Finished ドコのドナタの感情経路, The routes are short with nothing to write home about and the only reason to play the game if you like the artwork or one of the characters. Only 3 scenes per character, the amount of CGs is on the low side and the interface is also rather basic. Sayaka's route easily tops the rest.

Sayaka > Miharu = Misato > Tsubasa > Kokona, in terms of character and route quality.

On a side note, not being able to remove the arrows and return from the CG in the gallery is rather annoying

Majin blood doesn't work like that. As explained in GnK, anyone with majin blood can expand its influence and change himself into more pure majin arbitrarily using some of Bread's equipment. Yeah I don't think I've ever read a protag I could relate to. I mean there's been plenty where I thought "oh he's a nice guy, I like him" but that's different than him acting like me.

It's hard to describe but for me a "self-insert protag" is less about acting how I'd act and more about being invisible as possible. Like not having any unique quirks or personality traits, having a small amount of actual lines, basically being a doll that is "acted upon" instead of "acting". That allows you to kind of pretend that you're in his place and imagine what you'd say/do in that situation. Well, needless to say I only like those for mindless moe moe kyun type VNs. And even though I say all this I'm actually the type that complains about male characters not having enough depth and that kind of shit.

Sometimes you need a little more than jp locale, such as changing both time format and time location to Japan/Tokyo, respectively. for me 戦場のフォークロア for example would have garbled incomplete text without time format set to JP. One time I also had a nukige that refuses to install correctly unless I had both time region and time zone to Japan/Tokyo, which then would play without either restriction.

Yes, stuff like text hookers and Translator Aggregator are used as guesslators by some people who are too lazy to learn Japanese at all, but you can also disregard the machine translator parts altogether and just use the programs with JParser, Rikaichan etc. as fast look-up for kanji readings and meanings.

I don't really need them anymore, but I like hooking it up just in case some rarer word that I don't know does come up. Much faster than writing the word myself and pasting it to an electric dictionary or looking it up from a physical book. Of course the the fast to use dictionaries can also serve as crutches depending on how willing someone is to actually memorize the new words.

Also I've lost count to how many times we've been derailed with this discussion.

Well, see, that's exactly the problem. It was obvious from the trial that the writing was shit, so the only reason people bought it was for the art. To pay full price and then find out you were only getting a third of what you were expecting must have felt like quite a kick in the balls.

That's some funny slav fanservice. Being a slav myslef I can tell ya there are a few types of "trains", for example "elektrichka" and "poezd" both mean train< but here are some differences:
-Elektrichka works on electricity, hence the name. Poezd uses charcoal.
-Poezd is bigger and is meant to cross our lovely and giantic mother russia - and that's many days of travel. Poezd is made so that there are 4 beds in a room and you can have a sleep. Elektrichka uses just seatings.
-Obviously, poezd works at night since it travels a long distances, elektrichka doesn't work at night.
Elektrichka is more like buses and it is being used to travel among nearby cities. And if there are train otaku, here is some information about Sapsan, there aren't much of them and they use only one route:

I mean, can you imagine dating a girl named Electrictrain? (short name would be Elly, I guess) It's legal in Russia, but still incredibly stupid. I understand names like Angel, Princess, Radost (happiness), Beryoza (birch - tree, which is considered a symbol of Russia), even some Soviet ones like Vilen or Arvil sound ok, but Electrictrain? How much do you have to hate your daughter to give her that name? It's retardation on the level of Dazdraperma (Soviet one, means "Hail, Labour Day", sounds like "sperm"), Euromaidan (after recent pro-European wave of unrest in Ukraine, literally "Eurosquare") and Khaleesi.

Still, if you know enough Japanese words and grammar, it shouldn't be a problem to chain them naturally in speech.

I don't think the writer is too concerned with the sensibilities of some Russian mofos on foreign message boards. Elektrichka sounds "cute", isn't that a diminutive form in Russian anyway? So there you go. People who care this much about nonsensical foreign names are weird.

Hmm, sure. sure, but she doesn't have any problems replying to anything. The protagonist even twice says she seems fluent. It doesn't take her any time to come up with a reply, she just speaks it out broken.

I guess I'm overthinking it at this point. She's the foreign girl the protagonist can aim for, so if she's to fulfil reader's fantasies of a foreign girl, she better look and sound very foreign. And accent and broken speech are meant to accomplish that.

I think the actual problems with foreign language speakers should be:
- sometimes making absolutely improbable mistakes, which no native speaker could ever make;
- forgetting a word or a phrase and either stammering trying to recall it, or replacing it with something too simple or too complex for the situation;
- not knowing obvious cultural things.

And the foreign accent representation by native speakers is usually totally different from how the foreigners actually speak.

There are better cases: Veronika becomes Vika, and Vera is a completely unrelated name. Alexander or Alexandra may become Shura. Margarita becomes Rita or rarely Margo.

"Ch" is from "elektricheCHestvo" (eletricity), and "k" alone is not dimunitive. If you want to speak about some small cute elektrichka, you'd actually say elektrichechka.

This is giving me Hatsuyuki vibe. There's that one track that sounds a bit scary I hope it doesn't end up too serious later on. At least please no death. And that first sex scene happened so quickly, I'd be surprised if the boy is not some kind of vampires. But it was still really hot, unlike those h scenes in Hatsuyuki which felt out of place all the time.
So far I'm guessing this boy is some kind of relative to Alice, purely base on the fact that both of them live in a barber shop, alone.

Finally finished the trial, took me about 5 hours. I like it lot, was really hooked by it. The girls are cute and funny, and sex is hot I almost mistook it as a nukige. But I'm guessing there won't be as many h scenes after the trial for quite a while because that part has already come to a semi conclusion. The reading story at night before going to sleep part is pretty well done imo.

Turns out I guessed right about quite a few things. The boy could be Alice's bother or something, and he's not a vampire but a devil. And there must be either a parallel universe or a time loop. If I have to take a guess, Alice's dead grandfather will be a plot point at some point in the future, he's probably the guy who made the book and Alice's brother or dad also got possessed by the devil at some point. At the very least there shouldn't another dead heroine this time.

Really, writing can mean anything you want, it's just dumb to use it where you can say "presentation", "execution", "storytelling", etc. Because you are going out of your way using it to differentiate from "plot", but ignoring that the term itself has two important meanings.

It's all just me being autistic, but it does confuses people into thinking "execution" can always be replaced by "writing". Even when they aren't reading it.
