The one wish I have is to send /jp/ one of my tasty homegrown watermelons. Unfortunately they would rot in the mail. I've been growing them every year, and they taste delicious.

I take them by the lake and eat them while cooling off, it's also a great treat to have while fishing. I really like gardening and cooking, in fact I worked at a restaurant for a while. This was much too stressful so now I live with my mom. I also like going to Japanese and oriental grocery stores and finding new things to cook with. The people at the Japanese stores are so nice and welcome everyone, but any kind of chinese store I've been to is full of grumpy men and women who hate everyone, especially foreigners.

Got a useless degree in media that's only good enough to make pennies from my job.

Isn't this the case with most farming areas? It's kind of a joke dream and I love living near Tokyo, but I think I'll feel bad unless I finished grad school and get a really good job in the city with a nice view, or something. It seems like anything less and I'd rather just work in the country being kind of secluded.

I had friends, was good in school, and even had a job at one point. Then I got into otaku hobbies because I thought it would be a fun distraction from normal life.

Five years or so later, I don't really talk to anyone outside of the internet except my sister and one good friend of mine. I haven't worked for 3 years now, and I don't even have an internet connection at home, nor am I attending classes. I'm still having fun, though.

Joke dream or not though, working on farms over there could be a pretty legitimately fulfilling job if you don't mind labor. I only did it for a few days but I'd jump at a chance to return in a heartbeat. It's not that bad of an idea if you're ever serious about it someday.
