I just started as well anon. I'm not and amerifat tough, so I'm happy.

I played a bit of all 2hus, and eods seems harder than a lot of them.
I took an advice and I'm playing imperishable night now.
I would recommend doing this; I got to the easier end on normal.

Question. Why did you start playing it now?

My friend kept making me play songs from it with him on osu! and I wanted to know more about the game they came from because I found I liked the music.

I'm just playing the sixth one because it's the first one available for Windows.

>>12237197
I don't even know what that means.
The pic in the OP is the farthest I've gotten so far.

Which character is the best? My friend told me to play Marisa, but I like the attack style the other girl gets.

EoSD is probably the easiest out of all of them after getting over the initial learning curve. IN is "easy" in that the deathbomb window is so enormous that you can kind of brute force your way through it, but it builds bad habits that can be hard to unlearn so I wouldn't recommend starting with it.

>> No.12237249

I like playing as Marisa, but Reimu is much easier for beginners, partly because of her smaller hitbox and partly because her homing shot allows you to focus on dodging without worrying so much about positioning your shots.

I also have started playing recently due to a friend who kept nagging me to do it and calling me a 'secondary gay baby'

My first game was on normal with reimuA and I got my ass whooped by Cirno

Now, a week later I can easly reach 4th stage on hard with MarisaA and no continues used
(And I have a shitty keyboard that won't let me fly in diagonal directions and use bombs while shooting)

Just play the game regulary and you will get better, dude!

don't be shy when it comes to using bombs

you get 3 for each life and if used correctly they essentialy tripple your hp

every time you feel that you are gonna die or just are in a dangerous situation use a bomb.

I played purely Lunatic a while ago, and actually made progress, but Normal is still enjoyable.

come on guys, its not as hard as you make it sound.

Just keep a mental note of how you die and try to not do what you did to get yourself dead. If its spell cards that fuck you over then do practise stages until you ace it.

that and stage memorisation plays a big part

>> No.12237604

Yeah, for sure. Not necessarily the bullets, but the timings that enemies appear, and the patterns they appear in.

I try to collect as much as possible, so I really get hung up on the interim between bosses and make careless mistakes, when I could better spend my time just trying to survive instead of darting around the screen grabbing orbs.

>> No.12237606

For some reason with motioninjoy opened the game only uses the analog stick. If you want to use the d-pad, just connect the controller but don't open that program.

I don't like the keyboard for fast circle movements. I tried analog sticks but those suck ass, except for that. For now d-pad is doing good.
