Question, how flexible are Dollfie 1- or 2- piece torsos compared to other models out there? Can they bend like Mirai here? Are they better than Mirai? How good/bad/terrifying does the joint look on 2-piece Dollfie torsos and does the 1-piece flex readily? Do you end up with a massive chasm of underboob if you try to bend a DDDy or one with Peach Pai, etc?

1 piece torso is not very flexible. The dolls can't sit up appropriately, and they get this weird torso bulge due to the jointless torso.

I haven't had any issues with my 1-piece sister body, but then again it did replace a dd2 which isn't very poseable so maybe my perspective is a little distorted. Looks-wise I like the 1-piece sister definitely the best since the bust seam on the 2-piece ones can look a bit awkward. Particularly on the ddy where the bust seam is right under the breasts it can create a very unflattering "uniboob" look from some angles with certain outfits.

I've done it before, but it's still a colossal pain in the ass. You're gonna need a whole day for the most part. I did it across four afternoons,and my fingers hated me afterwards.

I used the thread method on a parabox head, it looks nice for a 1/6, but wigs are probably the better and easier choice in the end, as long as it's a natural or common color. non-standard colors though, good luck.

I don't dislike dollfiedreams, it's by far the best forum I've encountered so far for dolls, but that is not saying much as they are few and far between. Forums for Obitsu owners are even rarer and most things like maintenance and whatnot are fairly universal so dollfiedreams isn't entirely useless. It gets bonus points for being relatively friendly, easy to navigate and open to new users, as opposed to that "other" place.

With Dollfie Dreams, the parts can be bought separately, or you can buy a completed doll (either a limited edition or one of Volks' standard character models).

Resin dolls are usually bought whole, not necessarily with faceup, though. That's because the bodies are strung together. DD bodies are more like giant action figures, with arms/legs/torso connected to an internal skeleton.

Some people do, some don't. There are lots of retailers that sell clothing, wigs, shoes, etc.

Some people do, some don't. If you want to start painting faces, buy a cheap head and get ready for your first few tries to really suck. Companies offer default faceups for an additional charge. With Volks dolls, the limiteds all come with clothing/faceup.

There is this Japanese molding plastic used for arts and crafts - that's what most doll food is made out of. It has an official brand name but I totally forget the name now.

It's like sculpy, except some sort of polymer plastic. It's sold in strips and can be heated to make it pliable. Comes in solid and transparent colors too.

1. Buy a standard model doll directly from Volks

2. Wait for the next pre-order or lottery event (where you can buy limited dolls of licensed characters). Lottery is just that - you enter for the right to purchase the doll. With pre-order, anyone can order the doll and you make payment when it actually ships.

3. Mandarake for second-hand limited dolls (they are usually in great condition and highly discounted, but have fabric stains from dark clothing. These stains can be removed with RemoveZit, a product for cleaning fabric dye from vinyl dolls).

5. Buy a blank head, commission an artist to do the faceup, and buy the body separately.

There are A TON of resin doll companies. I would recommend going to tumblr or flickr or something like that, find a head mold that you like and find out what company makes that doll.

Korean companies are usually considered "top tier" while Chinese companies can be hit or miss.

Most dolls come pre-assembled. If you buy a body without a head, you may have to re-string it to get the head on. Likewise, if you get a doll and the body is not strung to your liking (too loose = can't pose; too tight = 'kicks' when you try to pose) you may have to restring. If you buy from a good company, the doll you get should be strung properly with no issue.

Dollfie Dreams can be assembled together, but they are like giant figmas - the parts just snap together.

The doll you're looking at, I'm 99.9% sure, will come pre-assembled.

You can also pay someone else top do their makeup, if you want a resin doll with anime style makeup you probably need to do that. I would tend to agree. The Dollfie body looks better when the joints are at ease, but if you get crazy with the posing you start ending up with huge gaps at the joints, that's if the pose you want is possible at all. Of course, if you're a half decent photographer, you can do things like pic related and hide every joint the doll has. Though this ruins it if you're a joint fetishist but w/e.

I would say I still prefer the Obi50 body though, as I'm the sort of person who sees them more as playthings than a pretty statue. The bonus flexibility makes things like giant doll orgies and/or games of twister much more realisable.

I've had one of my Obitsu 50's standing on one leg for ages. Her foot magnet holds her in place on her metal plate. Do DD bodies come with magnetic feet? I've always assumed no, but never actually thought to ask.

So there's a custom idea I've been brewing on whether or not to go through with for a while now and just yesterday I decided I had found the perfect head for it which is an expensive limited. Anyways. we had met up with a small town in the area. Maybe 150 residents in total. One of the people we met with was a small scale rancher who mined some of the nicer garnets and sold them as facet able gems. A local pointed him to us, thinking that all gemstones were the same. We arranged to have tea with him, and it turned out he was a white guy, with a half breed wife. He was Rhodesian and she was South African. His family had lost everything because of both of the wars. By shear chance, I am half Rhodesian as well as my grandparents had fled after the fall of the unilateral declaration. So we hit it off. How I met his daughter is she was the one serving tea. She did not have much grace, and was pretty clumsy. At one point she spilled sugar on a pile of sub caret stones I was showing him, forcing me to have to sweep it all into a can to be separated later. (We put the mix in a coffee filter and ran water over it for a while. Still wonder what corporate thought of the pile of sticky diamonds we sent them)

She was just so cute I had to forgive her transactions. Name was Anna. Her father and I decided to go hunting for bushmeat a few days later, followed by drinks.

We were just hunting for fun. Some people do hunt commercially, but he had enough money that he could have a bit of social time. Working with people is needed for exploration, else they will hesitate to talk to foreigners. After we discussed plans I set out to leave, and Anna's father pulled me aside and requested that her and I would be formally introduced. I was unaware of the meaning of this at the time, and I said okay. We set the date for it the after our hunting outing, and I thought nothing of it.

So we went out and got a few small fucking monkeys or something. I learned to eat anything in bangkok, where the street venders sell things like "breaded meat with sauce" with no further information. or just "meat". After dinner, we threw back some strong drinks, kinda like a local gin and tonic. Joel made it himself. It was made from distilled wild rice wine and soaked in mint, with sugar and quinine pills added. Bitter as fuck and way to strong for me. Joel grabs his wife and Anna, and says something like, "This is my daughter, Anna." and she bows, and I introduce myself and bow. Anna give me a small kiss on my cheek, and her father just fucking bursts out laughing and slaps me on my back and congratulates me. Anna brings out cookies and dried jerky, which was real beef, and we sit there talking for hours, with Anna leaning into me. From time to time she would whisper something into my ear. Jokes, gossip about locals, etc. She was home schooled by her parents, so she was not really stupid. I would place her maybe a grade or two less then other kids her age in the US. Not her fault though. Quick head, and street smart. Somehow I agreed to take her with on a field survey. None of my co workers were there to stop me, so thats what happened there.

She was excited to go, and we set it for a few days in the future. I stumbled back to a jeep and drove back to camp and collapsed.

I picked her up on the arranged day, much to the obvious displeasure of my coworkers. She clung to me for the entire day. I dont think it was exciting as she thought it was, seeing as it was mostly overlooking workers we brought in digging trenches, and us helping digging trenches when they did not move fast enough. I gave her a pan and a collection of heavy mineral concentrate to occupy herself, and just let her find the stones she wanted. She found a few nice pyropes, and a single small diamond. Her father mined them quite large scale and pulled in some pretty nice income from it, at least in a local scale. Ranching gave him most of his income though.

At the end of the day, she was covered in water and mud, and while she had been bored, she was now completely happy. I took her to the camp shower, and she rinsed of. She came out of the shower and her white tee shirt was transparent, and it just clung to her, and showed how curvy she was. Just perfect. I had realized after the hangover wore off what her "formal introduction" might have been, and I was happy with it.

I took her back home, and her father set it up so I would see her twice a week. Once after work on my "short day" and once on my "sunday" Field time is expensive, and companies dont like giving you weekends. So you get a short day, which is 5 hours work, and a "sunday", which is off. They are not on any particular day though. The move around depending on what kind of work is being done. You can also bank them. Most of the time they were drinking days, but I had spent a lot of mine with Joel. At one point I had called internationally so my gradparents could talk to him.

So basically all my free time was suddenly spent with Anna, something my coworkers did not care for, but knew that it happened more often then not that a rock monkey got hooked up with local meat.

Most of the time we just sat and talked. She would absorb anything I told her. After a month or two, sometimes we would just sit and cuddle. Just holding each other. Joel would come to the river side where we might be a sleep, slap my back and bark like only an african can, "Anon my son, you will marry my daughter." and I knew it to be true. Working in the field and seeing the perfect women on the side, it was just a perfect life. I love africa, its one of the last real places on earth. Nothing like this fucking dingy town in the midwest.

I had ordered an ounce of silver and had a few diamonds that had "never been found" in my possession, and a few kilos of rough nephrite jade, plus a few grams of high grade jadeite. I made five rings, and a necklace. I did not have much for lapidary supplies, so they had a rugged look to them. They were set with rough diamonds, larger ones from a different project, and very high grade. I pulled Joel aside, and gave him and his wife four of the rings as a dowry, and asked for his daughters hand. He started cry and saying "my son, my son" and calls his wife in, and they start crying too. I start crying too, we were just a mess. Finally, we get calmed down, and cleaned up, and he brings Anna in. I ask her to close her eyes and open her hand. and I set the ring in it, and close her fingers around it. I then let her open them and look. She looks at it, and I ask her if she will be my wife.

She kinda chirps, and flys into my arms. I was prepared to quit my job at that moment, and live with them, or do my best to take her to a job in south america or something until she was of age, and then marry her in the states. Plans could wait, nothing could be so good as how happy I was then. I had her for the first time that night.

A few days later, Joel and I are in the town, telling his friends the happy news getting introduced as a son, getting food as gifts, the whole nine yards.

We had met with the magistrate when we started the project, and the "exploration fees" (read: bribes) he charged where much higher then the commonly accepted social norm. Bribing is the way things get done over there, but asking for excessive bribes is seen as being rude.

We are at Joels when a group of people come. The grab his wife and just beat her. One of them splits her ear with a knife. Joel is held down and just kicked. They beat me a few times, breaking my nose. The magistrate comes in, and puts out his cigar on my wrist. His son followed him. Son was maybe 16, a piggy fuck. Dark as the night. He grabs Anna and drags her into the other room. I can still hear her scarring my name. I had a gun pointed to my head, and told if I was every seen in this area again I would be killed. He then shot Joel in the leg. Anna was screaming as I was escorted out.

I left, and filled for medical extraction, pulling out of the project. My coworkers asked no questions. I did a small project in Brazil, and then left the company. Thats my story.

Think ill spend the rest of the day drinking.

The magistrate wanted his son to marry Anna, because Joel had a fair amount of land. Joel had mentioned it a few times, but did not seem concerned. The bribes we gave him were from the company, so we would have his cooperation while we were exploring for kimberlite.That is really common practice to lube up officials like that, else they get in your way or contact other companies. I did not interact with him after the first week. He must have found out after Joel and I went around telling the locals, as it was pretty shortly after that. News spreads fast.

I spent maybe 6 months in Serra Leone, and maybe 2 weeks in South Africa after extraction, SA hospitals are better, but as I had nothing physically wrong with me, they had no choice but to sent me back to the states.
