I only support 2D idols when they're also Seiyuu (Yukarin, Nana, Mingosu, Aya Uchida, PILE, KitaEri, Megumi Nakajima and so on). I'd like to go to events but I'm poor, I occasionaly buy the odd CD but most of my money goes towards eroge and figures instead.

So, I get where the word 'idol' comes from. But does anyone litereally idolize these people/characters?

The thought of actively researching about someones life, spending time reading their twitters and whatnot idol fans do Is already beyond me but actually idolizing them. I can hardly believe we live in times where this is present.

If I happen to like an idol its purely because of her appearance. I just like how beautiful/cute she is to me.
