install language pack, set unicode to jp, then reinstall nukige.
if you don't do them in that order, the gibberish from the install will fuck the game over completely and there's no way to fix it afterwards aside from reinstalling.

Also during the first birth your choices decides two things. I believe the first choice ultimately decides the appearance for the three daughters you can have with each goddess. The next choice afterwards decides which daughter exactly is born first. Of which daughter after that first one is born are chosen at random next birthing I believe.
