Hey /jp/, let's have an Air thread, since /a/ sucks.

Was anybody else really pissed off by the ending?

Yukito sacrifices himself, goes back in time, and gets reincarnated as a crow.

AND NOTHING HAPPENS

Misuzu still dies, Haruko is left alone, and Yukito ends up as a fucking crow.

Sure, he broke the curse, but it only resulted in a "happily ever after in the afterlife" ending. That feels like a major cop-out.

What should have happened was:

Yukito somehow fixes everything through time travel à la Blick Winkel and lives happily with Misuzu. With her life no longer in danger, Misuzu reconciles with Haruko and they become a real family.

tl;dr It should have had a true end like CLANNAD. If Tomoya saved Nagisa by helping a bunch of people, why couldn't a thousand-year effort by Yukito's family do the same?

I know what happened, but it still pisses me off.

Misuzu has the soul of a winged being (Kanna) and is cursed to die as her human body cannot contain the soul. Yukito uses the accumulated magic of his family line to try to save her. He is able to break the curse and the two die, able to live together in their next lives.

It sounds nice, but considering the effort put forward, the reward is a ripoff and too ambiguous.
