Someone give me the fucking motivation to go on. I'm on Episode 4 right now, and Ange is hanging out with the seven stakes and there's Sakutoro and oh my fucking god it's so boring I can't stand it. I'm not interested in this at all. I was so excited because there seemed to be a lot of fantastic pieces set up early on, but this is dragging so fucking much. When does this get good again? Someone tell me soon. I want to get to the first twilight and see blue words and whatever else bullshit Battler can come up with. God fucking damn.

Episode 4 has perhaps the best ending in the series. 5 is good but 6 and 7 also suffer from not being too good aside from certain scenes and 5 drags on a little as well.

Yo here's the Sea Cat "Is it good?" test:

1. Is Beato femdomming Battler? If yes continue.
2. Is Beato not femdomming Battler? If no stop reading.

You've entered the umineko trap. It slowly gets worse and worse until you don't even care who killed who anymore.

I dont think I've found a game more boring than this one and I've played through 70% of clannad's routes.

Wow, that is so true.

I found 5-6 had some of the most entertaining logic battles of the whole thing. I can't imagine wanting to miss out on Erika and Dlanor.

7-8 are only worth it if only for Beatrice's backstory and the epic witch battle at the end of 8.

i managed to read through this only because i wanted to have something to talk about with weeb friends..

Episode 4 was pretty fucking boring not gonna lie, has a sweet ending though. Episode 5 and 6 are really fun. Batshit insane logic battles and action scenes. 7 and 8 aren't bad either but are quite a bit different from the rest of the series.

Honestly episode 4 is probably the weakest in the series, IMO just for the sheer amount of boring as fuck Ange/Sakutaro scenes.

The series goes to absolute shit in Chiru. Just drop it, man. I really wish I had.

OP here, just finished Episode 4. It certainly got better, but I have to agree with >>12913144. The Ange and Sakutaro stuff was a bit dragged out. Not all of it, mind you. I was pretty interested in Ange's storyline that involved her traveling to the island. Her last chapter was way too long and came at a very bad place in the story, however. EVA-Beatrice being there felt really shoe horned in, and after all the exciting stuff that was going on in 1986, it was really frustrating being thrust back into 1998 so suddenly.

The ending was great. I loved Battler's blue truths at the end and just seeing him have such an advantage over Beato. I also absolutely ADORED Battler playing detective. That may very well have been my favorite chapter so far.

Special shout out to Krauss and Kyrie who were hands down the MVPs of this Episode for me.

And Piece Battler who was far more interesting than Meta Battler this time around which I found surprising since in Episodes 2 and 3, I didn't particularly care for Piece Battler but loved Meta Battler.

Anyways my rankings for episodes so far would go
3 > 1 > 4 > 2

3 was super entertaining from start to finish and while I wasn't super in love with Beatrice acting sympathetic towards Battler, it was an interesting change and the overall events were very exciting to read.

1 was has had the best atmosphere and mystery so far, and was hands down the one where I was the most consistently immersed. I'd rank it above 3, but it loses points for that VERY long beginning.

I think 4 had the highest highs so far, but definitely the lowest lows. But those highs were REALLY high. I wish Ange's chapters were paced better and that more time was spent with the game board. Introducing Ange and giving her a ton of back story wasn't very smart I feel. Still really entertaining.

As for 2, the first half is incredibly boring and was tedious to read, unlike E1 where I could see myself eventually warming up to the long intro, 2 had too much fluff.

Episode 5 is really good because of how the gameboard is constructed + the revelations made about the solution + the end. But episode 6 onward is just too forced and boring without any peak to introduce significant progresses about the solution.

I liked the episode 8 the most because it had the most magical fighting scenes and everything was exploding and I didn't had to think too much just enjoy punching goats

Ep 4 was ryukishi's last attempt at mystery. He then realized that he made so many plotholes that they made polish roads look like the autobahn, and decided to go full magic. Ep 8 is a fucking disney fairy tale (the trick ending was interesting tho).
