Going through koiken revive FD - one of the big missed opportunities in the main VN was the lack of aliens, as the writer just whitewashed it with "they drop from the sky, we don't know much but no appearance for aeons" rather than actively inserting it into the story - something of raison de'tre for both Akane and Yves. The writer decided to add this and except it comes in the form of a cute girl going about learning girly stuff and having fun, and frankly the all-so-serious metre isn't going up with the battle so it feels incomplete job. I understand this is a moege/whatver and not something ala muvluv, IMO this could be pull off better in full fantasy realm rather modern realism with a touch of magic.

Don't ask why I bother with koiken and its FD, laugh all you want, fellows.

I am reading Mahoutsukai no Yoru. In beginning was a bit boring but chapter 5 was just great. For change it is quite nice to read something which doesn't have voice acting. Some feels I am actually reading instead just listening. Also in this game characters are making really comical expressions which is just lovely.

I did the game on very hard from start to finish without repeating routes just fine. There are plenty of ways to deal with many enemies and bosses with the same loadout. It becomes way easier once you get bits as well.

I always used the same combo against both mobs and bosses.
It's just that mobs would die halfway through while bosses wouldn't.
The only time I had trouble with this was near the end of the game with the enemies that move under you and shoot lasers up.

Either way, it's a really enjoyable ride all around, and is also really easy to read. No reason to not try it.

Eustia is tortured and then made to become the substitute angel. Then caim breaks her out and she diffuses into the country to save it.

I'm mostly done with Grisaia no Kajitsu and i must say, it really fucking surprised me, cause i thought it's not gonna be that good. I'm sort of a newfag to VNs and i'd love to find another gem like this. Current top 3 would be Majikoi, Grisaia no Kajitsu and sharing 3rd katawa / little busters.

Thanks. As i recall, I've went through vndb with criterias like slice of life, comedy, school life a few times when searching for them.

What i liked about Majikoi: Protagonist's personality, jokes, warm fuzzy feeling with group of friends, hot chicks all falling for same guy, 'choices'.

Griasaia delivered on most of those, except with a lot more feels and bordered on katawa since they were sort of disabled. Also protagonist had no sense for women, which was annoying.

So i guess something in the lines of comedy, feels, friends, love. I fell for Miyako from Majikoi badly man.

Yes i have, the dialogues soon became boring to read and it felt like a wall of text with no feel to it. I also disliked the graphic style, more into 'polished' stuff i guess. Too bad that girl's mom wasn't a route heh.

I may have missed a few, but: Apart from what i stated, i also tried:
Canvas 2 (also boring, not even a story, just same events going on into nowhere with no feel to the game).
Shuffle (Quite loved it, the story was different with the whole gods demons and humans together, the characters had a nice feel and made me wanna complete all routes. The girls dads were hilarious. Generaly a happy VN with a daww feel)
I also do not like protagonists being evil like in G-senjou no Maou. Crime and murder is also a turn off.

I played Katawa long ago but i remember i went with that blind chicks route and liked how it all went lovey dovey but the bitch randomly ran off on him and the guy was just liked 'okay'. Hated the ending. Grisaia no Kajitsu's Michiru route had the perfect amount of feels / tears with a happy ending. They put in a perfect contrast of heroines in there as well, going from slutty mature friendly girl to a misterious awkward girl.

Memoria ended up being more of a miss than a hit for me.
Gameplay-wise you can see the good ideas but they end up not meshing together well and the interface is clunky as usual.
I mean as a rpg it's serviceable and charming despite all the clunkiness but that's all.
Writing and story wise, well I knew the story of 1 beforehand so I didn't expect something epic but god is the writer they used trash.
I mean the Ikusa Megami series never had great writing, and I say that as someone who love Zero and like Verita quite a bit, but the writing in Memoria is several level more shit.
And all these references to Kamidori, one or two would have been cool but goddam.

Anyways it's pretty much far inferior compared to Zero, it's not that bad as an ero-rpg but I really really hope they won't use the same shit writer for the remake of 2

Have been playing Kamidori Alchemy Meister. The art is good, the story is a bit boring but tolerable, the gameplay is fine although it can use some refining. But holy shit this game sure has a lot of grindfests.

Finished BSZ2, including the over three hours of skipping and battles of Marelle's route for three additional minutes to cover something unexplained, why the fuck isn't there a flowchart or even a battle skip option like in the other two games is beyond me, or better yet, just make it flow normally without the need to replay it.
Aside from that, it was really fucking good, the way it tied all the individual route plots and how it dealt with Marelle and the AIs, the happiest end of the VN by far, which is a plus, really liked it and, despite its length, it's really gripping and keeps you interested throughout, worst part was probably chapter 14 which was somewhat boring basically indofumps with only one battle and the writing was quite dry during it.
Mouschez was the best girl in the game even if Sora and her couple of minutes of screentime make her the best overall girl as usual.

Really awesome anyway, also Eiji is forever the best source of humor.

- Roka story is designed in such way that you will not enjoy or even understand it w/out both Zero and VERITA. There are situations and even individual CGs and lines which are repeated from Zero/VERITA, and unlike VERITA, Memoria doesn't explicitly explain what it means. Without backstory their relation with Roka is extremely retarded.
- There's Abiles story with Abiles IF-route, which is designed as bonus for people who played Zero.
- Shuri/Revi are all about their past relations with Celica yet almost nothing is explained in Memoria.
- Lots of situations like griffon egg quest are direct references to prequels.

Reincarnations, fate and "history repeats itself" are major themes of IM series, which make sense only if you read titles in correct order.

The common route has a few tiny sections of drama during the flashbacks, but it's not really full blown drama, just stupid kids being stupid. Tsubame's route gets into hardcore drama for a bit over an hour or so, and I guess it's the same for the other routes.

It has its share of serious moments, but it also has a ton of fun moments. You could always also try PRETTYxCATION or something instead.
