stat/skill cap, the pet will win. 400 speed just can't compare to another capped/near-capped ally.

You're right in that you can do anything in the game with essentially any playstyle though, and people should really play whatever they get the most enjoyment from. I personally do two pets. Anything more just gets too tedious for me.

Make sure they have pickpocket, and let them get all the kills. If they're noticeably weaker than you and you have Knockout, run around in a dungeon just slapping all the bitches and letting her kill them for money. That should pretty quickly get her potentials maxed out every time you hit a town. Then it's just grindan.

>Also, how do spells work with pets? Do they level up as well?
Pets cast spells with a flat 95% success rate, and a spell level equal to their casting skill. So all that +casting gear that's useless to you is a godsend to a pet mage.

Why is your total AP gain so low but you have that high speed? Did you ranch quicklings instead?

>> No.13339013

>>13338951
The majority of my speed came from blessed Hermes Blood. There was a long period of time where I spent all the gold medals I stashed up on them due to my goal of beating Frisia. I figured one way to do this was to get my speed around her level so that's what I set out to do. The feat Kokou and random potions of upper speed have also helped in this endeavor. I no longer am actively raising my speed though and am now using all my medals on scrolls of growth.

I personally don't feel like my AP grain is slow at all. I've already spent 4000 points on various abilities and I have another 2000 to spend(Think this is the cap amount you can get before you have to go on a spending spree). Not sure what I can get though. I already have everything I want and I haven't reached Irva yet to...lol...add more speed using AP. Anyhow, maybe the reason why I don't feel like it's slow is because I'm doing dungeons lv 150 - 200 ? Almost all the enemies in these dungeons give me AP gains.

I noticed that the god pets have 150 mana, which I suppose would give them a whole crapton of MP. Is it a good idea to train my android to be a magic user rather than a gunner? Is using magic as effective for pets as it is for the player?

>> No.13339534

>>13336668
Doujou currently isn't that amazing, so just use it as a temporary holding spot for pets if you need it.

The amount of money needed for a pet to train themselves depends on the starting level you got them at, so a pet you had since the beginning will be able to train on pennies the entire game.
Hence, giving her pickpocket will soon lead to maxed potentials in skills and attributes, making training a breeze.

If you want to speed things up, put a lot of money in a kittybank, throw it, and have your little girl pick up all the money. She'll max her potentials for sure next time you are in town.

Herbed food given to pets, with good potentials, will give stat gains in every attribute, including speed. Sometimes even multiple points in one attribute.

Your speed seems pretty poor, you should consider picking up riding and getting a good horse. A 4.0-4.3 weight weapon suffers near zero riding penalty, so you can keep two-handing while mounted if you find a weapon with a good weight.

Get some small medals and go to miral and garok's workshop for easy rods of domination.

HP requirement? Are you talking about bringing their HP down to almost nothing? You can't guarantee a capture, but you can throw a poison and pray that they're critically wounded on your turn and that your monster ball hits, which can be done pretty much at the start of the game. Otherwise, if they die, then hey, you're a bit richer.

>throw a poison
At early-game speeds it always kills them before the player's next turn. I didn't start seeing them still alive on my next turn until I had speed over 200. Even then, you're relying on the minute chance that it lands them at that sliver of HP remaining and that your monsterball hits them at whatever range they're at. I stand by what I said before: by the time that works out for you, you won't need the bell anymore.

If you want a bell just get a rod of domination, they're basically free.

I drink blessed restores. Do claws not cause spell failure chance?

I never like using the slave trader. Just feels impersonal I guess. I want my pets to have personality, if that makes sense.

Oh right, I knew there was a way to reliably get them, just couldn't remember. Thanks anon.

I've got my small castle, so who should I be hiring as a shopkeeper in addition to my maid? Is the best policy just to have all magic vendors in hopes of beneficial potions/books, or is there a wiser strategy?

Claws do not impose a penalty on casting. Do you use spells that inflict status effects on your enemies? It's generally worthwhile to throw a Dark/Nerve Eye or some kind of poison at any particularly threatening enemy types to almost completely disable them provided that they aren't very resistant to it.

Just get the highest level pet that you can get and replace it everytime you get another 10 levels. Suits you quite well

I'm level 34 and I have no idea how pets work

Do I give them gold so they automatically train their skills?

Do I splice desirable traits from one pet to another using the gene machine? Is there a list of better pets to splice from?

I've played most of the game with a perma dead golden knight and I just don't know how to get the godly OP pets you smart people have.

There's two ways to petdom.
The first is to get one that is weak ( low INI, as in low starting stats and life/mana ) so that its potential get to 400% and stay there forever.
The second is dominating pet around your level each time the precedent begin to be weak.

Pet train potential by using gold they have in town.
They get gold in three ways : grabbing it from the ground, by selling ore they grabbed/you gave them in town and then using the gold, or by using the pickpocket skill to grab gold from eack of their kills and then spending said gold in town.
Letting your pet grab the dungeon reward from killing a boss is a popular way is giving them monies, as is breaking a kitty bank you previously dumped gold into.
Pickpocket is superior though, splice it into them as soon as possible.

Pets can be resurrected by speaking to a bartender in pubs. The guy in white or the maid.
Also the spell, but you're not there yet.

Pets don't train their skills with gold. They train skills with usage. Pets spend gold when you visit towns to improve their potentials. If you never let your pets fight, giving them gold isn't going to help much. It shouldn't take much to get a pet strong enough to pull its weight at your level. Just give it some good gear, a strong weapon and try to let it score some kills every so often. If you want to speed that process up, let them pick up expensive ores or quest/dungeon reward money or throw a Kitty Bank at them. All of your pets should have Pickpocketing so they get gold passively by killing things and one of them should have Cooking.

Does the INI of a pet change after evolution?
I'm fixing the stat of an old save file with elosnack and I want to know if I need to use the base value or, for example. count the +50 life the cat princess get after evolution.

Different anon here looking to keep some pets more permanently.
What is INI? So could I just catch a yeek and train it to be a killing machine with the same effect as eventually catching something higher level?

Should I just grind little sisters to get a bunch of kumi statues and feed them endless herbs?

Yes, unless you're using loads of pets, in which case you should grind both the best heal you have AND healing rain.

So I want to raise one of the potion throwing pumpkins. I know you can evolve them and make them throw pretty potent stuff, but I still feel like they might be a bit lacking after awhile.

How can I raise it so that it won't be a burden later into the game? Since I just want it to throw potions I guess stats that don't give it health won't matter. So should I just gene in burly pets and give it lots of gold to raise its throw potential?

Probably speed so it can chuck potions at everything that moves. I think the potion throwing lady might be more useful because of her evolutions
