Someone on the wiki said the dungeon cleaner showed up during a summon spell, and did the unique recruitable dialog when it was killed. Has anyone run into any old chars that are showing up as recruitable now in new versions of Plus?

>>11990996
You need to recruit whatever as a pet to ride it, and you need the riding skill, which gives you a special action that consumes 20 SP. It can be kind of a pain if you consistently run low on stamina, but it's great early-game. Especially with races that have low speed.

It DOES lower your accuracy, and makes heavy weps unusable. Which I've always hated, since using long and heavy weps on a horse is a lot more common than using short and light weapons.

Regarding recruiting hostiles with the Astral Light Pen: While you can't give them engagement stuff, you CAN give gifts and tokens of friendship to hostiles, which increases your relationship with them. The difference is that the level that you get it to doesn't show, so you have to keep trying the Pen when you think you've given them enough stuff. Tokens are easier to get in bulk, but you need to get them to Friend for the Tokens to start working.

A recent patch also halves the level needed to recruit someone. So for example, you'd have to be only 50 or higher to pick up Gwen the merciless at her base level after beating Zeome. The penalty that "-god" race characters get has changed as well, but it still probably would not be worth it to try to pick up Chaos fort bosses since it hits their stats pretty hard.

>>11992066
It really is still decent. But when that was written there were barely any other unique options, and finding other good weapons that were under .5 stones to meet the wield requirement was really hard. Plus, it does give the "see invisible" attribute, which is nice regardless of version.

Oh, also about the pen: time doesn't pass when giving gifts and tokens, so you can keep giving more then trying the pen to check if it's high enough without the boss or whatever getting in a lot of free attacks. Using the pen itself doesn't use it up unless it works, and doesn't pass time, although I think it IS consumed if it works and you have too many pets to recruit the target.

Before Elona+ changed the damage formula and increased the upgrade limit to +12 your damage was mostly based on how good your weapon was, and it's hard to find something else with 4d6+18 base. It also has see invisible, thief protection and stamina drain which are relatively difficult to find, moreso on an item with other bonuses. If you're a melee character but don't want to use it for whatever reason (two hand, other weapon class), you can still stick it in the ranged slot for see invisible/thief protection and throwing it isn't half bad either.

Hey, this is a pleasant surprise. I was sad when the last thread died and didn't expect another one.

According to the wiki, Martial Arts has the potential to be the best damage in the game. Is there even a reason to use anything other than your fists for melee unless you're role playing?

>> No.11992705

>>11992688
That's extremely late game, and the benefits for having a weapon, including inherent skills and stat buffs, far outweigh not having one. Plus, it's harder to train strength because you'll only be training martial arts, versus training with a weapon and it's subsequent secondary skill (two-handed, shield, dual wield, etc.)

That said, if you solely focus on using martial arts straight from the beginning, you'll have a much better time over people who will want to move over to martial arts late game.

iirc, tonfas and claws equipped to your character still allow them to level up your martial arts skill.

>you'll only be training martial arts, versus training with a weapon and it's subsequent secondary skill (two-handed, shield, dual wield, etc.)

If you do equip a shield, tonfa or claw, you will level up the shield skill while using martial arts.

>>11992688
Unless you're theorycrafting based on stats and skills in the thousands, martial arts is fairly balanced with the rest of the melee fighting styles. It gets a lot of specific skills (a grenade attack, an elemental imbue), lets you equip a pair of claws/tonfas which can have damage reduction and/or nullification attributes and further boost your damage (you can have +24 from a pair of +12 claws not counting their base bonus). And the martial arts skill will scale up your base damage, and increase your armor penetration up to 50%.

But there are downsides, since martial arts gets neither two hand's ridiculous accuracy bonus, or the ability to overwhelm through sheer number of attacks dual wield does (you can still get extra attacks with unarmed, just as you can with two hand by equipping items with the extra attack property). So prepare to be frustrated with a lot of missing until you grind your way to an acceptable accuracy. Also, while your base damage does scale, two hand gets about double the damage modifier, and dual wield makes up through multiple attacks. Finally, while you can still get acceptable resistances and skill bonuses on your claws, tonfas or shields, you won't have access to interesting weapon mods such as timestop, stamina and mana drain, and various invokes. And you will seriously consider switching over once you find your first living weapon.

To sum up:
+ allows you to use shield/claw/tonfa-exclusive defensive mods without sacrificing damage (weapon+shield damage is terrible)
+ your damage will scale up very well
+ with claws/tonfas you can cast at 100%
+ some interesting stamina use skills

- very low accuracy
- no access to weapon only mods and living weapons

Is there a way to stop Elona from crashing when using number keys in Windows 8.1? I thought it might be a new Plus thing, but it turns out my old Elona beta is crashing whenever I hit the 1 to 0 keys.

>>11993290
One of the reasons I always hated two-hand and martial arts based characters is that you tend to lose out on a lot of bonuses that having the extra weapons provides. 6-handed mutants can really pile up the effects, skill boosts and resistances. Going mutant isn't as useful for long since the doctor in the 2nd continent can add a couple extra body parts later on, but going for a martial arts or two-handed char still seems like they would lag behind.

The last time I used someone with that many hands to it's greatest effect was when you could use Attribute to get nether health drain on your wep, though. I'm wondering how you'd keep your stamina high enough to use it often enough with a martial arts char.

>>11993450
They won't show up again, but those two aren't very good. They are both kind of joke characters. It seems that you can get pretty decent gains if you level them up slowly, fusing them with NPCs that are slightly higher level each time. If the NPC has a stat higher than the pet, then the pet gets a gain in that stat. It seemed much more effective, but I rarely see anyone talking about doing it, so it feels like I was doing something wrong. The actual skills still need to be ground out, but you can get skill potentials up pretty high at the dojo if you can save up enough gold. I was always spending so much money on other stuff that it was tough to dump gold into several pets to get some decent potential gains.

The newer Plus contains a "casual" mode called Overdose, which speeds up some stuff by 20x. Not a real answer, but one thing to consider is that androids in Plus recently lost their Boost special action, and get the cArmor bit, which reduces damage they take to 1/4. His speed is fairly decent for someone with that bit.

For the 2nd part, if you mean "dump your god, then pick them back up and pray for a new servant at ~1500 favor", then yes you can get a new one. Getting rid of the pet in whatever fashion frees up the "god pet" spot, including dumping them in an Abandoned Ranch, or whatever those are called.

If you're going that route, consider choosing a fairy as your race for extra high DV boosts, and choose first to worship Ehekatl of Luck to get the Lucky Dagger weapon which is incredibly good for dual wielding. It also only weighs .4s so fit for fairy.

If you're going to be an evasive character, you're going to need to get Greater Evasion. So if it doesn't already come with your class, make sure to grab it with your first wish so that you can train it ASAP. The only alternative to wishing it is to get it from the mage guild.

You only need 15 faith, so you can get it as soon as you have the unknown shell, and Lay on Hands is a fantastic ability, especially for a DV-based character with low HP. Her offerings are really easy to obtain too.

If you want a great weapon that can be obtained early on, go with the Ether dagger. The easiest way to get it is to nuke your house before you enter Vernis, but you can also dominate bells or get a powerful monster ball from a previous character.

There's also the Oti-Tubaki, which is another decent fairy-compatible weapon that you can pick up right at the start - just go to the Mansion of younger sister, hit the shopkeeper to make her start summoning them, and kill them until you have it. The Fire Breath feat might help here.

Can someone help a noob out? I'm playing as a gunner character.

Should I go for a DV or PV based defense? What armor should I sink points into, light, medium, or heavy?

If you want to delve dungeons with a party of monsters, little girls and catgirls, you've got the right game. Of course, there's a lot more you can do.

The early game is a little harsh, so you do have to start out with escort and delivery missions, but they'll help you grind out platinum which you need to get more skills, and gold to do stuff and buy things. Sometimes they give decent gear, too.

Eventually you'll be strong enough to do the battle missions which are usually quick experience and gold and platinum.

After you get to that point, it's just a matter of training to get to where you want.

I recommend grinding the puppy cave to get lots of scrolls, potions, some equipment, and gold and experience. After that just follow the main questline and get stronger as needed.

There was a guy on the wiki that came up with the idea of setting the whole map on fire. It kills tons of sisters quickly, although you need enough fire resistance to have it not damage you as well, so it might be tough to do it that way early on. I don't know how high fairy fire res is. You have to save occasionally and then check the art.log to see if the dagger was generated, since there's so much shit on the map when you do it that it's hard to tell when it shows up.

If he wanted to do it manually, he'd need to remember to bring an incognito spell, scroll or disguise kit so the higher level sister didn't end up killing him.

>>11997909
One thing that might help is to get some higher life pets to tank a bit for you. Even shotgun damage isn't going to make up for getting surrounded, so it's better if you have a couple pets that can survive to hold some enemy attention.

>I find magicians really hard to start with in Elona

First of all, are you playing the up to date 1.35r2 version of Elona Plus?

Anyway, best advice is to do escort and delivery quests until you get enough gold and gear to outfit your little sister. Maybe get a second pet if you do the Port Kapul quest with the scientist that gives you a few free low level monster balls.

With some mediocre gear for your little girl and maybe one other pet, farm the puppy cave for some spellbook variety and try to get ancient books for you to decode to get access to the mage guild.

Your main goal is to get enough ancient books to enter the mage guild freely. Once you do, there's a merchant who you can tell to stock specific books and when they next refresh inventory, they will have a lot of books of the ones you selected. Investing in this merchant also increases the total stock of books they will have supplied.

That's your ticket to have all the spell stocks you need.

I'd recommend saving enough gold to buy a ton of them, primarily Magic Dart as a primary offensive spell, and you'll want to train it a lot.

When it's the twelfth month, go to Noyel and take the sandbag (looks like a gallows). You'll have to free the prisoner. Anyway, get a deed of storage house. Cast the summon monster spell or use a rod or scroll of the spell. Do not kill a monster, but weaken one and then use the sand bag on it. There's your unlimited target practice.

Have a ton of Magic Dart books with you, and watch a movie while you train Magic Dart for a bit. Go back to the mage guild at Lumiest if you need to restock. After the movie is done, you should have trained Magic Dart and some of your other skills enough to do some decent adventuring as a mage.

Enjoy! Keep in mind that if the twelfth month happens while you're still getting ready to train up your magic, you can still stop by Noyel to get the sand bag early, and then do this whenever you are ready.

>> No.11998033

>>11998029

Wait, the wiki says that later versions of Elona+ do not give you experience from sandbagged things. Whaaaaa? I'm going to need to test this myself.

At any rate, there are rune gate worlds which have splitting monsters that you can safely target to train. That may be the only other option you have, but I don't remember how to find them.

You can alternatively take all those books with you and train it up the hard way.

Yeah, you pretty much have to start out being an errand boy until you're ready to take on dungeons. You can even train your casting and spells with the books you get from the puppy cave even well before you get access to the mage guild. The mage guild just makes it so much easier. Another thing you may try is to have a lot of disguise kits and some teleport rods so that you can sneak into the mage guild before you gain access proper, but that shouldn't actually be necessary.

I was certain that Magic Dart is the single best attacking spell in the game, and that the ball spells are good for when you're surrounded or whatnot.

- Choosing wizard for your class (10% mana cost reduction on spells, except the ones with fixed cost such as teleport and door creation), getting all the mana feats for +25 mana, and choosing Itzpalt for your god will help you a lot both early and later on.

- When short on books early on, remember to only read them once before depleting your stocks. You get progressively less stocks from reading the more you already have, so reading a 8 charges magic dart book might leave you with 300-400 stocks, while reading it one charge at a time can last you for as much as 600-700 in total.

- The potential of your spells goes up as you sleep, but only for spells you currently know. Never go to sleep before restocking any spell you exhausted. If you run out of books for a spell you're using, don't completely exhaust it, instead leave a few stocks so it can keep increasing its potential. When you find more books, you'll level it very fast.

- If you drain your mana too fast, consider having a lower level backup spell to kill weaker creatures, and only use your main spell on tough enemies.

- If you're not trying to play a pure character, don't be afraid to engage in melee with weaker monsters, to conserve your mana and spell stocks.

- Gear that enhances your spells is very important, but only the highest bonus from one piece of gear will apply. The Mag-Abyss is a frequent drop from any kind of lich, and also comes with some other attractive bonuses on top of spell enhancement, so I consider it a must-have for a mage, barring some extraordinary miracle/godly item.

- As soon as you can read Divine Wisdom, aquire as many books of it as possible and level it religiously. It gives you bonus magical damage which is handy for any tough encounter, and its literacy bonus is easier to increase than leveling the skill itself, which helps a lot with later books.

- Keep your meditation at a high potential (100%+). You don't always have the luxury of resting.

>> No.11999563

>>11999529
- Don't neglect your buffs. Holy shield and feather are extremely handy and easy to find even early on. Whenever you aren't dungeon crawling and your mana bar is idling at 100%, spam your buffs until you empty it. Doing this constantly will give you very powerful buffs and level your meditation for faster mana regeneration.

- While elemental spells are fun, magic damage spells are the most powerful due to enemy magic resistance not scaling. Don't be in a hurry to replace magic dart, it will remain useful for a long time if not forever.

- If you're trying to level a bolt spell later on, remember you can always cast it by targetting the ground under you using the * key. Unfortunately you have to repeat this for every cast. You can also aim your bolts at empty tiles, so you can kill invisible creatures by shooting a bolt at where you believe they are, if you don't have the see invisible mod.

- Hexes are another aspect of magic many players neglect. Slow can be extremely useful, and mist of silence is almost mandatory. It's hard to afflict bosses with them, and they last much fewer turns, but their power and success rate will increase as they level. Since enemies lose hex turns only every time they get a turn, using slow on an enemy and speed on yourself will create a huge turn gap that will keep your enemy just about frozen in time for a very long period.

- Carpentry isn't a bad idea to get early on. You'll be able to craft a ton of magic dart rods to supplement your spells. Leveling the magic device skill will also grant you magic gains.

- Magic is a crucial stat and doesn't have a shortcut to getting rapid increases the way some other stats have. Converting items with maintains magic to raw and eating them before dungeon crawling will help you make the most of your magic gains. Eating mandrakes, imps and talismans is also a good idea.

>> No.11999615

>>11999563
- Magic Capacity is often neglected because it's extremely difficult to increase early on. However, leveling it to 30 or so with skill points will make it easier to get further levels, and elea have it much easier. Focusing on it or ignoring it is a matter of personal prefference, but the artificial mana points it offers you can be a lifesaver in tough situations. Also, overcasting while out of combat environments is a good way to keep both your meditation and healing constantly increasing.

- While the warmage class offsets hard cast penalties to some extent, having any less than 100% cast chance is a huge weakness for a mage character. Even dual wielding light armor warmages' 99% cast chance can cripple you with an unlucky cast fail when in a tough situation. The 100% cast choices are light armor + two hand and light armor + unarmed (claws or tonfas don't penalize your cast chance). A pure mage will benefit from being able to equip 2 claws/tonfas with possibly useful bonuses, while a mage that doesn't shy from melee and can maintain light armor even with a heavy weapon will be able to supplement spells with very effective melee damage.

- Shadow Step is a crucial ability for melee characters, but can be incredibly useful for you as well. When that dragon has you in melee range, consider shadow stepping to the rabbit at the edge of your vision, and away from it, instead of teleporting, possibly in a room full of cluster bomb rocks or god knows what else.

- When you've invested sufficiently in magic vendors and have a large supply of money, buy wonder scrolls and bless entire stacks of them at a time. Some very useful spells (teleport other, restores) don't have books and meteor is just too fun to miss out on.

- Spells lose damage as they travel. While a big appeal of magic is the range, sometimes a very effective strategy is shadow stepping to your target and blasting it point blank. Remember to use Holy Shield first.

>>11999423
The initial pet you get actually starts at a higher level, including higher stats and skills, if you pick it up when you're higher level yourself. I don't remember if it's 1:1, but the limit is about level 50. Interestingly enough, wishing for ally gets you the starter pet dialog again, and you can pick up one of the initial 4 again, giving you another chance to get one of those at a higher level. The advantage over doing it from level one is just that the stats are higher all-around at the same level.

Of course, wishing for an astral light pen might be better now that the level requirement to use it is only half the target's level.

If you feel like save-scumming, you can also occasionally get ether mutations that would normally make you lose a slot without much of a drawback. Mazin are missing head and arm, so you could always pick up an arm slot later and save scum the head ether mutation. The stat penalty for that one is probably not going to help with a predator, though.

The benefit of taking one of the player races is mostly the feat you get, so no matter which of the debug races you try there's a bit of a downside.

Cure mutation is sold more often than not by magic vendors around 50-ish invest level. You can also find them relatively frequently on dungeon floors. They can be crafted if you have 15 alchemy (all robes give you an alchemy bonus), and one if-all-else-fails solution is to put on a fairy hat to prevent further mutation, find a pumpkin and let it chuck potions at you; some of them will be cure mutation. Also, if bad dreams are your problem to begin with, consider equipping a fairy hat before sleeping.

Cure corruption is guaranteed from marriage (buy any mid-level slave and let it kill things in the puppy cave while giving it all the engagement jewelry you find on the floor; shouldn't take more than 10 minutes), fairly easy to get from blackjack (the house cheats something fierce but there's some patterns you'll notice), can also be found although less often on dungeon floors, and can be generated from any container, especially dungeon boss chests. Rushing through a few level 1 to 10 dungeons (or whatever you consider a non-threat) for the boss chest should get you a potion in decent time.

Remember that both potions function significantly better if blessed, in case you have mutations and corruptions in the dozens. Make sure to uncurse them with a blessed scroll of uncurse/vanish curse, if they are cursed, or the effect will be reversed, mutating you instead.

Yeah, the larger face.bmp portraits are for different Elona mods that seem to have a common origin. I was thinking they were increased to a standard size of 80x112 from the face.bmp's 48x72. Some people played Omake when Elona originally went down, but since there was no english for the new stuff it wasn't really playable. The portrait and sprite artist for E+ is pretty good, but I always like a change too.

The Scrap for Elona guy that did those has a link on his front page to a downsized version for old Elona. You'd still have to paste it over the E+ page since there really aren't any alternates for the newer E+ people other than the Gods.

I am pretty sure this links to the actual bmp file, which might save you some time. Keep in mind that the blogging site redirects some files that originally appear to be .bmp files to a .jpg version. It should tell you if the file is a jpg in your title bar when you open it in a new tab by itself. The jpg compression ruins the images, so be careful.

This sheet is the only other one I know I have that I forgot to add to that sheet. I was trying to get them all in one place since they can be pretty hard to find on one folder, and using the 1000 layer sprite sheet with individual sprites monstrosity that I usually mess with isn't very efficient when I want to look for something.

There's a PC sprite sheet that I like, but the problem with it is that the originals that are separated into bits on the guy's site are squashed into the weird ratio that the original Elona games used, so it doesn't look as nice. I have the one from his pixiv site, but it's too large and would have to be manually resized. Pick your poison on that one. I'll post the pixiv one in a moment.

That looks like it was fun. I loved the part where in the middle of the fight you identified the cursed speed upper potion, read a blessed uncurse scroll, and then quaffed the potion. I mean, really?

So you carry blessed scrolls of uncurse but not scrolls of mana?

>you identified the cursed speed upper potion, read a blessed uncurse scroll, and then quaffed the potion

That was silly, I know. I'm paranoid that speed upper mechanics will change someday so the cursed version makes you lose speed instead. It's not very likely, but I won't run out of identify and uncurse scrolls anytime soon either.

I do carry mana scrolls, the overcast was intended. I kept trying to kill it either with crystal spear or shining wave which does a little bit more damage and after failing about a dozen times I decided to cast crystal spear until I'd start overcasting, so the damage from overcasts could boost my gauge to 99% and trigger diffusion wave, then switch to spamming shining wave. This strategy thankfully worked, because I was just about ready to give up.

If you mean the animated PCC ones, there isn't. You're stuck with 32x48 boxes, and as far as I know there's no way to use a static 48x48 sprite for your PC, even with Elosnack/Cheatengine. It'd be enough if the PC could use 48 pixel width sprites instead of 32, but apparently the modders never thought it was important. Since they could change the size of some things in other mods like the 80x112 NPC portraits shown above, it's a shame that the customization options weren't expanded a bit more.

In case anyone was interested in the difference between a starter little girl vs. a new wished for one when your character is 50+, here's a comparison. It's kind of hard to tell how much she'd gain stat-wise once she was gene-engineered to a comparable level.

Someone who concentrated on fewer pets than I did would probably have the skills quite a bit higher, since I couldn't afford to use the dojo much to raise skill potential at that point. But, if someone wanted to use a wish at a higher level to start using a new little girl, it doesn't turn out that bad.

Traveling doesn't just passively train speed, it also trains every other stat by training skills you don't normaly use (medium armor if you're wearing light, dual wield if you're using two hand, so on). And Gene Engineering impacts your ability to gather from gene sampling spots, most notably fairy dust which is used for lightsabers(100% pierce longswords), with carpentry and bulletproof jackets(great dv/pv with the right materials), with tailoring. It's also a great way to boost learning, since buying slaves and fusing them over and over trains learning at an enormous rate (5-6 learning per 100k spent on slaves or so). That's what a high PV is for. Even if you focus on PV, evasion and greater evasion are both very important.

Greater evasion lets you dodge crits, which you otherwise can't dodge. Very important, even for a PV character.

>> No.12007088

Start with predator, it gives you a +10 bonus to speed. You can later switch to whatever class feat you like with business cards from blackjack. Suggested defensive classes: wizard (10% mana cost reduction means you can heal more, buff yourself more, and debuff your enemies more), priest(25% bonus healing) or warmage(5% higher cast chance if you're wearing a shield or heavier armor).

Race: fairy if you really like grinding (you can farm little sisters and turn them in for hero cheese, fixing your life penalty and becoming an evasion/resistance juggernaut), golem if you like grinding but not too much (speed can be fixed, dim immunity helps against some monster types), elea if you're a beginner (resistance to magic reactions and ether corruption).

God: opatos (10% physical damage reduction, str and con for more life), itzpalt (elemental resistance, magic and meditation for more mana to heal yourself with), jure (will for life and mana, bonus to healing and magic capacity).

Weapons: weapon/unarmed and shield (bonus pv, damage decrease and nullification on shield, cast penalty), weapon/unarmed and claw/tonfa (no bonus pv, damage decrease and nullification on tonfa/claw, no cast penalty).

Spells: level holy shield, feather, resistance, regeneration and holy veil.

>> No.12007131

>>12007104
I'm not sure if the business card thing works in Elona+.

Also, it's not too big a deal which race you pick. Fairy and Mutant (and snail) are the only ones significantly different from the others. For instance, Golem's dim immunity is nice, but you can get the same thing other ways - enough sound resist, and insult will do nothing, and so on for the other sources.

The Warmage feat is generally the most useful, so it's probably best to go with that, though I suppose you could also get some use from priest.

I wouldn't recommend fairy for a defensive type, it's very grindy, and the DV bonus gets less useful the further you go.

750 hour guy here. I think it's time I cleared up some misconceptions.

- PC speed doesn't matter shit. I'm serious. This is because if you don't start with Riding, then the first 15 plats you earn should go to the trainer in Yowyn, where you can also get a cheapass horse that fixes all your speed issues. From that point on, it will ALWAYS be easier to get a faster riding pet than levelling up your own speed (especially since you can trade PC speed for PV or body parts later).

- What's the easiest race? It is, without a question, Golem. +60 Life is huge, dim resistance is nice, and the speed penalty doesn't matter (see above). Worst race? Fairy. Even by 750th hour I don't have enough scrolls of flying to make all my equipment <1s. Some extra resistances and DV just isn't worth the pain.

- what class should I pick? It doesn't really matter, since all classes will get all skills by midgame. Even class feats can be gotten with the name card. Pick something that gives skills you want early. When you go mage, you probably want to convert to Warmage, since the +5% casting chance is huge.

- DV or PV? PV. I've checked using Elosnack, even at 10000+ DV with 2000 Greater Evasion I still get hit a good amount of time by Inner gods. It's kinda crappy. PV, on the other hand, reduces damage by flat percentages.

- what weapon should I use? Ranged at start. Makes it easier to run away when things go pear shaped, and it doesn't have penalties with Riding. Convert to Magic later (by which I mean the buff spells + Magic Storm for DPS). Forget melee, your pets will always be better at it than you.

You have some good points, but I just like playing fairy, and flying scrolls aren't that bad, but then again I got a ton from my previous character's gene.

The low life is pretty nasty, though, but not without a solution. Besides, you're supposed to have a pet or several to block the way for you. They're the ones who are supposed to get all your massive PV gear, barring the few pieces that you can use just two or three flying scrolls on to make wearable, if you want PV.

Then again I haven't made it to super late game so whatever.

Plus, there is a really good point that PV is worth much more than DV and that you can improve your speed either through in-game boosts or just by riding.

I'm kind of wondering if there's a way for me to change my race now, or if it's too late. Not that I really want to, just that I don't know if there is a way. Maybe I will change my race to something else if I can.

Yes, and have to grind all over again. I mean, guess I could, but I'll still be reusing a lot of stuff that my fairy has. I think I'll go through quite a bit of progression first before I do that. I might make an attempt at "translating" the google translate version of the changelog this time if there isn't a proper translation again.

The first note is that they implemented the item_xxx.bmp thing in the user folder, so you can replace a single item sprite the same way you can with the chara_xxx.bmp stuff. That's a nice change.

They link to this pic in the changelog, which seems like a really odd change:

handgun damage reduction goes from 10-09-07-05-03 to 09-10-08-06-03. There's a mention of some laser gun nerf, but not sure if it's just a slight base damage reduction or not.

>> No.12009235

>>12009175
No, but there was a new bullet type called magnums added that seems to be slightly more damage in exchange for a hit penalty.

There is some weight related change that google translate poops out like this:

--------
· Accuracy of weapons, as increased by the blessing and strengthening value of the weapon.
And correction of +1 to get to damage or modify PV 10s to weight each of the current equipment.
Differs from changes due to feather scrolls once the following points mainly.

(It does not depend on the dice value) with any equipment, a certain bonus.
+20 Is an upper limit in the 200s in each equipment.
Adjustment is easy and is corrected by the system and do not modify the data item.
Is a correction of the relative weight of the current rather than the change in weight, it does not drop from the capacity of the original can be lightened.
Future adjustments may enter the correction amount.
--------

So it seems like there's a damage/accuracy or PV bonus if the equipment is heavier, +1 per 10 stones up to +20 at 200s. So, a 24s plate mail is going to add +2 to PV. I honestly don't remember the exact changes to feather scrolls now, but using a couple of those on the 24s armor didn't lower it's PV, other than losing +1 from being under 20s.

The tag team thing shown above is also pretty strange. There is also a new "equal basis" number under impress. Not sure what makes this go up, since killing stuff while tagging didn't seem to work for me or the pet.

Interacting with yourself or a pet lets you choose "Tag organization", and gets you a Tag Force SA the first time you use it. Couldn't get the SA to do anything, but it's probably related to the above number.

You also move really fast, so it's hard to control where you're going.

The google shit is this if anyone wants to try to figure it out:

System fully implemented to create a duo. + Fellow fellow, PC + companion, (PC + horse) + fellow can.

Specifically, (and even Meteor or nuclear explosion) that protect the more and more often in opposition role in the current HP is less.
In addition, there is support skills that strengthen the capacity and recovery of the tag.
Characters on the left take the initiative of movement and organization in the tag. Right will be unexploded move action.
Do not scroll in settings that screen scrolling while the PC is team up.
(To come with tag partner while jumping high repetition side in relation to the drawing order when scrolling)
Rate is unified character of the slower. It is difficult to understand the physical strength somewhat length gauges becomes half.

>> No.12009818

>>12009807

It's probably made of raw or some other bullshit. If you just change the item's material to something decent it will have decent DV and PV, probably.

Also, the RNG plays a huge factor in armor's DV and PV. Sometimes they won't have many bonus effects at all, or they'll have many negative ones. Seriously, you should know this by now.

>> No.12009820

>>12009807
A godly item has a high bonus to PV and DV. Your item likely has low PV and DV due to a bad material or an item type mismatch (cloth breastplate or metal feather). You can improve it by using a material kit to change its material to something useful, since you can't use scrolls on godly items.

Godly items also have many more bonuses (stats, skills, resistances, etc) than miracle items. This does not necessarily mean they are always better, however.

You need to look at your item's bonuses and the base item type (a heavy boot or a robe won't do you much good), to decide if it's worth spending a material kit on.

>> No.12009876

>>12009706
There's some stuff that can cause problems, but all the game does is check for the sav_charname folders in it's save folder. You can even copy your game save folder to the same folder, and play that character like a different character. That's nice for if you want to play around with some kind of thing that's going to auto-save, and want a restore point in case it ends up as a total disaster.

>>12009820
In addition to this, as far as material kits go, the godly quality item would need to be a top tier in the item class with amazing bonuses to spend a good material kit on it. Something like plate mail as adamantite can go over 100 PV easily. Not sure about the exact number since it's been a while, but it's a decent improvement.

The problem is that material kits are also the only things that can change living weapon material, too. Which means if you want to screw around making some level 15 +40 weapon, or a weapon with huge tactics or marksman bonuses, that's the only way to get the things to decent materials.

From the Elona+ wikia:

Tag stuff seems as strange as it appears in the screenshot. You move really fast while using it yourself. The new number in the talk screen seems to be related to it, too. I'm betting that's how the Tag Force special action is supposed to operate.

Out of the stuff not specifically mentioned in the changelog, Kuroya seems to have been added to the Dock. Pretty sure he was not there before, anyway. Melget the informer is at the pet arena in Ol-dran, and has some dialog which allows you to spend some gold but not do anything. Probably has something to do with profile stuff that doesn't work in the english version. They also replaced an old sprite at 162 to use for her sprite number.

The "magaqua", which is a magatama type thing, is the item that gives you the wet status if it's in your inventory.

I'm not sure if this overwrites the old flying scrolls, but the weight equipment bonus thing is +1 for every 10s, up to a max of +20 at 200s. It's easier to check with the armor, which just adds PV. The weapon thing seems to say damage AND accuracy in the changelog, but it seems sort of hard to check. Using a flying scroll on a 24s mail to bring it to under 20s didn't reduce the displayed 66 PV at all, but lost +1 PV on the status bar. I'm not sure if flying scrolls were changed to not affect PV or damage before this, though.

The fence in the thieves' guild sells them, but you'd need to be a member or have an incognito spell/scroll or another disguise kit to buy one from him. Plus, uniques aren't supposed to be affected by those anymore, so while the rest of the guild wouldn't chase you, the guildmaster probably would. Supposedly werewolves drop them somehow, but I can't remember if you need to kill them yourself or use the accuse thing,

>Monster balling putits is such a pain in the fucking ass when they die instantly every the time.

Use a spell that you haven't leveled at all and make sure you don't have spell enhancing gear on. Or dismiss all your pets and take a simple stupid weapon that does not have acidproof on it and attack a slime until it's degraded to your satisfaction. Then use that.

Only character.

Does quite well, aside from my super strong allies like Kali and a heavily invested Exile, he can do decent damage with that non-random sniper rifle you can get at the music ticket shop (found enough flying scrolls to make it light).

Only problem is, I cleared a dungeon too high, and it seems like 80% of dungeons hit the 500 level, or really too low to be worth the effort.

I don't use pets, because I find managing them a chore, and I enjoy taking on high level dungeons all by myself. Though I'm considering taking the black cat along for the lick bonus, since I have atrociously bad gear despite going through hundreds of dungeons and dozens of treasure maps already.

I know, which is why I'll likely never get around to doing it, since I'd have to put a lot of effort into catching it up to my ability level. I wish there was a summon spell, or some kind of shadow copy ability, for jerks like me who are too lazy to take care of anyone other than themselves.

An easy way to abuse this is to trade with an NPC and leave them with just the item you want to get licked, and then attack the NPC and let the cat finish it off. Then there's only one gear piece to drop and possibly get the lick. You could use that to try to boost your current gear, I think, though I never tried it.

How much does the Juere hunger feat change the speed at which you become hungry? I feel like it's a blessing and a curse at the same time, but lately it's been bothering me when I want to eat certain things for stat gain and can't. Is the difference even worth worrying about?

>> No.12013508

>>12013500
I'm not sure about the rate, but if you want stat gains, summon a hunger demon in a static dungeon (ideally one in a town) and go there when you want to eat lots of food.

For all the end-gamers with triple-digit attributes and "superb" potential, how do you keep it so high?

Assuming herbs are the answer, how do you keep enough herb seeds on hand? Does the cute fairy drop herb seeds reliably or do you have to stockpile from quest rewards until your gardening skill is high enough that they don't constantly die on you?

Lastly, which is preferred, eating herbs plain or making the herb food in the pot of fusion?
