Why doesn't AC IIDX have the same fixed scroll speed settings as LR2? It makes so much sense.
I'm not talking the ones that normalize BPM changes, just the max/min/average ones so you don't need to adjust floating high speed to your ideal green number for each song.

I don't understand why the scroll speed was ever based on BPM to begin with.

What do people usually do when playing with hidden +, for songs that have a very slow BPM at first and become fast? It completely fucks it up, I know you can start + scratch tu put the speed back to usual but you're guaranted to have a few miss when doing that from a switch from 30 to 300bpm, so how do players who aim for perfection do it?

Been a fan of IIDX since 9th style but had to quit around Gold CS. Recently picked the series back up and fiddlin' around with LR2. Are there any decent USB converters that work with a USKOC? I know the easy solution is to slap down money for a nice ASC but I can't do that atm.

I wouldn't recommend using a gutted gamepad for the PCB though, you can either pick up something fancy that'll allow for game-controlled lighting like an arcin or if you're feeling particularly cheap you can just pick up one of those zero delay encoders off ebay for like $9 if you don't mind having no button lights. Keep in mind you'll have to make your own wires though since the ones they come with aren't long enough, but you can crimp them back into the same connectors and won't need to solder anything.

after spending a while in these threads and participating a bit I've come to a few conclusions (regarding iidx)

the overall skill level is relatively low

a good portion of the players are eager to get better

similarly, a good portion of the players have poor opinions or themselves and lack confidence in their ability to improve

and a tip: don't involve yourself in drama, or the affairs of other players, or what's going on with whatever sows nonsense people follow. it's a distraction and you don't need it. I've seen good players derailed by drama, it's just not useful

I would very much like to see these threads become chockablock with high level players. believe in yourself and practice iidx as you would any other difficult skill. it's not as hard as you think--every single player has experienced a feeling of such and such a thing being impossible in the game, and people overcome it time and time again

every single person has the ability to play iidx at a high level if they just put the work in. sometimes that involves changing your playstyle, or playing charts that are new and challenging to you, or grinding a useful chart over and over, or even working to change your mindset. everyone's journey is different

it's an adventure, and with love for the game and hard work, you will succeed anon!

You mean you have C rating on most things you play?On IIDX? Seems like shit accuracy, I never ever pass a song with a C. I'm breaking into 9s and I often fail 9s with A, passing almost means A, occasionally B

Tricoro and later use a different timing system that makes that guide obsolete. All that matters is how stable the FPS reading is, yours should be fine.

As long as you can hit TT+1/2 you're good, that being said if you're playing 7s now's the best time to make sure your technique's solid. If you're not already playing with something like 1048 I'd recommend changing to that (for fucks sakes use your thumbs), hitting a wall because of your playstyle is awful.

But as long as your techniques good you don't really need to pay the TT much attention till mid 11s/low 12s (with the exception of Mass Mad Izm songs) when more scratch heavy stuff starts to comes up.

what [>>13271919] said

or you can never work on timing in your life and as long as you play enough and keep pushing you'll still aaa 12s easily eventually. they won't be high scores, but you'll get there. timing shit is boring as shit, and working on timing even more so. comboing's more fun

Practice timing on 3s through 8s. A LOT.1s and 2s are too easy/boring to practice with and if you're not getting AAs on 7s with minimal effort, going into 9s and higher with the intent of timing isn't going to do you jackshit. Hell, some 8s are cutting it close.

Lately, when I do warm ups, I won't go into anything higher than a 9 until I at least get one AAA at the start of the session on something rated between 3 and 5, and then I try to sightread some 7s I haven't gotten around to yet. Working my way up makes timing harder charts feel a bit more natural to me. This obviously won't apply to everyone, so take my advice with a grain of salt as someone who has cleared only like a dozen 12s since starting to play again around a month ago.

There's two arcades in my city, one with piu and one with ddr and ended up getting into ddr.

So glad I did. Definitely more of a challenge due to the scoring system. The pad layout is better as well, the way piu pads are crossovers are pretty much nonexistent, same goes with the charts. There's a far more support for DDR in my area as well.
