Harukiss is kind of nice I guess, but I'd probably like it even if it were absolute garbage since my favorite VA is in it.

It's kind of refreshing I guess that in the two routes I've done so far the heroines get so fed up of the protagonist being so dense they basically force themselves on him.

Finished amatsukaze.
A few parts dragged on too long but in the end it left me satisfied.

The small improvements in the battle system made me enjoy it a more than deus ex.
I liked how you are pretty much forced to configure your build and special card order for every battle from 3rd chapter if you want to win on ふつう.

The "hidden" 白夜 root was pretty fun too.

Completed Kara no Shoujo 2, and it was pretty good.
Quite a bit better than the first game, especially the atmosphere. It relied more on the general creepiness of everything, the incest, and the amputated limb H-scene rather than gore.

Problems it had firstly were the damn slow pacing which was really annoying in Chapter 2, the slow skip function (yes I patched it), and the forced connections to the first game since the connections are only relevant at the very start and end of the game. It would have been fine as a standalone scenario.
Another thing I didn't like is how they are trying to force Yukari into becoming central to everything (maybe setting her up for a potentially gruedome death?). She is fine in her circle of friends, but not so much making her a heroine for Masaki instead of Fuyumi, especially given that Fuyumi IS technically the main heroine of the game.

Despite the forced connections, the final chapter was absolutely fantastic. The investigation, discovery, despair and then the ending credits really hyped me for more. Hoping the third game won't have a long wait.

And in b4 someone complains about plagiarism.

The intention was obviously the later. she likes Masaki but not in that way, same for the other way around and the prison scene was probably the most romantic scene in the game, really touching.

Yep, terrible, I spent a whole afternoon finishing the game after the first run despite how little new content there is.

Angel Game is like swinging or something so it's pretty different than their other stuff (though their sister brand also did a swinging game).

Atelier Sakura has gone through different stages anyways, where they will do half a dozen of the same kind of game:

Phase 1: Girlfriend NTR
Phase 2: Wife NTR
Phase 3: Wife netorase

Here's hoping swinging will be the next scenario they milk.

Are you referring to Yukari or Fuyumi there?
Yukari's friends teased her about how she's into Masaki (with her even considering romance) and I think it was Touji who also teases Reiji about it. The multiple CGs she gets about it kinda force the point further.
And yeah that prison scene was great. I also really liked the final bar scene in the canon end where Fuyumi feeds those sweets to Masaki, I thought that was one of the most powerful scenes in the game.
Also, I can understand Fuyumi to an extent as she has maternal responsibilities and all, but given how the end of Chapter 2 screwed up Masaki, I would have thought that he'd at least try rekindle things - maybe in the future when he finds out about Michiru, who knows?.

>> No.12986254

>The multiple CGs she gets about it kinda force the point further.
Yeah but it's kinda left there, I doubt they are going to make the MC's imouto hook up with another guy, even for inogrey is kinda making peopel mad just because.
> would have thought that he'd at least try rekindle things
I liked that they didn't just go and jump to that they both have some extreme emotional baggage they have to work out first, especially Fuyumi, it's better if they try to keep a standard friendly relationship first, it's more realistic after all the shit they've gone through, as it's clear their feelings are still there, buried under piles of regret and depression.

I haven't played it yet, but I thought the all ages for FLOWERS made quite a few people mad enough as it is. I hear it's pretty good though.

And I get your point about the relationship. I suppose it would have been a bit too unnatural to jump into it all straight away, but everything is still there and may develop further when they release the third game.

Finished Ley Line 3. Like the anon in the previous thread said the twists weren't as awesome and in my opinion it didn't have as much of an emotional impact as the second game's final chapters had. Still good they went almost straight to main plot instead of dawdling around with small cases too much.

I'm a bit disappointed that my personal speculations about Ninomae-kun being Fuhito and Momoka's master ended up being wrong. I was expecting the weasel to be revealed as a magie in disguise since it had two red eyes and Fuhito called it "her friend" in the second game, similarly how the small homunculus in one of the second game's cases called the girl who made her a friend. Hina being the mastermind was an unexpected twist, but as far as I remember it wasn't really foreshadowed in the previous games apart from the characters just mentioning "she always talked little and tried to leave a weak impression". Nowhere near of a holy shit moment as Mutsuki being revealed as Omaru's host at the end of the second game, which was foreshadowed brilliantly with the first game's Janus Key scene (in which Ushio tries to search for Mutsuki and ends up in Tokusa's room) and the second game's genderbender joke scene.

I personally liked how the main story drove the "homunculus don't have souls" point home, even to somewhat unnerving amounts with descriptions and past stories about Fuhito, Rito and others. I was expecting them to pussy out with some sort of "all homunculus have real feelings after all" excuse and I'm glad that it didn't happen.

Mc finds out that one of his childhood friend fall from a cliff because of him, He became sad like 5-10 sentence, then he suddenly doesnt care anymore with some "I cant live in the past" type thing and going full ichaicha & sex with her lover. What the fuck? You just learned that shit 3-5 min ago dude. At least stop fucking for 1-2 days. This thing happens again when he learnt how his parent died for nothing, they dont have sex that time though.

Its not only those, the writer really couldn't handle the switch between sad and happy events. They are crying first because they learnt some tragic things, then 3-5 minutes later they are having happily sex.

Its completely opposite. They made tragic events so low that you cant feel any sad or some kind like that feeling, they are just skipping with 10-15 lines even though they are pretty big events in the game. I guess I couldn't explain enough. I'm trying my best for explaining without spoilers so, lets say like this: Some sad event which pretty important for game & MC last only 2-3 minutes with a couple of "I cant believe it" , "it cant be" etc, then sex comes and last 25-30 minutes and they never come back to tragic topic. It feels just forced and bad, it would be really better without any of those.

蜜柑 is the only game so far that I've picked up when searching specifically with that tag. Shumon being one of the writers was what finally got me into playing it.

Really interesting premise (protagonist is writing three different self-insert stories with the same characters in different roles), but the actual execution left a lot to be desired and many times I felt compelled to CTRL through some parts, particularly the whole third story which was almost nothing but random sex scenes. The major plot reveal was painfully obvious and the skip function being fucked didn't go well with some of the better endings being locked behind tons of flags, plus there's only 15 save slots. OST was a mixed bag of some really good and some really bad tracks and the main theme in particular was a 10/10 in my books. http://vocaroo.com/i/s0UblzC4Tkf6

I thought it had a ton of potential, but I lost interest along the way. Given how intricate the story is I've no doubt that was due to me not having read it for a few months before going back to it. I'm actually surprised that Shumon wrote the second story considering how much he's held in high regard. I couldn't take it at all seriously. But the first story did seem like the most interesting one, and despite the barrage of sex scenes in the third story its atmosphere was the most effective.

Would you recommend going back to it?

>> No.12995854

>>12995513
The first and third stories don't really go anywhere until their eventual climax moments and if you had trouble taking the second story seriously I doubt you'll have more luck with the first one since it also gets a bit loony when it starts throwing somewhat scifi cloning elements out of the blue. To me the meta story with the writer protagonist was the most interesting aspect of the game, but its main twist about Mayumi being a person from the protagonist's past is obvious as hell right from the first scenes of the game. Her endings give a great closure and tie all the weirder shit that goes through the three stories together, but I'd hesitate recommending someone to trudge through the more boring parts of the game solely for those, especially when it's extremely painful to replay with the broken skip (that doesn't stop at unread text) and limited amount of save slots.

>it had a ton of potential
That's actually how I'd best describe the whole game. The premise and setpieces all sound really cool in theory, but the stories themselves weren't that engaging of a reading experience for me.

No it's not. I liked it but it's not a VN.

By the way, why are we still using EOP terms like "VN" now that this is strictly for untranslated eroge? Sure there are some Japanese visual novels but not enough to justify putting it in the title. ADV should be in the title before VN is.

>> No.12996978

I'm the one who named the current thread title.

"Eroge" is in the title because even though it is not the most accurate term for these games, it is the most commonly used term. For example, go visit Futaba. They don't have a ADV board or galge board but they do have an eroge board. Same thing if you visit 2ch, they have many eroge labeled boards but only one galge board and nothing labeled ADV at all.

For "Untranslated VN General," it's there because of three reasons:
1. VN is the most commonly used term in the English community,
2. "Untranslated VN" is plain English and is easy for even the new english-only readers to understand (so they don't accidentally post in the thread),
3. It keeps the phrase "VN General" which was the previous title so people who already had that filtered will continue to have the new thread title filtered.

The only reason why don't want " VN general" sentence to be removed. It's also easier if you want to look old thread in the archive. I understand "visual novel" is quite awkward and commonly used by Fuwanovel casuals but please keep in mind that not everything in ADV label contain H-scene/ero.

You guys make terrible businessmen.

Take a look at Steam's hardware stats page. We can assume the survey participants have better or equal hardware compared to eroge users since they're using it for gaming which is obviously more taxing than porn slideshows.

Most common resolution is 1920x1080 at 33.48%.
2nd most common is 1366x768 at 26.80%.
3rd most common is 1600x900 at 7.50%.
All resolutions higher than 1080p have less than 5% combined.

This means that spending the money to make your eroge 1080p would be poor investment because less than 50% of your users would be able to enjoy it anyway. Much better idea to keep it at 720p and invest the money into something else that all the users can experience. Maybe more CGs or better system or something.

I got the feeling that they were being experimented on, but I never would have expected that. Jesus, what a waste. My issues with the second story stemmed from the fact that it was all a bit too much with the horror elements being incredibly cheesy, to the point that they completely broke the immersion. In comparison, during the first story (or at least during its earlier stages!) the horror wasn't as explicit in that although you knew something more sinister was at play, you couldn't quite put your finger on what that was. Same thing applies for the third story.

I agree about the meta aspect being the real draw here. I assumed that the characters were people that the protagonist knew in real life, but I had my doubts when the lady with the glasses and the blonde girl actually did show up in his real life. It seemed too obvious, but of course that could have been the meta aspect at play again. I think I stopped around there, actually.

>but the stories themselves weren't that engaging of a reading experience for me

That's understandable. Even if one only liked one of the stories but disliked the other two, it would still make Mikan a real chore to read through. It's good to hear that they all eventually tie together though, I might just pick it up again now. I'd probably say Kazusa true > Kazusa normal > Setsuna CC > Setsuna Coda > Koharu > Chiaki > Mari. Mari's route felt 100% pointless and Haruki was way too pathetic in it.

In deference to the poll results and in the spirit of compromise, I adjusted the thread title slightly. Hopefully it pleases nobody.

I've been playing Kimikiss. I finished the 33 days and didn't compete any girl's route so I've started from the start again. But the annoying thing is you can't skip dialogue you've read. I'm just going to use a walkthrough.

If we're including the non-coda ends then Setsuna wins by a lot.

You mean the ~400MB torrent?

Also, after you download it, does it work?
That was my issue, it doesn't work, at least to me.
