I think it's fun, but you usually have to reroll (make a new account) until you get a decent starter monster from the (random) rare egg machine.

If you want to start, I suggest you wait til an event called "godfest" which has much better odds.

The stamina system is sort of a double-edged sword: if you're not paying for it, you need to be attentive and enter high-cost dungeons before bed/levelup.

i use pad backup manager for multiple accounts, but it also makes rerolling for a starter much less tedious since you can skip the tutorial.

I've been struggling with this game ever since that Astaroth ulti announcement. Astaroth has always been my favorite monster, even though I never rolled her. I just comforted myself by telling myself that I'd never be able to use her anyway, since tank leads are boring as hell. Now with that G/D ulti, she's even cuter than before, and I don't have that excuse anymore. But even with that ulti, she's not that powerful as a leader (mostly due to lack of subs), and I've rolled several leaders who are much stronger. On one hand, I can't bring myself to abandon all the gods I've already rolled to reroll for her, but on the other hand this whole game feels meaningless when I don't have an Astaroth.

Help me, /jp/.

That's why they're similar. Only two toy dragons are farmable, and that's because they got considered so necessary for certain teams that they got voted on for survey dungeons.

Feel free to roll if you want, but don't be surprised if you get duplicates of the fairytale girl you rolled when you roll during a later godfest/carnival.

She actually has more decent subs than Baal. Marine Rider/Marine Rider, Devil Ceres or King Baddie/Hera-B/Zombie Dragon should work out fine.

Green devils exist, but they either lack a good active that compliments the team, or row enhances, which you kinda need if you want to deal acceptable damage with a 9x team. Marine Rider is accept for this purpose, but a rider active being the lowest CD orbchanger in your team kinda sucks. Devil Ceres is good, but pure utility, there are plenty of dungeons where you'd want an offensive active and awakenings instead. King Baddie is wrong color and only useful for his active, feels like a waste of slot. Hera-B and Zombie Dragon are only good if you use their actives together, that's two slots out of which you only get one row enhance and one turn of burst. There's also grape Meimei, who I have no complaints about. I'd feel kinda cheated needing to go for the ulti with shitty awakenings, though. Also, out of all these, only Astaroth and Dragon Zombie has skill boosts. So no orbchangers up before turn 3.

I'd probably be satisfied if I had an account with Astaroth, Meimei and Marine Rider, but even then it would be inferior to teams I already have.

It is a shame Dragon Zombie's main attribute is dark though it is probably the only way outside of using off type subs to make Hera-B useful on the team.

Devil Ceres is not pure utility on the team since Attacker Asta has the stupid ass LS where your ATK and RCV buff stays only at 50%+ HP, depending on the dungeon you may need to use a full heal active to not get fucked.

King Baddie is off color but the 3x damage boost is a good enough reason to run him on the team. I do agree Green Devils needs more support to be legit but these subs are still workable compared to what other off color/type combinations has.

And yeah, the team is purely for trophy right now. I want to use my Astaroth more too.

/vg/ only covers best Starters for NA. It will never tell you to roll a Saint Seiya because they don't exist in NA to begin with.

In addition, the tier list, specially recently, has been butchered, Bastet was downgraded from God and Zhuge reigns the easy meta right now, but greater leads like Pandora are just Great because needing specific REM rolls, even though they're generally better and sometimes easier, depending on what you have, Great to God tiers will differ in JP, so I wouldn't trust it too much.

Most likely you'd just want to roll a Bastet during Gala, and maybe if Godfest is good enough you can wait and get a good starter like chinese or heroes, or a special God.

It's not complete and not totally accurate, but you'll generally do fine following it. For instance, some leaders good tier and even okay tier are actually much better than Kirin with the right subs. But Kirin is really good no matter her subs, so she's still a good pick if you want to make sure you don't have to spend money later to get the right subs. I also find the distinction between god tier and great tier really minor.

She still has no way in the current meta, she's a really lazy leader that doesn't even have skillups, her only two skillups other than herself are extinct and expensive, she doesn't even fit as sub anywhere, mostly because of that, specially not the meta teams. Hell, her own endgame teams are often not farmable with her, unless you want to spend days worth of gameplay just to get them, which translates into double the time and stones wasted compared to average God.

Sakuya is always the best choice for Starter boxes even though she keeps falling down the meta ride. If you want to Spike and Stall you either play a Sonia or don't just Stall all the fucking time and start out with a real God like Sakuya, then move to making other teams.

Her typing is all fucked up, trying to play her with rows will be retarded, trying to play her as autopilot Stall is boring and only offers better attack than generic God/Devil like RSonia at the cost of much less survivability, which translates into being unable to even step into specific dungeons altogether. She will also need more REM than them because of this Achilles heel and will not truly get anywhere with it.

Trying to play her defensively and offensively is truly a nightmare, the best thing I can think of you could do with her attacker form is put a bunch of GOdins if you even have any, and that's so cancerous it's worth killing yourself over, literally turning her into an awful version of BSonia, Healer will have no actual strength that can compare to any of the other Healer leads, she's purely defensive Stall Healer on the wrong type.

If you're just starting out, you probably don't need that much advice, unless you have some very specific leaders, it's all about practice. Just try to always do one more combo than you can do effortlessly. Eventually you'll start to see patterns that can be solved in one movement, rather than needing to simulate the movement of every single orb in your head.

There's more advanced stuff like orb-storing, using board space efficiently, and meeting certain leader skill or awakening conditions, but that comes after you can handle the very basics.
