I got lucky once on north route and Myouko managed to get a DA on the boss on yasen while my fleet sustained minimal damage.

Now every time I try again either yasen node fucks me up or everyone gets molested by the BBs at boss. Literally just had a run there that could have succeeded if bearno wasn't already orange and ktkm didn't miss.

3 CV(L) with 1 shitty divebomber, 3 radars/saiuns/anything that increases accuracy, 1BB for second round of shelling equipped with 1 shitty red gun, 1 shitty yellow gun, your best seaplane and your best radar to allow day cut-in (this is to ensure they don't steal MVP), 1SS with engines if you have them to tank the damage and the flag is either a CA with your best equipment for double attack setup or a CV(L) with your absolute best planes.

For CA grinding I do the following:
CA Flag with a normal DA setup, a BBV with one or two zuiuns, 3 DDs, CLs or CAs (as long as they don't outdamage your Flag) and a sub.
That's not really fatigue grinding I know, but it works like a charm for me. You do need to rotate your sub and escorts, but it still is pretty smooth.
Honestly, I hate fatigue grinding cause it never works out for me from the get-go. You should do something called flag-proxying - get a different Flag for a while, run 3-2 with the second flag until all your CV(L)s are at red, THEN set the ship you actually want to level as flag so the CVLs almost never steal MVP during the normal attack phases.

This one doesn't have any downtime whatsoever. You can grind indefinitely and your ships (aside from the SS) will never need to be repaired. assuming you have enough submarines to replace the heavily damaged ones but given their quick repair times you should be able to go non-stop.

16 runs of 3-1 without a boss node, which i need for the CarDiv 5 quest.
I'm not even mad anymore, just confused.

I have been stuck at 4-4 for past week at 2 to 4 attempts per day. I hit boss node twice in a row for my start, but now at least one ship gets hit to taiha by BB:s or a CV at node G. or the fleet gets redirected to J.

Im running 2CV 1FBB 2DD 1CA(V) All kai´d and at 5 star modernization. Am I doing something wrong or is the RNG trolling me? This is turning into a more expensive repeat of 3-2.

Should I actually use my damecons?

Also, how many buckets should I have in reserve for the event? Started in mid feb 2015 and I now have about 160.

Choukai: Double attack
Kirishima K2: AP cut-in (not like it mattered)
Poi K2: Double attack

At the end I only got few scratches here and there except for Hiryuu which got chuuha's on first node. There was no need to enter night battle.
I got lucky with no-sub pattern but you don't have to kill the sub to clear the map. Don't equip Zuiun if you're using CAV.

If your levels are low, you might consider sparkling.

400 buckets should be enough to clear the event and farm a bit. Don't worry, you can get 20+ buckets a day.

Guess I don't have to get the guidebook after all if this comes with a poster of it.

Finally cleared 2-5 a second time with 4fbb 2cv, but instead of beil, it goes beihl.

Does this mean more fuel is consumed? Does the wiki show the consequences of running out of fuel?

Craft them. You have pretty much the same chance for Hachi, Goya and Imuya plus Shimakaze and Yukikaze.
In 1-5 before HQ40 you can only get Imuya and Goya, after HQ40 Iku from boss, only after HQ80 Iku and Hachi from both boss and preboss. Drop rated of subs at 1-5 are also scaled with HQ.

There's no reason not to farm buckets now. It's more efficient to do it while resource regen is active and focus on resources once you go above the regen cap. Most of the bucket consumption comes from hard moding the final map, though.

I cleared it earlier this month with boats that had an average level of 50.
It's not hard, just slap some engines or extra evade gear on any boats that can't dodge. Getting to the boss node is the difficult part since I got taihas pre-boss on 5-6 runs. But the boss was easy, 100% kill rate. You will get 1-2 taihas on the boss node, but should be able to destroy it at yasen.
