Welp just found out Open Broadcast Software doesn't work with windows media player, and I get frame skips when doing a monitor capture.
I'm thinking DRM is removed when a file is compressed, like how burning a video into a dvd also removes the drm, so I'm uploading the compressed wmvs to mega, also in case something happens to the account. If someones able to burn it to a cd and see if that removes the drm, please do, or maybe converting to ios works too.

Actually Perfume should have the most appeal(at least speaking for America here) because the genre of music they play is extremely popular right now and lyrics don't really matter in that genre so the Japanese part shouldn't be an issue. They also sold out the same venue in NY that Babymetal got close to but ultimately didn't and they did it with like a couple weeks left before the show. They also played a venue in LA for about 4,000 people? BM's first show in US/LA was around 1,200 although management had no idea their level of popularity and it sold out almost instantly.

Are you calling BM meme music? A large portion of the people that go to their concerts in the west are metal heads(I definitely became a fan because of the metal aspect). They certainly started as a wacky band but it is entirely serious, especially now. They just did a collab with DragonForce. And although Gimme Choko made them come off as meme wtfjapan stuff, if you actually listened to their discog it is mostly serious with some completely heavy metal songs. They proved themselves at Sonisphere playing in front of 60,000 people at a heavy metal festival on the main stage. It started with people looking on awkwardly and ended in applause and cheers calling for encores.

The difference to me is, BM is taking their foreign fans seriously and it seems like Perfume is not. But they are both under Amuse and Amuse is pushing more into the global market just adding an office in LA recently so I'm sure that will change.

Oh, and Su can sing circles around them. And the backing band is full of virtuosos in their field. It is also a passion project for the creator vs Nakata not giving a shit. BM doesn't MC in any show, this has to do with Koba's(the producer/creator) strict adherence to the image and fantastical image of BM and their shows. I'd like it if they did but it's whatever. They do a lot of call and response in literally every single song and in one song they have a hip hop break down and tell the crowd to sing hoooooo and then they shout out the city they're in. I will say that apparently Japanese metal publications reject Babymetal surprisingly while western publications praise them(although they definitely didn't at first) which is surprising because I's expect it the other way around. That means they lose out on a lot of Japanese metal fans and rely more on pop fans there. They didn't make it on Kohaki New Years thing but they made it on Music Super Station 2014 where Perfume played, and honestly they got bigger applause than them, Kyary, MomoClo, and even AKB so that's good enough for me.

Also, BM formed in 2011, Perfume however formed in 2000 and they were close to being released until they got a break in 2008 according to wiki. Good thing Amuse is a good company that supports all their acts.

Anyway, Perfume's music isn't normally my type of thing but they have some pretty good songs. I love Spending My Time.

So I was listening to Spending All My Time again while working out and I really think Perfume can make it on the radio in America and get big here. It's very similar to Top 40 today and just as good as the best stuff. I don't think they're 'boring'. Their choreography is cool and their videos are fun to watch. I also think Nakata is pretty respected by DJs/producers in the west. I know he heavily influenced Passion Pit for one. And I'm the BM fan, so I don't say this as a Perfume fan but I like them. I just don't know 'em too well yet.

I think Amuse is gonna pay a lot more attention to the west with promotion and we'll be able to see their products in our stores and shows more often. Make it in America. Make it everywhere.

Well there's a very large difference between kpop and jpop.

Kpop is subsidized by the korean board of tourism for starters so kpop is literally korean propaganda. Their national market is too small so they have to desperately appeal to westerners/japan and the market is saturated now compared to 4 or 5 years ago. The Hallyu wave is pretty much over.

Japan on the other hand is pretty timid when it comes to the international scene since their national music industry is healthy enough to where they don't have to pander to the west to make money. BabyMetal is gimmicky, sure, but the real reason of their success is Kami band and Su-metal, they are the real talent in the group.
