It kind of is like drugs. I've been using my DK2 for a while on some relaxing demos and I find do it is very relaxing, to the point where I could fall asleep much better. Horror feels actually like horror in real life, as in your mind's instincts kick in and tell you to get the fuck away from that dark corner. As I use it more and more, the novelty wears off, and things just sort of become real, or normal. Like, when we live our lives we take for granted how grounded we are in reality and how un-amazing and unspectacular things look in real life. Everything's just sort of there. And it's the same for VR. It's just there, as much as you computer is there, your desk is there, or your room is there. It's really quite an odd feeling when I just have this here but it feels so normal, and yet I know how exciting the possibilities are.

Seriously though. If you spend enough time with it, you will feel like everything you do in it is just normal. I could imagine when Elite Dangerous gets more polished and all the features of living in space get added, that at some point in time, you will be convinced you are living there, in the same way that you think you're living here and talking to me. It's probably too amazing for any of us to realize, but this is something that is already possible. You can already live in your fantasies. Of course there are still many complications and you still need actual people to develop whatever fantasy you want, but at least it's possible now, not decades from now, but NOW.

This is just a simulator about, literally, summer lessons. No you won't be able to do those things. Though you'll probably be able to in the future. If the video had actually given real details about the game and why they made it, you, and the other posters in this thread, would know that it's made in the vain of a sort of experiment, a tech-demo, and a sort of learning experience. They said that they hope to see what works in terms of the best practices for making VR games for interacting with virtual people, and then produce more games which incorporate what they learned, constantly improving. To you guys, this might seem like a game which has more to do with make you're waifu real or something along those lines, while to VR enthusiasts, it is a very interesting game that will hopefully be very revealing of good VR experience designs.
