So why is the Chinese VN translation scene so much more advanced than the Western one? I thought they were godless commie bastards that are being repressed.

>> No.1292344

So why is the Western VN translation scene so much more advanced than the Korean one? I thought they were godless capitalist pigs that are being oppressive.

>> No.1292345

That's what the Chinese "media" wants you to think. But ofcourse there's a shitload of chink weeaboos just as there are cracker weaboos

you guys are fucking idiots, If you can read Chinese you can read 60%-80% Japanese, the Japanese pretty much stole their entire written language from the Chinese.

a flood of ronery chinese bachelors and not enough girls for them. The logical choice is to resort to 2D...

>> No.1292361

There are actually a shitload of Chinese weeaboos. When I went back there to visit family there were a shitload of stores devoted to pirated anime, manga(yes pirated manga, they print it on cheap ass paper) and pirated VNs. They sell fan translated shit in copied official boxes and stuff.

>> No.1292367

it's easier to translate from japanese -> chinese
it's also easier to replace ingame text with chinese than it is to replace with english. since we spell out all our words, equivalent sentences take more space to write out in english, so you have to get a little creative with text insertion usually.

They do the same to American movies too, they just want money....

So to become better weeaboos and otakus we must switch our market system to socialism with Chinese characteristics?

>> No.1292379

Because VN is actually fairly popular in China?
FSN have an offical Chinese version. As in, approved by Typemoon and all that.

>> No.1292396

VNs are pretty big in China even though being an otaku or weeaboo is pretty looked down upon. For some reason shoujoai and yuri shit is REALLY popular in China and I remember they had this big ass event at a mall in Shanghai for Sapphism no Gensou with free gifts and shit.

Yeah otaku culture is pretty mainstream in China
Back when I was in 3rd grade, our principal once organized a whole school excursion to watch Laputa

I think my primary school have a yearly cinema excursion, I happen to remember Laputa most vividly.

Was funny too because the year after we saw Laputa they put Nadia on TV, and while I was watching it I was like, hang on, I remember a movie like this...

You're generalizing a bit there, seen as Japan is like China's second biggest trade partner.

As for boycott, they boycott everyone depending on the flavour of the month: USA, Japan, France, etc.
