It's just kinda dumb that pp (score, I get) is completely dependent on combo/fullcombo. If you mess up the precious combo, your score is pretty much completely worthless. And it makes short songs OP. Even though I know rank isn't important, it makes me not want to play long songs, when a 4 minute long song will give me the same amount of pp as some boring, generic 80 second long TV size OP, despite being way more challenging.

I think that the current situation is causing a lot of misinformation regarding what is and is not allowed to be posted.

Home setups - if they're pictured with no direct link to arcade data or sows or anything of the sort, such as mine, are perfectly fine. For all you know I could be playing LR2, osu!mania, kshootmania, jubeat analyser, CS releases, etc.

The controllers are freely available for purchase outside of sows. If posting images of just controllers is banned, then DAO's got more of a problem than any of us - because he has many photos and actually makes and sells them :P

At the end of the day, common sense is all you need. I've never mentioned what I play and never given any images with real data running... that should be enough.

In regards to the price of the items:
I'm not sure what the price is for anywhere but where I'm from (the UK), but they are the following:

Jubeat controller (FB9), 310GBP.
The monitor I use for this is the Dell S2740L, which cost me 200 GBP at the time.

Reflec beat monitor is a Dell S2240T, which cost me 225 GBP at the time.

Pop'n is a DAO ASC, 220 GBP for the controller, 350 GBP (after import + shipping + tax) for the sanwa buttons - yes, this is a ridiculous price, I know.
the monitor is a Samsung UE32F4000 which cost me 170 GBP at the time.

The SDVX controller (SVRE9) cost 320 GBP, and approximately 150 GBP for the sanwa buttons.
The monitor used is a Samsung UE32F5000, which cost me 200 GBP at the time.

Finally, the one I'm sure you wanted to know in the first place, the IIDX controller (RED2nd) cost 800 GBP, sanwas included.
The monitor is a Samsung UE37EH5000, which cost me 170 GBP (and I guess another 20 GBP for fuel, as I needed to pick it up...). Good luck finding that monitor though, it's what I would call "perfect", but it's also extremely rare.

I also did some extensive modding to many of the controllers, and added some extra components overall to improve the experience. (1/2)

In the future, when I have more space and more money, I will probably begin work on a Guitar Freaks, Drum Mania, Keyboard Mania, and Dance Evolution setup, and maybe more if I feel like it. For now though, I'm pretty happy with what it is.

You can happily play IIDX with a budget controller (FP7 is the lowest I would recommend) which would cost 200 shipped.

My setup is "as close to the arcade experience as possible", going so far as to spend insane amounts of money and time getting specific monitors, specific micro-switches, specific buttons, writing custom cost and making custom embedded OS images. I am not the norm.

At the end of the day, I had money to spend and I wanted to spend it on my biggest hobby right now. If you're on a budget, there's options for you - you're just not going to end up with a setup like mine :P

It is a bad feel. The only thing I feel like I can improve at is consistency. I've got dozens of songs with one miss or a slider break, that if I FC'd them, would boost my rank a few thousand spots, but otherwise, I feel like all my stats are maxed. It really sucks because this is probably the first game I ever played where I felt like my improvement was restricted not by anything like skill, strategy, or experience, but by actual physical limitations.

As for sensitivity, I've played around with everything, Raw Input + 2.0-2.4 sens mostly and also with Raw Input disabled
the latter worked best but I've recently tried to switch back to the former with no real results

Most mouse players use raw input and 1.0 sensitivity, and adjust DPI accordingly. It's hard to judge what sensitivity you're actually playing at given the above information, seeing as how you could be playing at 100dpi in a 1080p window, or 3200dpi in a 800x600 window.
For reference, the sweet spot among a good deal of mouse players is (assuming 1920x1080 play area) is around 800DPI, with some players going as low as 400 and some as high as 1200, but I find 800 is a good place to start and adjust how you want.
If you're playing on a super high DPI, aiming is going to be hard as fuck because you have to make millimeter-perfect movements

I'm not playing IIDX for the same reason I'm not playing DDR or Guitar Hero. Those games are fucking boring.
I'm sure the top-level play requires much more skill than top-level play does in osu, no doubt at it, especially with people playing 14K charts, I don't even understand how that shit is possible, but the gameplay is just so fucking tedious that I don't understand how anyone gets to that level in the first place. At that point, you may as well just play an actual piano. The aiming aspect of osu is the only thing that sets it aside from other rhythm games, and it also happens to be the only aspect I find entertaining.
For fuck's sake, if that's what you want to do, go for it, but you and other BEMANIfags with your pompous, elitist attitudes are so irritating that even if I DID find IIDX interesting, I wouldn't play solely because it would be associating with pricks like you.

Console version of Beatmania was pure shit, they tried to do a testing of Happy Sky awhile back, and now they just don't care about the west.

It's horrible that the western Bemani community has to rely on illegal methods just to play their favorite games.

I think it's getting a lot more popular, since a lot of the streamers that people watch play it occasionally.

The OWC stream also gets quite some viewers, making it appear in twitch games.

That being said, you have to remember that most of the people around your rank is playing too, and getting a little more PP here and there. Don't worry about your rank, it'll come in bursts if you just try to challenge yourself a bit. (I went from 80k -> 60k, 60k -> 40l and so on)
