Trains and onaholes are not inherently /jp/. You can go post trains in /n/, which is under the Japanese Interests section of the site anyway, and onaholes only have the benefit of having anime girls on the packing and lack of anywhere else to go going for them.

VNs and Touhou are not -more- /jp/ than it. Touhou is equal to it and VNs are half /vg/ nowadays. Kancolle is a shitty game that belongs on a seperate netoge board that moot is too much of a bastard whorechild waste of sperm and egg to make. I don't get the deal with KanColle, the gameplay is your classic boring grindy "strategy" game and the characters aren't that intersting (just a couple of them are remarkable while the others look really plain).

It was pushed pretty hard. The guys behind it have marketing means and know-how. Tons of merchandise and advertising which creates buzz. Sexy characters help, but I think the designs are pretty meh myself. I mean, it's no Eiyuu Senki.
