Why is even toshiko a member of capsule. As far as i know the only thing she does is sing along to what nakata has created. So by that logic kyary could be considered a capsule member as well.

in kyary's case, i believe nakata actually at one point asked if she wanted to write lyrics for her own music, but she declined because she thinks nakata's better at it anyways.

I've never understood this, why is it exactly? It's pretty sad. I love kyary but it's so hard to face the fact that she's just a product. She's basicly a miku hatsune but made of flesh. She is nothing when it comes to music and fame. So the only reason i even bother with her is because i like her cheery personality and her fashion sense. And also because she is kawaii as fuck. I've read that she does have some input when it comes to art direction and music videos. But that she only provides ideas and not actual own work

they're cute, but certainly didn't reach ponponpon's level. she might seem more like a product than a performer, but thats just how the pop industry is, ESPECIALLY in japan (where alot of songs by artists are written for/commissioned by advertisers)

Sorry, i don't think i was clear enough. I didn't mean to imply that her songs were worsened or less magical because of the fact that she doesn't write them. I do love her songs and videos. And i'm a big fan of nakatas work. But the thing is that It's just kind of tricky to know where your appreciation is supposed to go when she's basicly nakatas side project. She definitly doesn't deserve to be discredited completely, but at the same time it feels weird saying "i like her songs" when she's just a performer. But i do like her performances though. So i guess one has to approach her the same way one approaches cover bands. It's about the energy and delivery i guess.
