There were a couple of instances that felt a little off, like Amane lacking a nose in a CG (Picture related) and Konomi's lower half being a tad too large in one particular h CG shot. The only major issue artwise i have is that i think Amane's breasts are too low on her chest.

They more than made up for it with the sprite's and their facial expressions however, Itsuki's was particularly good

The サノバウィッチ trial was quite amusing, although none of the heroines besides the lovely Nene grabbed my attention too much. Might do Tsumugi's route too depending on how things develop from the cliffhanger ending.

I can't compare it to Amairo as I haven't played it, but the trial managed to be amusing for the most part. It's not as comedy-focused or crazy as Fureraba, but it has its good share of funny, cute and lewd moments. Nene's constant breaking down when she does something embarrassing dealing with her issues was consistently funny, although in the long run it might end up repetitive since the flow is generally the same: she does something embarassing, protagonist catches her, cue empty eyes and darkened face.

The writing really isn't exceptional in any way and I wouldn't expect any sort of competent plot, but it was pleasant to read overall. If it keeps up, it should be worth checking out if you want something simple to play this month.

Maybe it would be a good idea to describe what problems did you get with the copy you downloaded.

And this is a wildshot, but for an similarly old game, Nijuuei, I needed to actually burn the music CD to a real disc and insert it into the drive. Some other games also have problems with sound playing on newer systems and I remember there being a solution devised by some Japanese person. The future can't be changed is only a plot device to support the tragic darama and the message that they want to deliver, you will sure get it's full meaning at the true route if you played. Chronos Clock isn't bad but it felt like your typical moege with some drama.

I played できない私が、くり返す。 and thought the time traveling in that game was terribly written.

"The future can't be changed" ...except when the writer does want it to be changed. This was the most frustrating thing in the entire story. The author never really defined exactly what can and can't change other than the time of people's deaths.

The theme also didn't work at all for the story. It looks like the author wanted to make the theme something like "don't stay stuck in the past, live in the present" but the problem with this is that the protagonist only managed reach a conclusion that he was willing to accept with the help of the clock. He needed the clock (which represents the past) to change the present so it invalidates the theme.

>> No.13015788

>>13015736
Just to clarify, it looks like I'm being really negative about the game but I think it was actually a pretty decent game.
The drama was mostly well written, the art was nice, and the girls were interesting.
I just think that recommending the game for its time traveling concept is silly because the time traveling in that game was terrible.

>> No.13015891

>>13015736
>>13015788
I guess you misunderstood a lot of things. When did the future change? Iam pretty sure the game made it clear that the future can't be changed no matter what. The game also specified that your ways maybe deffer each time you go to the past but the conclusion will always be the same. Finally the theme of the story is more like " Time is limited even if you have a clock that rewinds time, the most important thing is not how much you lived but to live without regrets. " and the clock did it pretty will to deliver this message.

The game is indeed a decent one, I liked it alot, it also has a great ost
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=DFq9w7hKbko

I recommend to read it even if you dont have any interest in time travel becaousd it's not really what the game is about.

The clock changed the future plenty of times. It's most obvious in Shino's route. The order and date that they try to complete her bucket list are different in the second time line. Not to mention it changed from her dying while hating the protagonist to dying while loving the protag. How can you say that's not changed?

>Finally the theme of the story is more like " Time is limited even if you have a clock that rewinds time, the most important thing is not how much you lived but to live without regrets. "
I don't know how you can think that's the theme when one of the things the protagonist wanted to do was to stay in a time loop to gain enough time to become a doctor/scientist and research a cure for Shino. He has literally unlimited time.

This is such a terrible, terrible way to develop relationships, mostly because it's almost never done well in eroge.

The ultimate conclusion is the same. The date and order may deffer but they manged to complete the task at the end, also shinos feeling did change but her dying which is the final result didn't. They explained this with Ren-san flashback. Also the mc was willing at the start to rewind times many time to study medical and cure shino but he changed his mind when the little girl with Ren-San died and accepted what she wanted to teach him about living without regret is the most important thing. The mc did really change when he left the clock at shino grave and told her he will move forward and try to find happiness.

I'll say it again, this game is beautiful.

In a love story, the ultimate element is the existence and shape of love and the clock did change that. Shino changed from hating the protag to loving him.
And if the protagonist truly had no regrets he should have acted out the second timeline the same way as the first timeline, ie. end the story with Shino hating the protagonist. But no, he did regret his broken relationship with her which is why he acted different in the second timeline.
It looks like the author did trying to force in a theme at the end when the protag gave up the clock, but like I said, the theme is invalidated by the rest of the story. The protagonist's earlier actions completely contradict the theme.

>> No.13016270

>>13016122
You missed the point. We are talking here if the clock has the power to change the fate or not, and no it don't. The feelings, ways, amount, time and order may change but the mc thinks it's all useless since the fated conclusion won't change. Also the theme is ment to be deliverd at the end when the mc started to fix the things he regretted, the players are meant to get the message through the mc experience and growth from someone who used the clock for five years to someone who moved forward trying to live without regret.

Itsuki's: Evolves into love obviously
Aoi: Causes drama at the end of the route and makes you want to murder the majority of the school. Itsuki has a great moment here though
Konomi: Almost completely ignored due to the heavy focus on Konomi and Shuuji's home life, dropped sometime in the middle of the route. No drama around it

I haven't read this but it's on my backlist, but since I like stories about time travel, does it actually follow the Novikov self-consistency principle like it implies it does?
It really doesn't have to, to be able to write a nice time-travel story, but if things do end up changing and breaking the principle then it becomes a different beast whatsoever. If it is like that anon says, and they end up changing the future in some way, both the time consistency and point of the story are weakened as a fact. Feelings are still something tangible, unless one was a lie and there was really one feeling in both outcomes after all.
Time travel is hard to write well, after all. It might be a good drama but if it isn't self-consistent then the time travel aspect is a bit lousy.

So far I've finished Rumia (goth loli) and I'm halfway through Ogura (You can see her on the left in the classroom shot).

So far Rumia's route was fun. Even though she's the token shy girl with no friends, she is interesting, and you can meet other chuunibyou characters through her. Plus, her reasons for falling for the MC make sense so it's not just a magical turnaround 'because you're the MC'.

Ogura seems interesting too. She normally pretends to be a normal (openly said リア充), but is secretly an otaku into cosplay, so I'll let you imagine the CGs. Haven't reached the plot heavy part yet, so I think it's early to form an opinion though.

Also did a good part of Kyonimura (Right side of the classroom) route, but she seems quite bland. She's the usual big breasts, kind heart, small brain heroine, but unfortunately also seems to be the main one, since she's featured on the splash screen of the game and all of the promo material.

None of the heroines are dumb enough to not notice that the relationship is fake, except Konomi but that doesn't really matter considering how that route plays out quite differently comparing to the others.

I don't know if this is the right place to ask this, but I can't think of anywhere else.

Why is the text all messed up like this? Yes, I changed my locale to Japanese, and I have never had this issue before despite having played a few other untranslated VNs on this machine. It looks to me like an encoding issue, though I can't find a place to change the encoding anywhere in the settings. Finished the trial for 悪魔娘の看板料理. The gameplay was pretty good.

Basically you're the owner of a newly built restaurant/inn. Some of the stuff you have to manage are:
- Food. You have to decide what ingredients you want to stock, what new meals to research, what to put on the menu, etc.
- Supply routes for the ingredients
- Reputation with the town and constructing new buildings
- Events with the heroines
- Issuing quests for adventurers

In the game you also get automatic income from renting rooms but it seems like you can't manage that, which was a little disappointing.
Also you can renovate and decorate your building but that wasn't available in the trial so I have no idea how that works.

This is my second game from AXL, but just from those two I can see how they managed to survive 10 years without going bankrupt: Long and really enjoyable common route which solves most of heroines problems and makes you play your routes without any regret for not chosing others, "Very" well made male support characters, Heroine routes without any long forced dramas and not so long ero scenes ( this depends on person though, for me its better than very long ones), Very charming heroines and good (at least not hetare) protagonist.

If anyone here likes moege and never tried AXL, definitely try Racial Merge & Itoshii Kanojo no Mamorikata at least.
