There has to be an anime tie in event, and it should be as easy as Arpeggio, but there's enough time to squeeze a difficult one in. The Arpeggio event came at the end of the show's airing with Ironbottom just before. Two or three easy events in a row would be boring and I'm afraid they might dump LSC only ships on us again to keep older players busy.

Take it easy during the holidays. A super difficult event during a time where fewer people are there to play is just silly.

Must be random then. The time I was experimenting fleets using heavy ships it would always criss-cross whenever it goes North. So I said "fuck it" and went with medium ships instead. Found no problems all my E3 runs with it. Only got sent home twice from an unlucky crit from Wo at H node though all my luck has been used up and 20 runs on E4 and still no final kill.

The upcoming KCV build will bring a change to the way quests translations are handled. We're moving over to using IDs as the primary lookup mechanism, which, sadly, breaks the translations for all quests released before April 2014.

Knowing the user base I am not expecting anyone to bother sending me XML snippets as it almost never happened before, therefore KCV now has a built-in locstring submission feature.

If you have the option to add untranslated strings, the new builds will automatically submit quest ID, title and description whenever you encounter an untranslated quest for the first time. Submission happens in plain text, uses HTTP and, as you will be able to see from both the source code and traffic dumps, only contains four pieces of data: Type (“Quest” for quests; no other types are currently supported), ID, Title and Detail.

I know this will send 99.9% of the users into a fit of primal rage (“OMG MY CREDIT QUEST AND QUEST CARD DATA ARE BEING PHISHED”), but I'm tired of being blamed for missing translations when my luck just does not let me clear the prerequisites to obtain those quests.

Reminder: submission ONLY happens if you have the option to add untranslated data enabled. Later there will be a separate option that will control the submission feature.

I'm not sure how exactly an open-source application that has its entire source code available for viewing violates that privacy. Now that VS2013 Community Edition is out you can, if you wish, build your own copy of KCV with whatever features you dislike removed.

Assuming Extra Operation (EO) is the n-th map, E-(n+1) isn't an actual map, but ship farming.
Currently, Asagumo farming is E-5. During AL/MI event, Kiyoshimo and Hayashimo farming was E-7.

That being said, wikipedia does make a decent starting point for finding information on historical events. Most pages have plenty of citations, though it is up to the researcher to vet those as well. For just information on if a ship participated in a certain battle and that kind of thing, stuff that can be very easily and quickly verified by alternate sources, wiki is fine. The problem comes when you start discussing the age old myths like Shermans catching on fire, the Tiger being a great tank, and other such subjects.

I didn't know that wikiwiki had history pages on the girls though. I have plenty of other reference material, so the wikia is pretty much all I use for KanColle related information.

Pros of Quick Response fleet:
1. Better air attack phase cuz 2xCV, with fair chance of killing small fries or damaging bigger ships.
2. Support fleet shells first, meaning 2 hard-hitting torpedo salvos if you brought your CLT's there, which will blow up small fries for sure, destroy bigger ships or at least cripple them.
3. Support fleet of DD/CLT/CL won't take much beating due to dodge power.
4. Your main fleet will have to pick off whatever still floats with their crappy shelling accuracy and wish luck to your support fleet in night battle.

What happens with Surface Task Force?
1. You have weaker air phase, meaning small fries will probably get crippled, not killed.
2. In shelling your big ships will miss A LOT, aim at enemy destroyers and do chip damage to them, leaving most of enemy fleet well-functioning (since you have to shoot almost full hp ships). Also, keep in mind that your big ships won't dodge as good as support fleet.
3. See that motherfucker Tsu-elite? You give it an opportunity to torp one your shipgirls by not using a strategy which has higher chance of fucking it prior to salvo phase.
4. Your support fleet is left to deal with a lot of targets left, and their shelling isn't powerful, so expect most of enemy fleet surviving it into yasen.

Is this what living on minimum wage feels like? No buckets anymore (thanks Kaga), and now I'm just living from daily to daily scraping in 3-4 sorties a day hoping KTKM will get her shit together (which, if the 6 runs I've had which have reached the final kill boss so far, doesn't look set to happen anytime soon).
