Oh come on. There are so many things that are wrong with this setup.

Replace Yuudachi's 12.7cm with a 10cm high angle and give Shigure a torp + 10cm combination. DDs' 3rd slots are for sonars. And Kirishima should take a standard seaplane + sanshiki. This setup has always served me well for 5-2.

As for plane setup I've always favoured supremacy over superiority so I'd have put:
Reppuu/Reppuu Kai/[blue]/Saiun on Hiryuu
Suisei 12A/Reppuu/Suisei 12A/Suisei 12A on Ryuujou
Reppuu/Reppuu/Reppuu/[red] on Souryuu
where [red] represents Suisei Egusa if you have it, or Suisei 12A if you don't, and [blue] represents Tenzan Tomonaga if you have it, and Ryuusei Kai if you don't.

But since you're going for air superiority at the boss node:
Ryuusei Kai/[blue]/Reppuu/Saiun on Hiryuu
Reppuu/Ryuusei Kai/[red]Suisei 12A on Ryuujou
Ryuusei Kai/Reppuu/Ryuusei Kai/Suisei 12A on Souryuu

This mission is all about luck. You need a ton to get through the RNG which will try to waylay you twice.

There will be a 2/3 chance you meet a sub, don't take the risk and always choose the one that's good at killing subs. That way you can get away with only having either sonar or depth charge on both destroyers and still kill the damned thing, and still have double attack at night.

I put the star shell and night recon plane on Haruna, and the searchlight on Tone. By the time you reach the boss you're largely disadvantaged so you will want every advantage you can get.

Using 20 has a noticeable improvement in odds over just 1, but the data may be skewed since that's become the most common amount to use.

If you're not in a position where you readily have 20 dev mats to make all your LSC attempt with, you should probably hold off on LSC.

How the fuck are you supposed to defeat the boss in 1-5? Holy shit. This is fucking ridiculous, everytime i get to the boss node, my ships waste all their shots with the small shits instead of attacking the enemy flagship. If they do attack the flagship, it survives with 4 hp and any other attack misses. All the attacks on night battle miss too.
