Where can I buy a modern Japanese rice cooker for the unlucky resident of a 50Hz 240V nation (Engrand)?

High street doesn't sell them, nor do J-food stores over here. I even bought one in Japan, then I remembered I'd need stepdown transformer and was pointed at something twice the price as the cooker and four times the weight. Did not want.

Sticky J-rice is awesome, and brown rice is good for my health. Health is important when you're 20-something and fighting leukaemia like me.

I know they make them 'cos the Chinese suffer under the rule of 50Hz too, and they eat lots of rice.

I'd buy Japanese for the cooking and appliance quality. Cheap rice cookers lack features, dry your rice out and are likely to break down before a quality one. Also new japanese cookers have fancy cooking technology that is meant give better texture, called Induction Heating i think.

You get what you pay for with with cooking equipment.

weather the rice is good or not is not determined by sticky-ness, stickyness is determined by the type of rice (long grained rice always come up less sticky than the short gtained rice, when cooked under the same condition)

A good rice have to be fluffy and the entire grain have to be soft, any hardish center = fail

Japanese rice's stickyness comes from the type, often known as "Short grain rice" or "japonica." The short grains of rice are more glutenous and therefore more sticky. What is important in a rice maker is NO GLASS LID. It needs a hinged lid akin to a pressure cooker to cook well and steam well.

Last thing: brown rice in Japan was traditionally for people who could not afford white rice or for old people that used it as a laxative.

I'd actually like to find a good supply of American long-grain rice but I'm in Europe now, so the only american types are the shitty Uncle Ben's.
It's not great for Japanese rice either, unless you want to spend a fortune at a specialist Deli on a bag of (frankly crap) special import that's been on the shelf for a year.
Personally my favorite rice type isn't Japanese anyway - I prefer a good basmati.

Im looking for a rice cooker, it cant be pinku (thats japanese for pink) or any girl color. It has to be of 240 or more bolto (thats japanese for 240V) and has be be chibi (small) sized. And has to be really kawaii (cute). Also It has to be about 10-20 bux. And you have to post pics of it first (i want to make shure it's kawaii (cute)). Most supermarkets only sell very small bags of sushi rice in the UK, which work out expensive. When buying something you'll get through a lot of, don't want to run out of and keeps well it makes sense to buy shit loads of it. http://www.mountfuji.co.uk/acatalog/Rice.html will deliver.
Most of the rice is grown in California so it shouldn't be hard to find in the US.

Basmati is essential for Indian and Thai curries, love it just as much as glutinous Japanese rice. I'd like to cook more brown basmati rice, but it takes so much longer and requires more attention then white. I hope a quality rice cooker can make it simple, but I've never read anything about cooking brown Basmati in rice cookers.

Since being diagnosed with leukaemia I've given up on diary where possible. I've taken to rice milk instead of cow's milk. It keeps for months out of the fridge before opening, has a weaker but pleasant taste and still makes a decent cup of tea.
