There are 2 bad things about CLTs.

- They are limited to 2 effective set-ups: 2 torps + mini sub and 2 15.5 secondary + mini sub.

- They are made of paper. Since you can't really improve that without messing up their effectiveness the obly thing you can do is grinfd then to very high levels so they get enough evasion to become reliable.

In that case you might spam the standard recipe, I can't help you more, Souryuu was first CV I crafted, Kaga arrived next evening and Hiryuu joined the fleet two days later.

It allows you to do AA cut-ins, killing off your opponent's planes (except fighters), but because of the equipment requirement to pull it off you'll have to forgo double attack in the day unless you're called Ooyodo. So you're better off equipping it on her or any DD, than a CA.

3 radars is because there're ammo maelstroms which you have a 75% chance of passing through.

Air supremacy is, well, something you can technically do without, but I wouldn't really recommend it because the preboss node (where 237+ fighter power is needed for supremacy) is harder than the boss node, and you only have a 25% chance of bypassing it. But you might as well since you need 2 CV(L)s to reach the boss anyway, and I find CVLs too paper to get the job done.

I believe that kanmusu and abyssal girls are not some specially trained magical girls of flesh and bone, but exceptionally strong spirits of sunken ships and their crews who obtained physical form.
Since negative emotions are always strong - "bad" abyssals emerged first and attacked humans they hated so much for sinking and forgetting about them (note that abyssal equipment looks like parts of their bodies or some wild monster-beasts), and "good" kanmusu are somehow summoned and bound to physical world by their equipment (which definitely looks human-made).
Thus by "scrapping" you merely reprocess equipment and free the spirit, and by "modernization" you merge the spirits, making one of them stronger.

Also, that can explain how you get new girls as "loot" - after beating a bunch of abyssals you may occasionally purify some abyssal spirit and bind it.
