>> No.12350744

>>12350561

So I just did it since I hadn't played that stage in a bit.

Basically, you have to make it through that wall. It's the last part of the spell card if you've damaged her enough and the only challenging part -unless- you didn't do enough damage.

Just focus on damaging for the easy parts, circle clock-wise, dodge the first two walls with ease and squeeze through the third to finish her off.

I have a replay but I don't think I can upload it anymore yet? Anyway, I hope that helps.

For Dragon Bullet, the beams fire in cascades made up of groups of three, with two groups crossing in the very middle. The cascades are the same every time, with the only difference being origin positions, so you just need to familiarize yourself with where the beams cross and you should be good.

Hourai Jewel is just streaming, you start on one side of the screen then slowly move to the other while avoiding the barrages of round bullets. When you're beginning to near the wall, look for an opening, and after the volley of bullets has fired quickly move to the wall in order to create an opening, then repeat the process in the other direction. It's tricky the first time you do it but easy after you get the hang of it, I could upload a replay of it if you have trouble.

For Dragon Bullet, stay at the bottom when the big colourful beam are falling, then go back up to avoid the slower balls, then go back down again before the next wave of beams.
For Hourai Jewel, make sure you have the sound effects turned on, because you can restream it right after the sound effects play when the bullets bounce of the wall to be aimed at you.

It's also important to consider what standard. It hasn't been specified whether it's based on scoring, no miss, no bomb, regular clear, whatever.

>> No.12405721

>>12405368
She's not a cakewalk compared to other ST6 bosses on Lunatic. The fact that she has 14 boss attacks already makes her the longest fight.

She also isn't as controllable as some fights (Kanako, Utsuho). Her first five attacks are have fairly difficult danmaku compared to most other final bosses, and are highly reliant on RNG. In addition to that, you have to memorize multiple other attacks and approaches.

When scoring comes into question, she's one of the two final bosses with lengthy scoring milks, and you have to unfocus on the patterns you don't milk down and graze, some of which are the most random ones.

I myself consider her the second hardest, after Remilia, and before Byakuren.

Since they are difficult to do consistently on full runs, when there is pressure behind you. The Japanese going for their 6 Billion runs fail or safety bomb some nonspells at times.

Also, since we're comparing them to the other boss's nonspells, I can only think of a single more difficult final boss nonspell, which is Byakuren's second. Touhou 14 not included, since I haven't played it enough to have formed a solid opinion on patterns.

Let's see you time out the first three Kaguya nonspells on the same run, then.

Her first one isn't too hard when you know it's designed to trap you, her third one is quite random but usually not too difficult, and her fourth is really easy. Her second is probably the hardest. Her nonspells are still harder than most though (Remilia's second and third, Utsuho's first, Yuyuko's last...), but the difficulty with Kaguya mostly come from her spell cards, not her nonspells.

>> No.12406845

to me a stage 6 boss is only as difficult as his final spell, which you just can't bomb aside. Due to this I think that Kanako, Remilia and Kaguya are much more diffucult than Utsuho, Yuyuko and so on.

>> No.12406850

>>12406469
If you misdirect her second non-spell, then it becomes really easy. Her non-spells are only hard because they aren't just some simple streaming pattern. They're no more difficult than Miko's non-spells.

And Kaguya's spell cards aren't any worse than the spread of difficulty in most other stage 6 bosses. The problem is just that Hourai Jewel is such a non-factor that it's hard to compare bosses that have difficult final cards for most Lunatic players to her.

>> No.12406931

It would be harder to NMNB with no spells captured.

>> No.12406945

>>12406850
The second nonspell becomes easier if you misdirect it, but it's still fairly dense and random compared to what most other nonspells are.

Miko's nonspells are slower, more predictable, easier to read and have less variation than Kaguya's.

I don't see Hourai Jewel as a non-factor. It's in essence similar to LFS, as it's about manipulating the enemy pattern and memorizing a path that works. It becomes very difficult and straining when you want to graze and PoC it. Kaguya also has five more spells after it, including Rising World which is another random burst of fast and dense danmaku.

I don't know what are these so difficult cards for most Lunatic players. Are talking about people who work on no bomb runs or first clears, or those actively scoring on Lunatic? I can only think of Scarlet Gensokyo, and VoWG, but the latter is very manageable once you have practiced it. It's a good attack, though.

Miko's nonspells are really easy to fat finger, which is pretty much also the only way to screw up Kaguya's first few nons. Once you've played against Sakuya a few times, Kaguya's first non feels really easy by comparison.

Hourai Jewel's memorization is much easier than LFS though because you can use the coloring of the bullets to your advantage.

If you're only talking about scoring, then Kaguya is really hard. Probably one of the hardest. Not too difficult for survival though.

Just learn a trancing route and trance/bomb your way to victory. Trance makes you invincible for 10 seconds and doubles the amount of bomb/life pieces you get when you collect bomb/life spirits in trance mode. Also some scoring stuff that probably isn't relevant to you. To know when to trance, just look up someone's replay. And yes, it does break the game in two.

For the first non, start in the middle (both vertically and horizontally), like that you'll never get trapped.
For her second, she starts with aimed shots, so start to the side, then move under her when she's finished. The second two volleys are in a fan shape, so just stay under her until she shoots straight down, avoid that, then go back there.
Her third is stupidly easy; dodge one knife and you've dodged them all (out of that wave).
For her last non, the first part is actual dodging, and the bubbles and flames are just streaming.
For Scarlet Meister, you want to start to her left or right, then as she shoots, dash to the other side, then quickly dodge the stray bullets before she fires the second wave. The just repeat that.
