Look through the game again. Kohaku expressly intones in both Tsukihime and KT that getting caught with that TV would be a very bad thing. Further evidence on Akiha's method of living is that she knew as much about snack/junk food as Arc did--i.e. not at all. Shiki had to help her with lunch and vending machines.

She's a strict traditionalist--the only other TV allowed was one the guests brought when they were staying in the mansion.
