In my experience Perfume has a rare sound and mood amongst the rest of Jpop. Basically, anything else besides kyary or other music Nakata touches you won't find the same kind of sound.
As long as you are aware of that try exploring momoclo and team syachihoko for ridiculous japanese idol fun.

Both these groups are centered on unique identities and have great music in their own right. I don't know how much you've explored idol groups as a genre so it might be hard to appreciate these groups at first but after listening to a lot of AKB48 and the sub groups I can say they are much more fresh and original that the typical pure/innocent idol groups that flood the genre.
I really like stardust in general; they treat their idols fairly well from what I've seen.

Also check out Ling Tosite Sigure. One of my favourite Japanese alt rock bands.
