Depends on what you find fun.
Do you like Roguelikes?
Do you like grinding?
Do you REALLY like grinding?
No really, you're gonna be doing a lot of the same shit over and over, and probably dieing a lot.

And then eventually you become a godfucker.

I just started playing two or three weeks ago and I had a hard time since this is my first Roguelike. It's hard to get the ball rolling and you need to enjoy those gritty games. A tip: Don't think you get through the game with a melee-only based character. It was fun to oneshot the first enemies with a warhammer as a golem warrior, but then those assholes started to get way faster than me and started to shot from a distance while I threw my stupid rocks at them. In hindsight I could try running such a class again now that I have some experience. Anyway. Shit's hard. The game finds various ways to fuck you over with no lube.

The grind isnt so bad, it's just not a game you can complete quickly. I've been on and off on one character for a year or so now, and I have a lot of fun just taking my magical harem on adventures. the only dull part i've found so far is maxing out certain gods (luluwy, Mani), I cant wait to go back to my delicious kumiromi.

I wish you could have more custom portraits though, without resorting to overwriting the main ones.

>>11910514
Yeah, melee is really viable early on, but once you hit higher level enemies, or god forbid bells or quicklings, you need to be decently skilled with throwing or keep poisons on you at all times. certain melee pets rock the house though!

it's at 1.34 now.
Artifact fusion seems to be in,according to the log, which is super cool. Pets can use rods too with 100% success, including rods of wish. Wishing for a skill via a pet now gives the pet that skill, for easy training I assume. A few starting classes have more starting abilities, and some other stuff.

One of the newer things in Elona+ is that you can duplicate a talk.txt text file in your user folder, then set the modified text file to your pet or yourself to change the default responses for stuff.

Also, keep in mind that drinking potions trains your magic device skill in Plus, as well as the fact that you can craft rods then set them to a hotkey and blow through them pretty quickly. I ended up going to Literacy equipment and spellbooks bought from the guild in newer versions of Plus, since you could use the spell more often. Probably forgetting something important since it's been a year or so since I last played it.

>>11923676
Mostly matters if you want to try to claim it's a Rogue-like. You can play the thing as a normal RPG if you want, but it does lose most of it's challenge, which might kill some of the enjoyment. Plus has pretty much been built around savescumming though, so normal Elona is probably better for Rogue-like lovers.

I had forgotten that newer versions of Elona Plus added a couple of other modes, No Future and Inferno. The game detects exits and saves that are made other than through using the Exit command normally, and gives a major penalty if it's detected. You get a multiplier to your "score" for this, but I don't really know if anyone keeps track of those.

There's a list of stuff on the wiki about the modes and their penalties here: http://elona.wikia.com/wiki/Balance

Personally, I have a lot of fun with Elona, but there are probably much better games for those who like Rogue-like cruelty. It's probably more interesting because of how strange it can get sometimes, pic related. Captcha: The entetie

These sprites are from a pixiv tittymonster artist. The other ones posted are probably a lot closer to what you're looking for, but this is another option. I don't think the monster girls sheet you're referencing had mostly sprites from one artist, though. The guy maintaining the sheet modified the bobblehead sheet, from what I remember. There are tons of good options for those. I even ended up doing an overlay once.

>>11940524
You can post up sprites as png files without any color loss if you don't want to use an image service. You can also copy the sprite to your user/graphic folder, next to the custom portrait files, and name it pic18.bmp there to make it work the same way. It's usually better to avoid copying directly on to the sheet if you don't have hundreds of alternative sprites, since every new release would have to be modified again. The individual sprites can also have a different transparency color, from what I remember. and doesn't crash the game if the file format isn't exactly right.

Nice work on the spriting, though.

I'm using an image service because the spritesheet is too big for 4chan. I'm the one maintaining the monster girl sprite sheet as it is, so I'm gonna try adding more sprites to it to keep with the theme as I dig around.
I found a whole bunch somewhere too, so I'm going to be replacing some of the vanilla sprites that are left with what I can find that matches the others, and drawing in the rest to match, probably. I didn't know about the alternate bg/other folder. I've never had my spritesheet edit crash me though.

It could use a good updating though, with all the new stuff that got added in e+. I'll probably leave some of the bosses alone, since they have crazy nice sprites, but the other stuff I could change around easy peasy.

With that though, how do you guys feel about cameo sprites? I know that the current one replaces the bartender with triella from gsg, for example. Would you guys be alright with some touhou/anime/otaku media replacements for some of the sprites? Or should I stick to original only? (ie, Okuu for crow, suigintou for black angel, stuff like that)

Personally, I'm a fan of sprites that are well made, so I tend to like those more whether they're cameo or not. I guess it would depend on how well they fit the character they're replacing, and if it would end up looking strange or out of place if there were a bunch of them or something.

>>11943027
It'd probably depend on what kind of abilities have been added since the time you last played. Getting a tonfa and the violence ether mutation would probably help a lot, although the former doesn't function the same as a shield anymore so it's more dangerous. Once you can pick up the Shadow Step special action, It's a lot easier to go with melee if you want to use it most of the time. You'll still need something for range to use on super fast enemies that move away from you every turn, but most of those are lower health and you can manage with throwing stuff if you wanted to. If you really want to spam it, you'll need Kumiromi for his Elona+ stamina regen ability, or a stamina draining wep for your primary weapon.

>>11954341
Unfortunately, the pets that are cute or interesting for other reasons tend to die too often to actually be used. My favorites have always been pets that are good as mounts. Pascal and Lityou are amazing, and nyarlathoteps make excellent, hard to kill mounts. Favorite actual fighting pet is probably the kali, with it's 4 arms with high dual-wield, and the fact they cause attackers to bleed. They can also use 4 of your favorite weps that you can't use yourself, potentially negating the weight penalty for heavy stuff if you arm them correctly, Can't remember if they even need a shield to counteract that since their dual-wield is so high.

The others pets wouldn't be much stronger though since all I had to do was fuse her with monsters that had great stats while trying to avoid giving her parts that'd make her lose speed. The only thing she doesn't compared to others pets would be she doesn't have any special skill beside the fact she says "onii-chan" all the time, just like the younger sister does (shame they still haven't put back that into the game yet).

I should mention that an explanation of how to do the quest that opens up the artifact fusion stuff is up at http://elona.wikia.com/wiki/Thread:12114 . I don't know if it's up in another place, but it doesn't have an english name yet so there's no point in an actual page. Don't ask me how to do the fusion though, I know nothing other than you need a gain attribute scroll.

The Elona uploader, which that came from, and Pixiv are busy with new stuff all the time. I'm personally obsessive with sprites of all kinds, so I can pick up stuff like that a lot, but it's tough for people that actually maintain sheets to keep track of everything. Plus there are a billion versions of stuff like younger sisters. There's probably even more from some exceptional sprite artists, like the guy who makes amazing portraits at "scrap for Elona" at http://scrapiuna.blogspot.jp/ . If anyone wants to use any of those, keep in mind that the previews are .jpg compressed, which messes up the pixels for use ingame. You have to click on the image and hope it downloads a .bmp from his hosting site, or download one of his archive packs which has the uncompressed stuff. Probably has something to do with blogspot not accepting bmps, although you'd think non-compressed .pngs would be allowed.

I don't remember if sprites of male characters were welcome, but here's a fem-Lomias, also from the uploader.

Ran out of room by talking too much on the last post there. Yes, you can get another exile, at least in Plus, and from what I remember you don't even have to dump your current one. If you're worried that you're above your god pet limit and have an abandoned ranch from the deed quest, you can dump your current exile there if you want. It probably works with the dojo too, but I did all my experimentation with the abandoned ranch.

You just have to change gods, then change back to Itzpalt again. Once you get the 1500 favor reward, you can get a new Exile. By the way, since the gender is random and if you don't mind some savescumming, you can get the opposite gender of what you have, since they have a different evolution if you like those.

I know what you mean, since I was working through summoning all the gods to one map in the last game to pick up the rewards. I was using a dungeon in one game to keep them far away from each other, but I think I might have summoned them at the maid house in my most recent game. They can occasionally get into fights with each other if they're generated with the right items. That would not be good.

Apparently, one of the more recent patches allows the 300s chests to randomly carry one of those, so hopefully they'll at least be as common as before they removed them from Wizard's Harvest.

You know, I seem to remember that someone made a save scumming program for normal Elona a while ago. The advantage to that thing is that it automatically backed up your saves, so you could go back after auto-saves. You might want to run a search for something like that, since manually backing up your save is hard to remember, as well as pretty boring.

>> No.11967029

>>11967019

It's a waste. You only get so many wishes/year before you start getting the "A stroke of luck has passed you by" message.

Casino chips are easy as hell to come by, you can stock up on cure corruption potions easy peasy. Hell, the 10 in the beginning is enough to get you at least 5, if you don't suck too badly at blackjack and do it on a lucky day.
If you're going through them that quickly, a much better wish would be for a vindale cloak. You can also get them every time you marry a pet, which is rather quick and doesn't waste your wish that can be used for rare and nice equipment.
Once you hit mid game, you're drowning in them if you have a wizard shopkeeper in your house that you've bothered to invest in as well.

But it's still probably easiest to just go do a few loops of the puppy cave for engagement items, then throwing them at whatever meat pet you're breeding (horses, putits, rabbits, whatever on your farm) then marrying them for the guarenteed cure corruption potion.

So no, it's definitely NOT the best way to get them. I'd rather have a happy bed, a vindale cloak, auroura ring, boots of travel, etc over a measly cure corruption potion.

barring that, use your wishes for skillluck or skillspeed or potential or evolution or something. Way more valuable.

I keep a stack of like 20 in my house, and I've got about 90 casino chips left, and I haven't even finished the main quest of north tyris yet. Hell, I'll go run them to pael every now and then to top out my karma. Or trade them for shit in stacks of 3-6. Wasting a wish on something that common is a really bad idea.

What sacrifices do you think are hard to get? The only one I can think of were the staves for Itzpalt in vanilla Elona and they changed that to rods.
As for the magic; don't you think this whole game is a grind? Magic users are pretty fucked in the beginning I give you that. I remember how I used up all my combat spells, had to hide behind my only pet, shoot/throw with some shitty paper weapon, while I cleaned the Puppy Cave over and over again in hope of finding some goddamn spellbooks of Magic Arrow. But as soon as you can enter the Mages' Guild it's all over. See this bitch with the blue coat? She is your new god. The only thing you have to grind at this point are the spells themselves and the potential of these can only rise when you sleep. So it's just a matter of time and the payoff is glorious when you stick with mage. Need to go home? Cast Return. Reveal the current dungeon layout? Cast Magic Map. Want to identify an artifact? Cast Identify. Carry too much food? Cast 4-Dimensional Pocket in which food stays fresh forever. Got ambushed buy some Highwayman? Cast Teleport till you hit the border of the map and simply leave. Too much enemies are storming towards you? Create walls out of thin air. Some high-level asshole is standing in your way? Blind/paralyze/confuse/poison him, cut this fuckers DV and PV in half and lower his resistances against anything with your combat spells. Want to fuck shit up? Cast Meteor. Want do dominate something? Cast motherfucking dominate.
You can obviously do most of this without being a mage. You just need to carry a shitload of scrolls and rods, but some of them are very rare and the mage can do all this without carrying anything, having a much higher (spell)stock and having to pay less. Also, nothing can dodge spells. You can only fail casting or the enemy has a resistance against some types of magic.

Guns are probably better overall, but you can still do plenty of damage with a bow. You won't hit the damage of a shotgun, but there aren't any huge drawbacks. It's easier to grab a unique bow early in the game as well, not having to rely on chance. Seems easier to find living bows than guns too, but that's probably just randomness.

Either way, pick up a tonfa from Miral's shop as early as possible if you're doing a lot of shooting. The damage bonus from them applies to your ranged weapons, too.

The few grenades i've found were completely underwhelming.

Machine Guns are overpowered as fuck for the first half of the game. 10d2 damage means an extremely high average, instead of something like 2d16. Mine is currently 10d5+1

You may not do as much damage potentially as the shotgun, but you'll always have very consistent damage output and never get those really shit rolls of like 3 damage. Another thing is the effective range of weapons.

http://elona.wikia.com/wiki/Ranged_Weapons

MG does 100% damage from 2-3 tiles away, and 90% at 4 tiles and lowers from there on.
Longbow does 100% at only 3 tiles away, 90% at 2, and 50% at 1 tile away.
Shotguns do 100% at point blank, 60% at 2 tiles, and a pitiful 30% at 3 tiles away. It simply can't hit anything further than that.

Again this is early game.
Guns rely on Perception, where bows use Dexterity. Whichever you find easiest to train or want to train.

Later on it wont matter so much as you have more and more damage bonuses stacked on you, the variability between say 10d2 and 2d10 isn't as obvious when you have +50 damage going for it.

Once I find a good enough laser pistol i'll be switching to that, 100% damage from 1-7 tiles on a base 2d10 gun. So nice.
Even if I were to consistently hit 96 on the upper end of my 10d5 MG, that damage penalty from moving outside of the 2-3 range will shoot me back down to the mid-range of my current laser pistol.
Flexibility over specialization is how I roll.

I tend to learn cooking only when I've found a barbecue set and rerolled it to zylon or dawn/spirit cloth. Any other cooking tools tend to be either too heavy to carry or give too little of a bonus to cooking. And since cooking only levels from the third quality level onwards and you get less stat increases for charred meat, hard bread and such, it's pretty unpractical unless you follow Jure or want to sink a ton of platinum or skill points in cooking.

Instead I'd get anatomy right off to increase the drop rate of corpses. As long as you keep some backup bread, eating unidentified corpses tends to work fine, you'll vomit from cursed corpses now and then but unless you get terribly unlucky you shouldn't starve or get anorexia. And when you do get around to learning cooking, you'll always have plenty of corpses to level on.

If you're in a town, there's plenty of food at the baker and general vendors, so you can eat anything that rots then save the bread for dungeon crawling. And cooked food doesn't sell for enough to make it worth the effort.

I suppose it's a matter of personal preference, I find myself prioritizing more essential dungeon crawling skills like lockpicking to open doors and chests, the material gathering related skills, sense quality and so on. Between that and getting a full kit of combat and/or magic skills, and some other quality of life skills like investing and negotiation, cooking tends to sit unlearned until I have a good reason to, which is either finding a barbecue kit or simply having learned almost all the skills in the game.

sure, the damage is solid and minimum and avarage damage is higher but on the down side- the avarage is solid, meaning restraining. the chances to get max damage on a 3d10 are much higher than on on 10d3, on which they might as well be nonexitent.
Don't attributes such as 'luck' affect your damage output? you will need much more luck to be maxing on a 10d3. that is why I'm taking my chances on fewer dices with higher veriaty.

Keep in mind that because they decided to let you equip ranged weps in your melee slot and vice versa, that your pets sometimes equip things in a different slot than they're supposed to since you can't equip them directly. This includes them moving things from where they might have been before you give them a new item. You can usually trade them some stuff you don't need for the items with cursed attributes, then just trash the crap you get from them. I was thinking that higher quality material jewelry and armor works well for that, so having a stack around can help. It's something else to do if you want to try to trade them a lot of engagement stuff after hiring them to get their relationship up. You can't keep giving the engagement stuff, since their inventory will fill up, so you have to trade them something so they automatically dump other equipment to make space.

Getting near to soul mate can get you gifts and tokens from them when they show up, which are nice for getting relationships higher for NPCs that you can't use engagement stuff with. You also get a chance to get the best stuff from New Years gifts when they show up, which includes the amazing Five Horned Helmet.

Honestly, until you complete the three side dungeons, you can't get much of anything by continuing down Lesimas anyway. Once you get to the second spy, you'd have to do it anyway.

As far as exploring stuff goes, if you run into something you think is going to toast you up close, try zapping them with a teleport rod. that can end up helping you buy time in places that you don't want to have to kill every enemy to get past. Getting high enough level to have a decent meat-wall pet to soak up damage for you in situations where you're uncertain can help, too. If you can pick up a cyclops or minotaur early, that can help a lot at enemies around their level.

I'm kind of drawing a blank about what E+ pets might help, but having some decent backup helps tremendously. You could probably pick up some nicer armor to prevent the sudden deaths too, but for all I know you already have some decent stuff.

What is /jp/'s favorite race in terms of pure power-gaming?

I'm fairly new and it feels like I'm reaching a point in the game where I'll be doing a lot more grinding to move forward, so I'm considering throwing away my character (largely a practice character that wound up successful) and starting over from a gene. Elea looks good simply because of the Ether resistance, something that has dogged me with my current character (partly due to a lack of calendar awareness, something I'm getting better at). The reduced overcast penalty doesn't seem like it could be incredibly useful but on the other hand if ZAngband and variants had such a skill it would have saved my life countless times.

Do enough enemies start using magical attack types in the late-game to make the fairy's bonuses worth it? Then again, the fairy penalty looks like it would be a nuisance at worst, with my current character I blast everything with magic or let my pets kill it before we ever come to blows.

Thoughts/opinions?

Ether is pretty easy to deal with once you do enough dungeons, since you can just go play blackjack for a ton of cure corruption potions if you're patient.

As far as stuff that you can't get or emulate with other characters, the added bonus point for yerles characters is nice at later levels, since it really adds up. Increasing potential is horribly expensive once you have a lot of high level skills, and the bonus point helps you with that a bit.

Golems also end up pretty useful, since their dim resistance is REALLY nice later on in crowds of people using stuff like insult. It doesn't prevent dim caused by some effects like insanity, but it's an advantage that you can't duplicate with equipment. Golem starting speed is pretty terrible though, and you can't spend AP to get more until you beat the first continent.

Another interesting way to play is with a mutant. 6 armed mutants are really neat, and not as fragile as you might think since you can equip shields for more dangerous stuff. You can actually add a couple of hand slots with a normal char now with the scientist in the 2nd continent, so this isn't as unique anymore.

>> No.11981003

>>11980966
The two that are probably the "best" at it are:

Mutant: Multi-Wield monster. Only one who gains multiple slots without using the Doctor in the second continent. And then if you're nuts and have a good monster ball to carry you through, you could even get 27 slots if you rush through and get to the Doc before level 3. You might get unlucky unless you savescum but eh.

Fairy has a rough start, what with being only able to use light equipment. But with persistence they can dodge quite a lot of things while having tons of resistances (mine has superb###+ in all but nether and poison). Course, I still get creamed by a goddamn Four Head God, but then again, my party who's far better than me tends not to survive long against it, resistances or not.

>> No.11981014

I wouldn't really recommend fairy. The resistances are great, and yes, they will come in handy a lot, but the equipment restrictions aren't fun at all.

Elea feats are 40% ether resistance (I believe), and half damage from overcasting. Both of them are somewhat useful, but they aren't too significant - there are other ways to get ether resistance, watching the calendar will save you from a lot of it, and cure corruption potions aren't difficult to obtain. Same goes for the overcast resistance - it's useful, but you should be trying to avoid negative MP anyway.

As for the theoretical best race, Fairies can be great once you grind out enough scrolls of flying, Golems have their dim immunity, and mutants have the extra limbs. All of them aside from snail are good though, don't feel that you have to use one of those three. I usually go with Elea.

Ah, the memories.

I last played back in Elona+ 1.24, having stopped playing once I made it to Lost Irva and concluded the entire continent was "GRIND GRIND GRIND OR DIE".

I went spellcasting as my primary way of killing things, eventually settling on the spellcaster god for his amazing mp recovery ability.

North Tyris most people have went through, so nothing much to say there.

South Tyris didn't require much grinding from me to beat, and I actually didn't really feel that big of a jump in difficulty at first; both Metal Vesta and the spellcaster went down pretty easily via the tried and true tactic of "spam spells, don't be in melee".

Took me quite a while to beat Anubis though, mostly because he was the first enemy I had faced with that fucking rush move that meant that my usual plan of "don't be in melee range" didn't work because he could at a moment's notice hit me anyways and be right next to me. Didn't help that his weapon gave him heavy magic resistance, meaning my usual plan of "spam magic dart" was very ineffectual.

Eventually I managed to bring him down anyways via pets and grinding my magic dart like crazy, and from there it was smooth sailing until the Orphe/Chaos Unicorn fight. Ended up winning only by dragging just Orphe down (somehow without having the Unicorn come down too), using magic dart and blink until he went down, and then dealing with the Unicorn on it's own.

Rest of South Tyris went fine after that, only the end boss posed much trouble at that point and even he eventually went down once my asura pet procced a time stop followed up with a decapitation when he was probably about to use his bullshit massive heal AGAIN.

Anyways, I eventually offed all the South Tyris Chaos Fort bosses, and without being higher than maybe Level 60.

Hilariously, Siva was the easiest of the three; I remember back in original Elona offing the Cat Queen with thorn spam, and after grabbing a lot of items with thorns, grinding up my speed, and bringing a ridiculous amount of healing/defenses, Siva ended up offing himself on me.

The Dead Emperor wasn't much more difficult; stacked lots of resists, teleported away if he hexed me, and basically ground him down with Crystal Spear until he died.

Yerleswood was a nightmare, mostly because there's no way in hell to survive a hit from the Pile Driver without 50 billion years of grinding. I had to catch way too many Bells of Termination, outfit them all, and get a LOT of Resurrection charges to deal with him.

But he eventually went down, and with that done I moved on to Lost Irva.

I quit shortly afterwards because all the gods there were 50 times more bullshit than anything in South Tyris and were DESIGNED to make it so you had to grind like no tomorrow just to stand a chance in hell. MAYBE I could have handled the spellcaster (because lol spellcaster enemies), but even that would be brutal and I wouldn't even get any of their unique artifacts anyways.

Oh, and the straw that broke the camel's back was nerfing the black market, because having a good way to get rid of money AND get good equipment was apparently not allowed.

Anyways, what's changed from 1.24 to whatever the current version is?

It does suck, but once you get further on in the game you can do stuff like use mana rods and scrolls, and you can end up with high enough MP that most of the time you won't run out if you're just using offensive magic. Probably a bigger problem is that NPCs get resistance based on their level, going up about 1 step every 25 levels, which hits superb around...101? Can't remember off the top of my head. 100+ enemies get slight magic resistance as well, although that does cap pretty low. It's a hard life as a caster.

Once you get the Staff of Insanity from the Tomb boss, that will help out greatly. You can also build a really good intelligent wep that hits a higher magic multiplier than any artifact if you save scum to get the attribute stacked up. Takes forever, though.

Yeah, I forgot about how bullshit EVERYTHING there is.

So I remember there's a main quest for Lost Irva, and I'm currently stuck on Floor 7 because holy shit it's a complete clusterfuck.

Whoever thought enemies needed to scale up like the Void only even more deserves to die in a fire. Enemy resistance has scaled so horribly high that even Meteor does jack shit, and enemy HP is so high that even my horribly horribly overgrinded Magic dart (28d94 damage BEFORE the Scythe of Void's damage boost is factored in), is only barely knocking small fractions off of their life totals.

How am I supposed to handle the 7th floor? My HP still isn't very good (1446) and I don't know if my speed is enough anymore (463), and everything there hits like a truck and keeps healing each other and throwing stuff at me that hits hard and it's a complete clusterfuck.

If you beat Aikage on the 7th floor, that's about as far as you can go in the main quest that's been implemented so far. Last time I checked the formula for enemies in the Cradle was something like level 140 + 1 level per floor after the first. So you're doing really well if you got that far.

The only quests so far are the volcano one that you get in Ulm-Leson, and the one that unlocks artifact "fusion" in Rust Plaza. I haven't seen a good explanation about how it works though, so completing the quest is pretty pointless. Completion involves getting Thalia to Fellow relationship, talking to Irma, talking to the elder, then Irma, then leaving town and going back in, and going back to the world map 6 squares above the Rust Plaza location.

>>11982164

That's one of the things that you need for the artifact fusion thing, although I'm not sure if it's fusion anymore. Well, if you're using the Scythe, you can actually upgrade your magic damage a bit by switching to the Vital Flayer. The magic multiplier is about 1.45 times for the Scythe, as opposed to 2.2 times for the Flayer. I think the highest you can get is something around 2.4x by stacking "enhances spells" boosts on a living wep, but that takes forever.

Other than that, I don't think people usually make it that far before they give up on magic. I can't think of what else might help at that point.

It depends on where you are in Lost Irva, since the stuff in the Cradle gets that level boost if they're under 140 + the floor level usually. One advantage to summoning a god there is that if you decide you want to get enough favor for that god's 3rd gift, the god will still be there once you do so. There's nothing that'd improve regen. I was resorting to stamina drain weps when using other gods besides Kumiromi so I could spam moves like shadow step. You can't pick up enough soda from the event vendors to help much either.

One of the many problems that the Plus developers didn't think about was that including a lot of stamina using skills makes it important to include more ways to get stamina back. Because of this, Kumiromi is still amazingly useful late-game. Keep forgetting to ask if anyone knows the source of this artwork. It's an excellent replacement for the ingame backgrounds.

>>11985560
Yeah, as was mentioned before, it's not supposed to be a replacement for anything from the actual game. There are a huge amount of really well drawn sprites with characters from different games and anime specifically done for Elona.

There IS a point where shopkeepers are supposed to stop adding new inventory, and there was some part on the wiki for it. It's hard to say how accurate it was, but raising levels to 100 should pretty much get all you can get from shops. People experimenting with black markets have found that they can keep adding more pages of stuff, so while the stuff might not get better, there would be a lot more of it than other shops.

>>11985902
Yeah, this is actually a big problem if you summon gods in one place. If one gets drunk and kills another, the map can end up ruined.

>>11985911
There have been some attempts to contact the Plus developers to give them translation assistance. The guys that tried it never came back with a reply, though. A couple of anons have done summaries of the Plus cutscenes before, but I don't think they were saved anywhere.

For those that haven't seen it, the story synopsis of the first game was posted here:

Pic is the Elona gods as the Seven Heroes last boss from Romancing SaGa 2.

I was thinking that eating blessed food randomly will cause weight gain, but it's pretty rare. They put in stuff that will let you mess with everything but weight, including age. My characters usually end up vomiting a lot, too.

Does "it enhances your metabolism" mean I eat more often, less often, or something else (like boosts healing or something)?

Is there any way, besides throwing up, to cause your character to eat faster? I'm looking for Haven and Hearth style food-grinding techniques.

The ones I was talking about were the random ones that show up on the paper background during character creation. Maybe some other stuff, but can't remember at the moment. The ones these were made for were the g1.bmp-g8.bmp files in the Graphic folder.

The problem with using interface mods is that every time a new version is released, you have to check the file modified dates, then the file contents itself to see what was modified before you overwrite it. Even if you don't mind it, you spoil yourself by having to see whatever new graphical stuff was put in every update.

Why is Noyel the best town?

a. That snowy footstep crunch
b. Quiet, subdued atmosphere
c. The winter festival
d. Awesome church
e. Far away from the huddled masses of humanity

Did I miss any?

Binge eating is actually pretty bad for your character. They can develop Anorexia, which causes them to throw up any solid foods after eating regardless of what it is, causing them to starve to death afterwards. The only way to "cure" that would be to drink milk until it goes away.

You could just travel overworld with a bunch of food, and eat as the days pass by.

It's also worth mentioning that that the stat gains from food are increased the hungrier you are when you eat it, so eating a load of food in one go isn't as efficient as eating the bare minimum.

Though if you are eating the bare minimum, you might start starving in the middle of a fight or something, so watch out for that.

What's up with this whole
>are you a werewolf?
thing? I can ask just about any citizen and sometimes I have the option to say they're a werewolf and they'll be executed and I gain 5 fame.

Is there any point to not just execute them? Are they even werewolves? Does it even matter?

>> No.11988339

>>11988328
Having a werewolf in town means that citizens will get killed every so often in town "by an unseen hand". It doesn't really affect you, but it can get annoying for quests if the person you're supposed to talk to is suddenly assassinated.

If you talk to each citizen individually, you'll find out who the werewolf is, indicated by their title that appears after their name.

There are two ways to kill the werewolf: one is personally killing it yourself, which is tough if you're not well equipped to fight a level 30 monster, or executing it via the townsfolk, where it'll be killed on the spot.

But sometimes "xxxxx the Werewolf male" doesn't give the "this man is a werewolf" option when you confront him. Is that intentional, or is there some requirement I have to meet before I'm allowed to call him out.

Noyel was nice in normal Elona since you could use it to ruin your karma, then just buy it back by giving cure corruption potions to Pael. They sort of "finished" that quest in Plus, so it won't let you give potions continuously anymore.

The Holy Well is there too, but it refilled so slow that it never seemed worth it. There's also a chance that it gives you nothing.

>>11988384
I'm sort of confused by the werewolf thing myself, but when I was spawning some werewolf detectives to look at stats, the first one I was able to confront, but the ones afterwards didn't give the accusation option. So maybe there's some sort of time limit between accusations?

In order to craft change material scrolls, I'll need "Generator" materials. I haven't found a single one of these yet, and I'm wondering, which material spot will give me the best chance of finding them. Is there a particular level of dungeon I should be looking in?

So there's this thing http://elona.wikia.com/wiki/Astral_Light_Pen

In this page it says the Astral Light Pen can be used to copy unique boss monsters and such but one of the requirements is that you reach soulmate status. How do you even do that with hostile enemies? I'm under the impression chucking love potions at them doesn't work because they're already hostile or something.

>> No.11990696

>>11990528
Chucking love potions does work. It's really slow after a point though.

Also there's a graveyard in Lost Irva where all the bosses you've killed are neutral NPCs so you can do it there with gifts and crap instead.
