Hi /jp/! What's some good doujin music you would recommend me

I quite liked Shibayan, and am fond of orchrestrial music as well

also, Touhou doujin music thread
Remember to take it easy

One time I downloaded a bunch of different albums from the comiket spreadsheet and started listening

After like 10 albums that I didn't like I got exhausted and gave up

I figured I would wait until I saw people post about the albums here and then download, or wait to see when they played on an otaku interent radio station I listen to that sometimes plays doujin music

also my mom thinks its weird that people call them albums today because apparently ``album'' only means a physical vinyl record in a jacket

"Intense energy" isn't a very good objective standard for a song's quality. I actually like the other song because of it's relaxing tempo which not only helps capture the bitter-sweet melancholy of Autumn, but it's lyrics as well, which all tie together. ENS fag here

older techno-y albums: Lucent Wish > Sacred Factor > Felsic Mirage > Lyrical Crimson > Scattered Destiny

transitional hardcore/trance: Solitude Blossom > Split Theory > Uncanny Instinct (non2hu) > Dione Aggregation > Definite Energy

newer lots of EDM: Auxiliary Brightness > Infect Paranoia (non2hu) > Blaze Out > Mindless Act > Rewind Amnesia > Limited Dimension (non2hu) > Proof Presence > Spectral Rejection

only ones i wouldn't recommend are scattered destiny and proof presence, but even those have decent songs on them. for me, solitude blossom and split theory are fucking tops.

Some people just don't like it because it's lossy and I believe his rips are at around 160k, so if you want an MP3 of it you'll have to deal with a low quality transcode. But hey, it's better than nothing. I'd take a 64k rip over nothing any day. I think some of the earlier rips are MP3s though, he changed it to MPC to stop people from streaming it or something like that.

I wish there was an estimated size as well though. That would make everything a lot easier. Maybe we'll get a size one of these days.

I've been listening to touhou shit for probably the past 6 years but this is the first time I've posted in /jp/. Is it me or has the music output drastically decreased in the past 3 years? My understanding is that TD and DDC were not very popular in the music department except for maybe 1-2 tracks in each game. Also a lot of doujin circles disbanded (at least silver forest is back together for now), started kancolle shit, or started cracking down on illegal distribution in the west.

Regardless, I'm finding it harder and harder to find music that I like. Really lightly I've been listening to Shinra-bansho, Buta-otome and a few other groups. It feels like I'm only finding maybe 1-2 good new songs every 2 months or so. I just can't seem to find any happy/upbeat electronic music lately. The lossless music torrent doesn't seem to have been updated in a long ass time either. So little stuff from last comiket has trickled down too.

I know that, but I'm not particularly fond of umbrella terms. I cringe everytime when somebody says (trust me, there's folk who do) that Hardstyle or Gabba is EDM since you can dance to it and it's electronic music....
For me there's quite a difference there.

This circle really has some nice tracks.
ENS and Digital Wing/Halozy are both great, with a lot of variety that isnt strictly of a single genre.

Three of my favorite tracks

There has to be something more fucking specific to describe this stuff, though. Vocal trance? Electronic dance-pop? People have invented a million subgenres, it's hard to believe there's nothing that fits just right.

I'd rather put most of it into vocal trance, with a few tracks being more on the techno side.

Some of DW is pretty hands-up, though:

I'll never understand the notion TD's OST was unpopular except for one or two, I thought it had a lot of great tracks its one of the few times I've liked most of the songs in a game. I especially love what dBu did with his take on TD giving a lot of the songs their own character.

There is also:
- Deskband Controls for the miniplayer on the taskbar;
- Waveform Seekbar for the... waveform seekbar;
- Quick Tagger for a rating macro;
- This shitty Lyric Show Panel 3 that only finds really mainstream songs.

>you just don't remove tracks from an album
Just watch me.
I have neither the space nor the time to keep relistening huge chunks of music, after 2 listen-throughs I gotta decide what goes away and what gets to the third, final audition for archival.
I will only keep an album if at least 8/10 of its tracks are good. Happens about 3 times a Comiket.

Don't worry anon, I delete tracks I don't like as well. No point in keeping something on there which you're going to skip anyways right? Only off the playlist though, someone might want the album sometime which only exists in dead links, and I wouldn't want to send them an incomplete album.

You need to create a new column in the columns UI preferences with %play_count% as display value. It's pretty useful.

Foobar saves this in a database as well, so if you're moving from one computer to another, you can export&import plays and rating data.

I will soon start deleting, unFLACing and correcting tags.
