Is your ASW ready? Sitting at three Type 3 Sonars and four Depth Charges plus dozens of weaker stuff.

>> No.13002619

More than ready, Makigumo farming is a hobby of mine.

>> No.13002626

Why? They're excellent food.

That said, I can totally see why one would keep multiple cutegumos.

>> No.13002653

>>13002637
They're still heartlocked so I didn't even see what Makigumo gives in modernization. But you're right, +1AA is always something. I'll probably delay this until I have to free some slots, 30 levels were enough to get attached.

My E1 team's almost ready. Just a little modernization left for Ooyodo, and there's two more type 3 sonars in reserve if the map turns out to be 100% subs. Kisaragi should be safe with two of those things.

Honestly i don't think ASW equipment will be necessary past E2.

And here everyone is very kind by leaving 1-2 90+ships except for one guy who's training KTKM and Ooi. I wonder if it's just farming for quints or making last minute dupes.

Regarding the fire directors, are you supposed to equip them as it is or wait until it's upgraded to 10cm+AAFD?

>> No.13002859

>>13002836
http://kancolle.wikia.com/wiki/Combat#Anti-Air_Cut-In
They can be used in AA cut-ins without the upgrade if that's what you mean.

>> No.13002863

>>13002836
Fire Directors can be equipped by all ships but subs, allowing CA or BB to perform Anti-air spotting as well, that is, if they also equip aa gun or sanshiki. If you plan to use them on lighter ships, the guns with in-built FD have much better stats so it's better to upgrade them.

anti-air cut-in*

>> No.13002936

>>13002863
I was under the impression that AAFD would be mainly used in DD like Akizuki, therefore the previous question.

About the AA Cut-in, did it play a tactical role in previous event?

>> No.13002950

This admiral wasn't able to attend the briefing. What's the event about?

>> No.13002970

>>13002936
The cut-in was introduced with last event, and the equipment that does it were rewarded for clearing the event maps

Short answer: No

>> No.13002981

>>13002936
They could make a map that's all about anti-air survival if they wanted to. In traditional maps the cut-in was nice to have but the air phase was almost never the problem.

Given the new equipment, I wouldn't be surprised if they give us something like "your combined fleet must pass 3 wo-ridden air only nodes" but I'll leave the separate directors in the armory if they don't pull something like that.

>> No.13002986

>>13002936
It didn't in the previous event because we only got Akizuki and the fire directors as clear rewards.

Situations where you want to run a AA-cut in setup are like when using a non-carrier fleet against nodes with Nu/Wo.

Also, since combined fleet is confirmed for the event, I wonder if it would have any kind of effect on AA cut-ins.

>> No.13003011

Does anyone happen to have a magic recipe for Sendai class? I need Sendai herself to complete A14 and eventually get a 3rd fleet going.

>> No.13003026

>>13002981
Air phase is just another layer of RNG. It will crit one of your ships to red when it feels like it. The problem is that a good AA cut-in wouldn't matter all the other times.

It is more or less like evasion. It will probably help that one time you barely got crit, but it won't help the time you get really crit. But it is cooler than evasion stats at least.

Evasion cut-in when?

>> No.13003067

Is trying to clear 2-4 with 3 CV(L) 3 BB overdoing it? What should I sneak in that maintains the possibility of clearing it while having the fleet not eating more than an army of sumo fighters?

>> No.13003072

>>13003067
Cruisers are always a good answer. Heavy, Torpedo, Light, you're free to choose. For 2-4 CA would perhaps be the best.

>> No.13003104

>>13003026
Evasion is a passive chance to dodge a hit completely and applies regardless of the enemy weapon type. Armor and enemy damage rolls are what determine how much damage an actual hit deals.

AA cut-ins on the other hand need to to take out every bomber to eliminate the danger of crits by stronger carriers where it actually matters. This isn't possible on some maps, but you can at least thin down the damage potential slightly. It's not like equipping a DD for AA is hard either (unless you want torpedo cut-ins).

In both cases, they're good to have than not as they stack odds in your favor by decreasing the chance of a crippling blow at little to no cost.

>> No.13003120

>>13003104
Yeah, Akizuki guns are the best DD guns in every single aspect except for ASW, with equal firepower to Poi gun but also boost to accuracy and evasion. They can be improved by Akashi too, so they won't be outmatched in firepower. Type 13 Kai is also good radar to have on DD, as it's the only one increasing evasion. So AA cut-in setup is at the same time great double attack setup.

Any sites available that allow me to catalog ship girls? Something in the style of myfigurecollection.com, just for the sake of attaching images to names and making it easier to show my fleet to other people rather than using print screens from Kancolle Viewer's spreadsheet. I'm pilling up too much scrap-tier vessels and I need to undergo a serious selective process.

So basically AA cut-in is a countermeasure against Yorktown or other hard-hitting abyssal carrier?

Download, set local proxy port and myfleet password in the config file, start the batch file, and configure your kancolle browser to use the local proxy.

>How safe is it?
Probably as safe as using logbook.
I've been using it for at least half a year, mainly to contribute crafting and ship construction statistics.
