On the fleet menu you just drag the 2 onto the 1. No expeditions necessary.

Did the devs make Yamatos blind during this event or what. Double attacks for 4 damage on DDs is especially hilarious.

I neglected all of my CA and CAVs and now I have to grind them all up to 20+.

And also not really sufficient if my current experience is to be believed.
I think the only people complaining about how easy the event was are those resource capped TTKs with everything they could ever want or need ship/gear wise.
