Whilst Jpop is more about music, kpop is more about fashion and looks. The are news articles and hundreds of fan updates about each groups/ soloist fashion and clothes they are wearing, which is not the case in Jpop. A lot of Japanese idols and people in general also take less care of their teeth.

You learn a lot more about fashion and are exposed more to it when following kpop. Also Koreans are a lot more critical about others, so if an ugly, fat or badly dressed guest appears on a show, you know that they will get an earful about that. I think only one or two guests on Perfume's 'Happy!' were called ugly, and even that was once they got comfortable with eachother.

I also remember Yuka saying she likes slightly chubby guys which will make male fans consciously or subconsciously take less care of their body and health.

Everything I have talked about must surely affect the choices fans make, if your waifu likes guys which are well groomed, you will make an effort to be like that and if your waify likes chubby guys, then you will want to become chubby. Jpop seems to push the "you're fine as you are" message, whilst kpop pushes "You're not even close to acceptable, get plastic surgery, start lifting, wear fashionable clothes and then maybe you'll fit the standards of what your waifu would want" message

Yup. I liked kpop back in 2005-2008/9ish because it felt like a throwback to cheesy late 90s western pop and then after 2010 it started becoming k-town trash where every group had to have a rapper and it's become indiscernable from modern american pop.

One of the worst thing about kpop is that there are 3 producers which produce for 60% of groups, which leads to the groups sounding the same. The idols also get the cheapest surgery at Dr Kim's high-street salon making them look the same too

Absolutely. if you like the fairly consistent style of Perfume the Capsule may piss you off. It really is Nakata's baby, the thing that let's him try new stuff. which I can see him especially needing these days when GE's sort of forced into specific styles with Perfume and Kyary.

But for any Perfume fans coming over, a few of Capsule's older albums are probably right up your alley. I'd recommend More!More!More! and Fruitsclipper to Perfume fans.
