If you just "visit" to Japan, it is one of the most beautiful and comfortable place. If you want to "live" there, it is one of the stressful and uncomfortable place. I gurantee because I am Japanese :(

Most Japanese, include me, can not speak English well. Sometimes, we are afraid to talk with foreign people. If you have few Japanese skills, it will be difficult even to get foods... :(
On the other hand, I can live in the US now although I have few English skill. I love the US :)

Most people go to Japan just for vacation so of course it's fun.
Once you live there, you get bogged down with all the same realities　（Work, school, annoying people) as　you would back home. The vacation honeymoon feeling ends.

I just love japanese streets.

Maybe it's because of the connection to anime but they warm my heart. The narrowness of the streets is so cozy. Then the powerlines that are everywhere. Houses don't look alike and it's all a bit chaotic in general. I also like the wending machines that are everywhere. I wish I could live in japan for at least a month. I would spend every day taking walks on the streets. It's a shame it's so far away and the language is so difficult to learn.

sunrise is the best dude, nothing beats a hike in darkness into elevation and watching the sunrise crest it or the horizon.

sunsets tend to be more colourful, but sunrises are emotionally intense and rewarding. why not spend the whole day from sunrise to sunset up there instead?

Tokyo in the snow was gorgeous, I brought the wrong gear to shoot it. T1i + 50mm lens can't capture shit. I needed a wide angle to get any decent architecture shots will all the huge buildings (keep in mind, 50mm on a crop comes to like 65-70mm focal length).

Also dark, my sensor ain't too good at lowlight. I gave up on photos and just explored Akiba and Yanaka Ginza a bunch.

because a T1i above 800 iso is the grainiest shit I've shot on. Even at f 1.8, I had to bring shutterspeed down to or below 1/100. That's where my own genetic inadiquacies came in, I have about 200 shaky as fuck photos. And using such an open aperture in a linited visibility situation like that would have resulted in 1 large blurry photo, doing scenescapes in a fast aperture is like taking macro photos with a wide angle lens.

Kibi trail near Okayama. It's about 15km long and there is a bunch of shit off to the side to look at such as shrines, temples, and burial mounds to look at. So I go and kill myself.

I live in Adelaide, South Australia. The city is just all squares and the state government and councils all want to keep it that way. Which means nothing ever gets built. Its so carefully planned that in the end everyone just decides to do nothing because thats the safest options.
Even living around Nerima for 2 months was amazing because down every little side street were interesting little shops and it just seemed vibrant in a way my city never can be.
