I recently evolved my golden knight servant, and now she's doing some shit that says she "brings out the power of her equipments". What's up with that?

Finally! I missed you guys. Started training magic, magic storm is a bit a pain because of low stock. Is there any other damage spells worth training?

As for my bread and butter damage spells...I like magic dart, crystal spear, and lightning bolt. Make sure to cast element scar before spamming lightning bolt though. I don't really use magic storm that much since I usually have much stronger spells on me. It's easy to train though because you can just stand there and spam it but training other damage spells is still pretty easy. Just go to the void and use your spells on enemies there.

I'm kinda a heavy armor melee fighter transitioning to magic. But most enemies beyond south tyris have high resistence right? So I was thinking on training only no elemental spells but they are quite hard to come by. Then any spells with element scar/nightmare are worth it? Hehe nice captcha...

For a long time there were enemies that had no magic resist which is why I trained up magic dart and crystal spear. With recent versions of elona+ there are now enemies sporting some magic resist but nothing really bad or for that matter nothing to be worried about if you stack gear that adds magical damage. As for the reason why I went with lightning bolt over some of the other elemental spells is because lightning bolt doesn't damage the stuff dropped by enemies and if you make an opponent wet(which you can do by just chucking a potion at them) it provides an additional damage buff. In all honesty though don't depend on magic for damage. Melee weapons and ranged weapons scale far more better than magic currently as far as damage is concerned. Magic is great for all the utility and and healing it brings to the table which is the real reason people should take a look at picking up casting.

Well, if you like Elona, maybe you could try ADoM? Vanilla elona is heavily based on it, but it's a traditional roguelike as opposed to a rogue-lite. You might see a few familiar places like the puppy cave or tower of fire! And the etherwind is based on the corruption...It can be tricky, but it's how I got started on roguelikes as a kid years and years ago.

You get penalties to spellcasting if you are wearing heavy or medium armor. So I'd recommend transitioning to light armor if you want to become a spellcaster, or else you will have to continuously take off your armor to successfully cast spells and that will suck. Medium armor can get a casting special, but light armor is still better anyway.

I was kinda like you, a medium-armor claymore that switched over to a spellcaster. There's no real bonus for being a heavy armor user, I just changed all my armor to griffon scale/spiritcloth and used scrolls of flying on my best armor and favorite diamond claymore. You can still have crazy PV/DV as a light armor user if you use the right materials and flying scrolls, but now you can cast spells too
Specializing in two hand as a claymore was also good for me, as dual wielding or using a shield also causes a penalty to spell casting chance.

You don't actually need to be in light armor, nor do you need to restrict yourself to using one hand. I'm playing a loli thief, and I don't go into a dungeon without any stock on at least my basic spells: Hero, Holy Shield, Feather and Regeneration. I'm currently training both attribution and speed (speed's a hella hard to read). Pic's my combat build, by the way. No problems casting even on dual wield it just naturally trains and trains the more you use it - and you will use it. Given, I am restricted to wearing light armor because I'm a cute loli, but I think the Spell+20 special ability more than makes up for the cast penalty.

Oh, yes yes. I'm using 2 armors, 3 long swords and changing equipments to light to train the spells, I'm saving little sisters to get another Swimsuit for Danger Swimwear. I got tired of melee because I can use Twin edge, Smash tonfa, Dual wield skill with Vesda gloves, time stop and nether damage for some life steal. And the spells/buffs looks good with my Vital flayer, my objective is to farm with Meteor.

I found an older portrait sprite on a forum and I merged it so it works with the newest version of elona+.

Don't bother with quests until you some decent gear. I suggest you hit up the puppy caves and just loot the stuff you find there. Get stuff identified by a guy in Vernis and wear what fancies you and sell junk. When going into the puppy caves don't go too far down either...try to stick to the top floors until you get stronger. Also, make sure you bring food. Buy some from the baker/chef in Vernis. 3 top causes of death to newcomers in Elona: Kobold, Starvation, and Reading a spellbook you're not literate enough to read causing you to blow up. So my advice...run if you see a Kobold, always stock up on food, and stay away from books for awhile...

Making a gene only creates the gene file, there isn't any way for you and your spouse to make a new NPC, but you can have sex one night and then summon something with a diary and pretend it's your daughter/son.

To the guy asking about having kids in his house, I just double checked.
To leave an ally in your house, use a house board and select Allies in your home. You can then choose an NPC to leave them in your house, and if you choose that option again, you'll see allies that are stationed in your house have (Your Home) next to their name.

Kinda like a mix between marshmallows and jelly/jello. It would be like jello, but still have that puffy-ness to it. Like that feel that it expands in your mouth kinda and is full of air. I started working on replacing the images. I use mostly stuff from cartoons and I wanted the graphics to go with the monster girl sprite sheet because I like the anime style. Still have to work on it though. It's hard finding images that preserve the original feeling.

Like was mentioned in another post, it has to be cropped to be used though. I think some of the other Elona mods use the 80x112 resolution for the NPC portraits, which is why most replacement sheets are in that size now. Squishing them down to small enough to fit into the 48x72 size really ends up looking bad. It'd be nice if Plus changed their portrait sizes too, since they had a fairly talented person doing their portraits and sprites for a while.

You can just keep using potions, and that will get rid of it. It adds up, like power for hexes, so you don't need to remove it in one go.

My bell is currently using a 7d7+4 repeating bow and I'm thinking if I should maybe I should be throwing some of the precious weapons that I'm not using now that melee weapons can be thrown or if firearms are better in the long run.

I quite enjoy building my own home. Almost autistic about it.

First floor is a remodeled small castle, furnished with a bathroom, kitchen, master bedroom, foyer for meeting guests, God room for Ehekatl, science room for gene engineering, church room, magic room, forge, bar with pickpocketed casino, small shop, pond for fishing, maid room, servant room, etc.
Top floor is a roof orchid with pickpocketed fruit trees so I never run out of food. It's also Japanese themed, with Eastern furniture, walls, and doors.
First basement floor is a small castle storage floor, with a vault and treasure display, more guest or ally rooms, S&M dungeon, and junk rooms.
Second bottom floor is an underground winter room themed for Christmas at Noyel, with their theme, snow tiles, wooden or christmas furniture, and pickpocketed christmas trees, snow trees, flower arches, and souvenir/food booths
Was thinking of making a futuristic/technology/cyber house theme floor after that

I'm too lazy to get a picture of all of this though.
I just like making the perfect house so I would potentially never have to leave it.

I think it's because the original image wasn't properly saved as a bmp even though the file says .bmp. If you save it in paint as such, then it is proper but if you use something like GIMP to save it as a bmp it won't work. Not sure if photoshop does that too or not. This is what I've noticed from using custom whatevers.

So if anyone experiences something like this try re-saving it as a bmp using paint.

This is My Home, or - My Town, more like. It's a slightly remodeled small castle.

To the bottom left is a sort of inn, which holds the the available residences for my guests, who are served by my maid, who runs the inn. I've yet to get some proper cooking implements to place in the kitchen, since I'm always carrying my own barbecue set.

To the bottom right is the Library, directly connected to the Alchemy Laboratory, where I have 3 magic researchers (vendors) working there, and when I get a black market vendor, she'll be stationed there as well. In the middle is a sort of plaza, with a pleasant display for three of the gods I have statues of (Kumiromi is in my Farm). I'm currently planning to expand the residential area, so I may be remodeling this area soon. The castle guard (a friendly <Silver eyed witch>) patrols this area.

Above to the left of middle is my fruit orchard and an idyllic picnic area complete with a small pond. Isca, my good friend, roams around here.

And finally, to the right of middle is my own residence, a large enough home for me, my dear Valkyrie, cute fairy, my Older sister and two younger sisters. It's a big, happy family.

There are also the two rooms on the extreme top left and right that I don't use yet aside from storage, but I'm thinking of expanding my home as well as possibly make a small bath house.

Does anyone else practice combat tactics with their pets, or do you just do what yo want while the pets follow you around, mincing your scrap?

As a loli thief, the latter usually isn't an option for me, since I'd get squished in an instant. My usual order of combat is, I'd cast Weakness on a strong target monster to trigger my friends' aggro, run away from the monster who would have then targeted me so it can crash into my Valkyrie, who'd usually use provoke and tank all the aggro in the room while I shadow step and assassinate the enemy glass cannons while my cute fairy armed with railgun takes down the target monster.

I like making characters that are specialized in one field then making a band of friends that complement that build.

In my game, I'm play the role of support, mainly, like healing + command and control. Only if necessary do I actually step in for point removal of big threats (especially now that I'm starting to go in 80+ dungeons with my character at 40 and pets at < 35) One thing I sorely wish for this game is to have your support spells also affect your allies. It's not difficult to produce artifact weapons with it brings an end. I have about four spears and one lightsaber that invoke it. No need to kill Vanity for one.

I'm having a hard time once again distinguishing which weapon is better. What do you guys think? And does the piercing attack count towards my melee as well?

A note here is that I'm mostly a melee fighter. I think the first one would be better but it doesn't seem to deal as much consistent damage as the second one. Also, my crossbow skill is way higher than firearms, but I don't have much of a problem with leveling up firearms for this.

The piercing attack would only proc if you use the gun so no it doesn't count towards melee. Your assessment is correct. The first gun has a higher damage potential than the bow but the bow will deal more consistent damage. It should be noted that if you do decide to go with the gun be careful around certain monsters because it's not acidproof or fireproof like that bow is. It's your call really for which to use. If you are planning to lv up guns it's better to start sooner than later considering it will be hard to tear yourself away from bows if you've been using it for so long.

Isca has finally gotten her own home, the one to the left of mine. One of my younger sisters moved in with her. The each of my other sisters also got their own houses, in the middle of the map. I also moved the picnic area to the upper left and added some picnic goers - a couple of new friends: a carmilla and a little girl. They were summoned using a mysterious book so they don't count towards my party cap. I plan on adding more residents this way.

Oh no, I always have something in there. Right now I have a rod which gives extra melee hits along with some stat buffs. It's just that bows and other ranged weapons are usually a bit heavier compared to whatever I would put in there for the buffs.

I have a pair of boots that has the "it sucks blood" attribute.
I also have a pair of gloves that "diminishes bleeding".

Every so often I'd get the "bleed" status ailment, a turn goes by, then it goes away.

One time, I was raping this one drunk bitch. I was pumping my stamina into her. Then all of a sudden, blood just explodes out of my body in a huge torrent and completely drenches her. The torrential downpour ends about a second later.
