I never played Fate/Stay Night because at the time it was translated and was a thing, I was a Tsukihime fanboy and a hipster who disliked change.
I still never played it. None of the girls really appealed to me either and I had a bad feeling about the series. Did I make the right decision?

Plus he only was able to best her by tapping deep into Archer's memories, so even the fact that he was able to beat her wasn't due to his own merit.

That was a massive failure and you know it. There is no way it can be considered a victory.
