It's also too bad she never really had proper characterization or development apart from her initial introduction and the pretty one-dimensional stitching and "I'm a beast" insanity deal later. She should really have had her own villain route like Seijirou, Karuma and Yurika instead of constantly receiving the short end of the stick.

I assume I'm not to only one who was expecting her to turn out to be some kind of awesome Heydrich expy based on the first trial.

Senshinkan was kind of a mess all around. The characterization for pretty much everyone in the game left a lot to be desired and the plot had more holes than swiss cheese. The prologue makes no goddamn sense after finishing the game. I think the theories that the game's plot was supposed to go somewhere else and was re-written at least halfway through make a lot of sense.

It was thoroughly explained in the beginning of mizuki route. Seems like you skipped half of game or didn't understand what it says.

>The prologue makes no goddamn sense after finishing the game.
That's what I thought too. I was initially speculating that it had something to do with Yoshia or somehow be part of the central themes of the game but in the end it was just Mizuki's trauma and the reason Shinno haunted her which itself felt a bit disconnected from the core plot.

>> No.12011596

I always wondered as this general covers an extremely broad spectrum of software, how many different "genres" do people here usually dabble in? Somehow I doubt that people who primarily care about moege also find interest in more serious scenarioge and vice versa, or "gameplay eroge" (a term I am sure did not exist five years ago), dating sims, Illusion's 3D simulations, etc. for that matter. In short, how many of you care about "VNs" in general?

Yes. Mizuki's kyuudan can revert time, and she used it because Amakasu didn't want to end it so fast.

I personally enjoy various types of games. Constantly reading plot-heavy stuff or chuuni gets tiring so it's nice to let your brain have a holiday and read some innocent moege in between. And I actually like ones with gameplay a lot, assuming the gameplay itself is good of course. I also enjoy Illusion's games and am really looking forward to Artificial Academy 2 though as the other Anon said this thread is not the place for them.

>>12011618
>So it was all in her head or what?
It was her brother's past. Nobuaki wanted to become strong and to be loved by Mizuki, but due to his weak body and Mizuki's half-assed response to his confession he kept overexerting himself and as Mizuki put it "losing his actual wondeful traits". Nobuaki himself noticed this and took his own life before becoming more twisted by his unrequited love, though deep down he also cursed Mizuki and as such accidentally sealed a contract with Shinno.

As for the actual fight
Amakasu is obviously just playing around but accidentally kills Yoshia with the "Rods from the Gods" attack. Mizuki reverts time with her kyuudan and Amakasu lets them go since he's genuinely interested in seeing how Yoshia turns out and his original plan was to give birth to more rosei like him anyways. Shinno also erases Mizuki's memories and lets her go since he wanted to toy with her some more

>> No.12011649

You can explain everything that doesn't make sense in Senshinkan with "Karuma did it".

>>12011623

Yoshia lost horribly the first time around because he simply didn't have as much experience/history accumulated unlike his second attempt where he fully "awakens".
The reason is as >>12011642 wrote, Amakasu didn't stop Mizuki even though implied he could, because he wanted see more of their spiritual brilliance, and potential for more fellows.

I'm still hoping for a fandisc with routes for some of the subcharacters from the first game. Man, I really loved the side characters in both games, and not just as heroines I wish I could fuck, just in general. I actively look for games with a good subcast, it makes things immensely more enjoyable for me (Tsuyokiss has been my favorite overall in that regard, as well as being my favorite moege/charage/bakage/whatever you'd call it). Though it can be pretty dangerous as there's almost always at least one girl who I love even more than the main heroines and it makes me sad that she doesn't have a route.

One nice exception is Gears of Dragoon. I can't think of many others, though.

How I wish I had a thing for tsundere. Side characters can be much more unique and often times weird, I'm sure sometimes you're not even "supposed to" like them in a romantic-type way and they are just there for comic relief.

I feel you man. I wish I could play more moege, but most of the time I don't feel attracted to the heroines aside from their character designs. They're pretty bland personality wise, and I'm not sitting through 20+ hours of fluff of characters I can't even stand.

I don't know what the general reaction to it was but Menou-hen was such a kusoge to me that it made my go from neutral to hatred for all the heroes after playing their routes (and more specifically their h-scenes), the type that isn't just bad but actually makes you mad that you wasted your hours on it, etc. Good holy hell I never thought something would be worse than Diabolik Lovers. And I actually liked Menou as a character, hell after I was done she was basically the only character I did like beside Kaguya, I was just so pissed at the other characters and the events and everything in general. Now I'm afraid of Kaguya-hen.
This is what I get for playing an otome game.

I can't say I know how you feel, because the archetype I like the most (eternal lolis) can't be the main heroine (or even a heroine at all, sometimes), it's sort of an unwritten law.

Still, it's not only for moege, I feel that it's the same for nukige and scenarioge too. The makers often go with the "safe" choice for main heroine.

(I'd like to clarify, just in case there's a misunderstanding, that by side characters I meant non-poster girls, not minor ones.)

Hello, Lady is pretty different compared to RuiTomo, Comyu or &, much more straightforward and "plot-focused".
Not to say that these 3 games have no plot or something but they spend more time building the setting and the web of relationship compared to HL that doesn't waste much time getting things rolling.
The fact that HL is more focused also show in its narration compared to RuiTomo and Comyu, a lot of the narration of these 2 titles is spent on philosophize about various fact of life and society, they can get pretty nihilistic at times.

Not saying they're wrong in this case, but I tend to take any cost-related information from minori with a huge grain of salt. This is the company that claims to have spent 100 million yen on Supipara.

In any case, the least they could do is render the text and UI elements at high resolution, but they don't even do that. Maybe it's too much to ask from an industry that can't even get their scaling algorithms right half the time.

You can save at chapter four/five, but yeah, it's boring.
The ending are basically the same save for the epilogue. For a synopsis
Loui accepts Paimon's offer and becomes the leader of the demon gang with the purpose of defeeating Celica and getting Ekria's body to revive Irina.
Celica on the other hand is being taunted by his shadow and they go to the tower where the whole god killing business started (really cool visiting that map since it's quite in ruins). At the end he accepts it back and regains his memories from when he was Celica.
Then they confront each other and, depending on the points:
Louie defeats awakened Celica and witch of massacre Ekria. Gets her body and revives Irina. At the end he's happy she's there but she's deeply regretful about it and prays every single day for her sister.
Or Celica and Ekria team against Louie, defeat him, his waifu tells him a few words before dying. At the end Celica is 'human' again and will die naturally of old ages, vows to spend his years with Ekria.

Well, ultimately all that stuff is just eclectic bullshit made up by Renaissance occultists, alchemists and the like, who just reinterpreted or rewrote older myths on their own. So, in a sense, not quite unlike what Eushully is doing with their lore.

Is Muramasa still enjoyable as reading if I was spoiled that the girl is mc's kid and she's dying while having a dream?

It's not enjoyable, period. There's enough shitty twists waiting for you, one more or less doesn't make a difference.

>> No.12023779

It should be fine, especially since that twist becomes pretty obvious way before it's revealed. Read for the journey, not for the destination.

I remember him growing vagina in IM2 after loosing a lot of mana when he called a meteor from the sky.
I also remember villain of that game raping him in one route. This can count as masturbation, since he is Celica's other half.

With Celica being captured and Ekria being proactive it could be a chance to reverse 'damsel in distress' stereotype, but instead they reinforced it by turning him into a woman, as if being a woman is synonymous with being helpless.

Just started Lovesick Puppies. I'm pretty interested in all the heroines, except the hobo loli. I think this game has the best explanation for why the chilhood hasn't confessed to the MC I've seen yet.
It's also made me laugh quite a few times, and the abuse the imouto is constantly spewing weirdly doesn't feel as bad as usual.

The childhood friend is actually the best girl and her route is probably the best too.
Good girl.

What's the reason?

MC had a dog who died of old age, he got really sad and ignoring everyone, got into a fight talking about how the more you care about something, the harder it is when you lose it. She decided not to be anything special to him in order not to make him worry about it. It doesn't seem that convincing like this, but the scene was pretty emotional.

While that reasoning is rather good, that idea of hers is rather sad.

I always wondered whether it's always the same guy opening the new threads. If so, it would feel like theft to just go and start the new thread without his consent, so I just don't bother and wait it out.
