Having to do it in one sitting is what makes it fun. Slowly chipping away at the gauge for weeks on end is boring, and you don't really feel accomplished once you clear it because it becomes just another thing that you do daily. But a decisive final battle involving upwards of a hundred sorties over a single day makes you feel like the king of the world when you clear the map.

But to each his own, I guess. The one advantage I'll concede to no-recovery is that it doesn't encourage sitting on a massive pile of resources for no good reason, though it doesn't discourage that either.

Did they say specifically that the ships are unusable or did they just say that the ships are just "locked"? For all I know, they said the ships are locked but did not specify if they are rendered useless. If they were going for historical accuracy, the "locked" fleet would have some use since according to the MI plan, carriers from the Aleutian strike force were supposed to trap the American fleet once the American fleet had reacted to the Midway assault.

What if there is compass trolling in AL?
I mean you are going to need to try and error to clear AL.
What if all the ships that actually attempted the maps are locked out?

Manually set the proxy settings after you load the kancolle screen.

You could just copy-paste the server IP adress (it's in your API link) to pac file generator window and let logbook create the file.
Depending on whether do you have IE11 installed or not, you either upload the file to dropbox or save it to a local disk.

Oh and when the carrier forces of Yamamoto got rekt'd, he tried to bring those carriers at the Aleutians to try and box in the Americans while his surface ships tries to close the gap between him and the American carriers in the hopes of engaging in a night battle. It was rather stupid though since the Aleutian carriers were 3 days away from Midway and neither carriers were as fast as their front line carrier counterparts.

Just got two more dock expansions for the event. Hope I can finish it, though.

Just 5 weeks ago I was completely out of the loop, had only 3 CVs above 50 and blew my reserves of 100k in every resource trying to get Musashi, now I'm almost all the way back at 100k, with almost 160k ammo, I have every carrier in the game at level 80 or above too. If you are not ready for this event you can only blame yourself.
