Saber Lily is just a thin euphemism for yuri.

I thought saber was already lawful good. But white armor means you're more good than someone in plain gunmetal and blue. Absolute good?

More likely it means the 'Good' part is gone and now she's an Inevitable or something, a being of pure Law

The concept of democracy wouldn't have been known at that point in history, so it doesn't matter.

"At that point in history" does not mean "hadn't existed at all"; just forgotten. They called it the Dark Ages for a reason, you know.

They're not called the dark ages. Information was preserved through private collections and the monastic system, and innovations were made on all fronts. They're the Early Middle Ages, damn it.

Why do you history major types get so hung up on the whole "dark ages" thing? Technological advances slowed to a crawl and we lost neat things like indoor plumbing for a couple hundred years. That's pretty dark in my book.

Yeah, but Western Rome fell for a reason, trading culture and sanitation for big powerful horses, proper weapons and heavy armor. During this period we got new horse breeds, Stirrups in from Asia, the horse-collar for better plowing, and we finally traded those shitty amphorae for proper wooden barrels. All in all the Northerners who inherited and seized power from Rome were better fighters and sailers, and they filled the power-vacuum of a Western Rome whose cities were shrinking faster than Eastern Russia's are now from both plague and migration. After all, who wants to live under a Barbarian landlord freezing your balls off in Gaul when you can just move to sunny Greece which is where the capitol, population centres, and money are anyway.

The "Eastern Empire" would last another 800 years anyway, not a bad deal I'd say.

Muslim culture was at it's height while Christianity was flailing blindly, it's eyes plucked out by the fall of Rome.

Course, we got better and they just kept stoning virgins.
