I have neither posters nor figurines, but I also have no shame and as such I must say I find little wrong with decorating your living quarters as you see fit. I find the weeaboo concept to support a self-degrading mindset that thinks worse of itself than the rest of the world does. While you, OP, would rather these people have no confidence, be ashamed of their interests and hide it as if it were some disfiguring scar, I would rather see them have confidence and let the world do its worst, if it bothers. The odds are most people won't know what they're looking at when they see a figurine, nor would that encounter be a notable part of their day unless they too were some sort of self-hating weeaboo.

If it weren't so late, I'd be a bit more eloquent about this all, but you get my point: the self-degrading aspect of weeaboo-ism is something that needs to be done away with. Shame is merely a detriment to experiencing life the way you would see fit!

Closest thing I have to Weaboo stuff in my room are two Goku figurines(One of them is a collectable,the other is from a Burger King kids meal) and, the poster you get from Vice City. I have a full two shelves of Manga near my bedside.

When I can finally get my hands on some spendable money,I've been planning to purchase a few Model kits of Zaku's/Gelgoogs/Dom's/Kampfers or Gundams.

Figurines though? Ehh.....I just dont see any value of them compared to having something like the Kampfer dropping an Xbox on a GM. Something like a Yoko pillow though...?I am always constantly sliding between want and sort of want on that.

I have a couple of weeabooish posters up on the walls, but they're interspersed with other kinds of posters and maps. Those two probably wouldn't make anyone think twice.

Figures are another thing. I can't even really afford nice ones, so that's a moot point for me anyway.

I wouldn't mind seeing posters on the walls of a room that belonged to a middleschooler, or even some one in highschool. But some of you are 20-somethings posting pictures of your flats decorated the same way you did when you were 14.

But of course, those aren't our rooms, not our clothes, not our neckbeards. Why should we care. Why should anyone care about someone doing something differently. We laugh at newfags for not knowing common memes, and gaia fags for their emotes. But maybe we just want to help them learn the err of their ways so they won't look like idiots all the time.

The way I see it is, there are two types of people who will ever be in the room where I keep my figures (no posters for me).

One - friends that I let in. If someone is too close-minded to accept that I have a hobby, then they're likely not in this group to begin with.

Two - maintenance people and the like. In other words, people who are being payed to be there. I'm sure the cable guy has seen all sorts of fucked up shit, and will forget about my figure collection shortly. I also don't really care what he thinks about me, since I'll never see him again.

As for casual acquaintances and the like who may be in my house, I simply leave the door closed. Complicated, I know.

My father works at PBS, and always brings home weird Sesame Street paraphernalia. My mother wrote an episode for Star Trek Deep Space Nine.

When they see the kind of money I spend on my little metal robots they call me conservative.

I don't own any anime posters or figs though. I'm very good at hiding my power level. Unless someone were to go through the files on my computer they would have no idea that I'm into anime, manga and other Japanese shit. I've arrived at this point, the problem is that I had already put some up a few years ago, but i'm too lazy to take them down. The content is pretty mainstream anyhow, so no one I know really looks down on me for it.

I took down all my anime wallscrolls, manga, DVDs, plush dolls, art books, figures, etc a few months ago and gave them away to friends. I was just too embarrassed of what I had become. I'm not saying it'll work for everyone, but I am a much happier person now and I have a lot more confidence. I've also become much better at hiding my powerlevels and am slowly treading down the path to normalcy and un-roneriness.
