Right. When I was a child I often went swimming in the lake. Now it's a little more polluted than it used to be, but it's still clean and a popular swimming spot.
There are some mountains as well between Aizu and here, so it doesn't snow much here. I took this picture from one of these mountains.

You have to add "-vf scale=X:Y".

I use "-vf scale=1280:-1".

The "-1" is a way to keep the aspect ratio by just defining width or height and setting the opposite to "-1".
