I don't know anything about this board. I'm moving into an apartment for the first time and can't be bothered bringing a bed up. I saw that the Japanese use futons on the floor to sleep on.

Does anyone here do that? Is it worth it? Any benefits?

I really don't know, but I bet they sell little "bonsai" plants for the students somewhere near campus. See what your folks/loans (and roommates) are up for paying for (and living with).
